Everything was perfect about him. There isn’t a more devilish looking character. Every time I see his face it freaks me out. He is naturally quiet, smiles like he’s about to open a present while murdering people, and the way he glided to the ground to face Cloud with the music is an iconic scene.
Late to this comment, but yeah he has ancient dna. All of the “‘materia” are simply an embedded stone of ancient dna. Thus the party don’t actually use the magic, they only channel it from the source. Where as he actually uses it. The only materia that sephiroth has to physically use, is the black materia/meteor. And that’s because it’s the byproduct of the earth itself, born from the corrupted lifestream, that the earth eventually would have channeled to destroy itself lol.
100% an AC reference...and I'm kinda wondering if it's supposed to symbolize us fighting against/stopping the world from heading into AC timeline potential. It's Square and it's their big flagship, none of this is just fanservice or chance...there's a reason for this, lol. Can't wait to see them clarify it.

There used to be a dark and mysterious atmosphere when sephiroth came on screen back in the day. But now he’s everywhere and over used and the mystery that made his character great is gone. 😢 very sad. The generation of instant gratification and over stimulation is ruining great stories and entertainment
Sephiroth's always been immensly powerful and possessed immense psychic and esoterical powers. But a lot of spin-offs and other stories focus on him being an absurdly skilled swordman and forget he has a gigantic list of powers. Plus in the remake continuity (SPOILER), it's heavily implied this Sephiroth is the one from the original game and continuity who managed to go back in time with all the powers he had already developped.
Sephiroth has technically used it at least once or twice in the original, but not to this scale. In AC he crumpled the Shinra tower to try to crush Cloud. "On your knees, I want you to beg for forgiveness." *Holds hands out, tower starts falling* But yeah, whatever the case, his power is scary levels

Way better than the original. Hate me all you want but the creator of this story even stated that he’s now making the game the way he originally intended without space and time constraints. This is the story we were meant to have. Should note tho, they are adding certain story elements to essentially take them to a new timeline where the intended story was meant to go.
Bro, the creator of THIS game was just a character designer back in the day, when ffVII came out, so the game "as was originally intended" is the one that we had in 1997, written by Yoshinori Kitase. Also, Tetsuya Nomura, the creator of the remake, is widely known for his poor writing skills

Whether it is a good game or a bad game, it doesn't bother me. BUT STILL, if you played the original final fantasy 7, you must know that the fact that Zack is alive means that cloud's whole characterisation makes no sense at all, and let's not talk about that random ass Sephiroth bossfight, which also made no sense
I preferred Sephiroth’s mystique in the original and all that was ruined in Remake. I still think it’s a great game and I’m still looking forward to Rebirth.
