I hadn't even realised that TT Artisan had branched out into autofocus David, that's a bold move, but maybe it's not quite as difficult as it once was for a smaller manufacturer. Flare was the main downside I noticed on the 50mm f2 (still haven't got round to doing a video) but other than that it was brilliant. If I was using it as my main lens I think the flare would annoy me because I do tend to shoot into the light quite a bit, it's just a look that I like (not with the flare of course). Nice to see it all the same, and you can probably bet that the next generation will be even better.
Yeah I actually was sent this in December and only recently got the release date so I’ve had a bit of time to run with it and as you say, apart from the flare it’s a really nice lens and it lives on the nex5 now. I think it was a logical next step to push into af lenses since they already have a pretty solid line up of manuals. It will be interesting to see what comes next from them 🖖
Yeah, I bet once they've got that one under their belt, and maybe sorted out any issues that arise with it, there'll be a load more exciting toys to play with.
4:38 I burst out laughing when I saw that. I've also tried 50 f1.2 and 25 f2 and they flare like crazy, especially the 25, sold that one, flaring was a deal breaker for night photography.
Rear lens cap is great I wish other 3rd party lens manufacturers took this approach

Interesting. I've been toying with the idea of getting this lens. You certainly managed to get some nice shots out of it.
Yeah it performed quite well. I’ve been a fan of ttartisan stuff for a while so I expected it to be decent. Shame about that flaring though.
Helpful review and great pictures, thanks for making this 🖖
Thanks for watching🖖
😊 the lens I'm been lookin for!!!!😊
If you can avoid the crazy rainbow flare it’s actually really good 🖖

It’s so close to being a truly solid lens but that flare just creeps up on you and ruins your day 😂
Great video 🖖🏻
Thanks Alex🖖
