Simple and powerful advice rooted in real experience. Thank you Aarthi!
Adding a few of my thoughts while watching this video
    1. Do the work - love this point. Knowing the details is extremely important.. one area I’ve struggled is - how do I come across as strategic in the bigger meetings vs tactical in providing details to existing POVs already expressed in the room. Preparation ahead of time for big meetings help, but curious if you’ve faced similar challenges.
    2. Build relationships: This is a non-obvious point and resonates with me. I’ve noticed doing 1:1s with the CEO or critical leaders prior to interacting with them in big meetings helps me calm down my nerves.
    3. Ignore the naysayers: I’ve realized I needed to develop some base level of confidence to be able to do this effectively. My initial reaction has been look inwards and self-loathe especially when the naysayer is well accomplished/ holding a position of power.

The point about critique of the criticism is very pertinent. It comes with time but one has got to learn what to take in and what to discard. Its important for ones sanity.

Thanks for sharing brilliant advices Aarthi.
I’d suggest to practice meditations, affirmations and visualisation - it’s especially helps to reaccumulate positive while dealing with negative people.

Most managers in Amazon are Indian.
I am an Indian guy in US with an Indian manager. I am not in talking terms with my father who lives in India.
He googled office number of India branch of my company. He uses this number to call and tell my company to make me talk to him.
If my Indian manager comes to know about this, will it impact my promotion to a more senior role?what about my conservative Indian manager?
Many Indian managers do judge right? I want to grow up through the managerial ranks.
Actually I work in a firm with stack ranking. I am afraid that I might get into PIP due to conservative Indian manager and due to calls from father.
