How to use Masking Fluid without Ruining Your Paint Brush

    Good on painting, not so good on specific topic. Did she dip the brush in undiluted Dawn? (Not shown) Since that is the most crucial part of keeping the brush from absorbing the masking fluid, it really needs to be shown.

      @@katrinacrouch I use one drop of Dawn in 3 oz. of water and it works fine. No residue on brushes.

    rubber cement removers are best for removing this stuff.

      If you put your paint brush into masking fluid, it will ruin your brush within about a minute. The fluid dries, causes the hairs to stick together and clump. I have ruined several brushes trying to find ways to USE masking fluid.
      By putting the brush into the dish soap first and THEN the masking fluid, I am able to use masking fluid without sacrificing my brushes in the process. The dried masking fluid wipes right off!

      The point is that you DON’T have to clean your brushes with this technique
