Skaggs' tenor to Duffy's lead was really good. Yep, that's harmony, mate.

I think the late, great John Duffey was born old! He looks the same here in 70's as he did when I saw him in the early 90's. What a talent. I sure miss his unique vocals and quirky stage personae. Rest in Peace.

@713pbradley You must have completly lost your mind.....Duffey is probably the most underrated mando. player of all times and probably the best tenor singer in bluegrass history. The Scene changed the bluegrass scene forever, brought on the newgrass scene and everyone followed in there footsteps.

The fellow guitarist in my first band grew up with Ricky in Blaine, KY. He and I started the first Southern rock band in northern Indiana and we listened to only rock music. It took me years to appreciate good bluegrass and realize how talented these guys were.

@aspencer73 Right on Mr. Spencer! Duffy WAS indeed an incredible mandolin player -- his playing was full of jazz and blues licks I loved it. I have no idea who the self-appointed genius, and bluegrass critic, 713pbradley, is but I when I went to his channel I find it is not exactly showing any uploads of his playing! LOL

Ricky is one of the best Men in American music of my lifetime (since 1950). I knew nothing of Bluegrass until around 1974 when I got a "sound job" doing John Hartford. His one man show and creative writing (I'm gonna see you get that golden Globe Award, for those golden globes of yours, cuz they're so fine).... that I had to see more and luckily got further education doing the Mid-America Bluegrass Festival shortly thereafter and several years in the late seventies/early eighties at Grassy, MO, Arrowhead Campground festival with some truly outstanding pickers and singers. Did Bill Monroe himself and some unusally outstanding Bluegrass, Outlaw Country, and Rockabilly folks in Norther Pennsylvania, twice, and many others. I have noticed that, since retirement (2002), there are very few that truly compare to the quality and are advancing the state of the art based on the best of the traditional..... But then there is Ricky..... God Bless all involved and those that respect and propagate this morally strengthening Blessed music. A Dios....
