Thank you so much! 60 and loving the piano! When I was a child, my teacher would play the tune and send me home. I would come back a champ because I remembered the melody. She never taught me timing. When I got to another teacher as a teenager, she would slap my wrists because she couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t play something cold. Thank you thank you thank you for playing this for me to follow along. It is gorgeous!

Do you ever get that feeling of going into music and getting out of it because you feel like you aren’t enjoying this more than you should? It’s been like that all my life.
I've absolutely have experienced that. i started playing piano when I was about 6, and am 25 now. I've been a musician longer in my life than not. It took around 4-6 YEARS for me to start enjoying the piano and really liking the pieces I was playing. I was taught on the Suzuki Method. Most people, when they found I took lessons, said "I wish I had stuck with it". I wanted to prove them wrong and stick with it, so I did. I took lessons for about 12 years. I also picked up trumpet. played in various ensembles and ,arching bands throughout my school career, both grade school and college. I was at my university for 5 years, and didn't march the last year. I didn't miss it at all. I knew I was done and was happy about it. Now I've picked up guitar, ukulele, and bass. I get bored easily and like to learn new things. Kind of like a "Jack of all trades, master of none" thing. Anyways, I wanted you to know you aren't alone! Good luck to you. Think about it and I know you will ultimately decide what's right for you. And remember: music is for EVERYONE. Taking breaks is normal. Putting down the instrument for a while then coming back to it is something so many have done and do. Take comfort in the fact that you wouldn't be the first or last to do it, whatever you decide.
