@@MagiaBasedI’m actually completely fine with Sakura faces Fate may make changes to historical figures but they never mean to be disrespectful in any way and sometimes uses those changes in very creative ways I like to think of servants like characters based on historical figures rather than straight up historical figures I’m always hyped to see any new Indian servants
I'm also happy that as a result of Kali's introduction Rani VIII shows up as well. It's strange it took her so long, having a route in Fate/Extra, a SG in CCC and becoming a Lu Bu Demi Servant in Last Encore.
Yeah, it's nice to see. I only got briefly introduced to her only in Extra/Encore anime since I haven't played the game. I really liked her character so it's nice that she's here finally.
I think they have plan everything and end up have to place her post LB arc. I meant Tamamo OG hasn't get any upgrade, in the same year the sealed stone that said sealed her were broken, IRL. It was perfect timing to get her upgrade or introduce her Ameterasu (Beast potential) version.
Technically, it's not Rani VIII. Rani VIII is, after all, #8 in a series of Atlas-made homunculi. The ones in Paper Moon are Rani-series AI operating on Atlus hardware. So, same family tree, not the same character.

Let's talk about Cerberus's mother, Echidna. The figure that appears behind Saber Medusa during Skills is assumed to be her. Depending on how you interpret the text of Hesiod's "Theogony", Echidna is either Medusa's sister (not as a Gorgon, they had more siblings) or Medusa's granddaughter. Granted, Fate took a lot of liberties with Medusa and Gorgon sisters in general, so I'm not sure what's going on with their extended family in Fate lore. Speaking of which, the name of Saber Medusa's NP is Chrysaor. In myth Chrysaor and Pegasus were children of Medusa and Poseidon, who emerged from Medusa's neck stump after Perseus beheaded her. Gorgon's Bond CE seemingly confirms that there is a Chrysaor in Fate, who has a similar origin to the mythical version. Also, "Chrysaor" is said to mean either "golden sword" or "he who has a golden sword", which is why Medusa with it is a Saber.

Some later stuff, like in-game compendium from at least one of "Fate/Extella" games, acknowledge the mythical origin of Pegasus, so I'm not quite sure, what is the current canon regarding it.
For me, I also love when FGO introduces characters and servants related to India. This new arc in FGO has been a treasure trove of so many Indian characters and servants.
Nowadays every Stay/Night Servants are getting saber varients Saber is already Saber, Emiya as Muramasa, Cu as Setanta, Sasaki Kojiro in Shimousa and now Medusa. Wait for Heracles Saber and Medea Saber as well

One of my favorite mythologies is that of India, and a few weeks ago I had made designs of Parvati as a pseudo servant of the goddess Kali with an AI program, based on him. myth where it is said that parvati and kali are the same character
I think today the reveal of Goddess Durga and Kali was a surprise for everyone. This came out of nowhere and I'm very happy that they are part of the game now.

I think it's inevitable that Durga/Kali will be summonable. She has Ascensions and even a sprite. Definitely second banner type deal with her. And if not then, definitely in an Event, like a Ordeal Call 1.5 Event or something.
I honestly thought we'd never get Durga and/or Kali because of how FGO Parvati literally is unable to becone them because she's only made up of Sakura's positive traits. I know, before Kama happened, everyone thought the 'Dark Sakura' character would be Durga/Kali. Honestly hype they're finally part of FGO.
if we are getting kali, will shiva appear aswell? perhaps not summonable and only an npc but in myth it is stated only he can stop her rage becuase he is her husband and stuff.
The question is whether he's going to end up being a Shirou face or not. Although using archers extra's design for the face I think would fit quite well
Since Shiva is so ridiculously OP as a God ( One of the Supreme Trinity Gods, and the strongest at that), it would only be right to have him as a Shirou face. I want Shirou to be the vessel of every OP character. Our boy deserves it.
As I saw in another video. They wouldn't put this much effort into a character that wasn't summonable. Also from Greek lore it seems that Cerberus and Medusa were family. As stated in another comment, Medusa was probably, in some interpretation, Echidna's grandmother. And Echidna was the mother of Cerberus.
I've been wanting a Kali servant ever since Parvati appeared in Oõku, will definitely be saving for her, ever since Lady Avalon no new servant has really piqued my interest until her.

They nailed it!!! Though, I'm kinda scared. Because the Hindu associations will kinda go crazy on her clothing design. If that happens, I just wish they don't change her appearance.
Yea, Kali is quite impressive. I also don't understand why they decided to make the character design of Durga like this while Parvati looks so much more natural. They could have used Parvati's character design as a base for Durga as well.

For now she has only been released in JP. They will come to NA in 2025. To switch between them you have to change their Ascension from thier profile.

Durga design looks weird to me; she looks like a honkai impact character. Kali, on the other hand, has a better looking design than durga.
