More notes about khezu: 1. Dung bombs work like flash bombs against khezu (since he locates you with his sense of smell due to the lack of eyes). 2. When he does the electric shield attack, I like to stand behind him. If he starts turning to face you his next attack will never be the electric shield. Maybe lower dps this way but it's safer I think. And one more thing: When it does the thing where it sniffs the air and flies away after you bring its health low enough to be captured, I remembered that I once tripped it during the sniffing animation, and when it got back up, it did the sniffing animation again, I tripped it again and got it caught in a pattern this way. Edit: Not really a khezu tip, but a good trick in general: if you get knocked flat, you're actually invincible until you start getting up, if you don't press anything you can actually stay down longer and avoid attacks. Saved my ass against Tigrex's triple-charge many times, for instance.
1. I tried the dung bomb thing, it didn't seem to do anything, I heard about it after making the video, but I don't think it's really necessary, even if it does work. 2. You should be able to position yourself in front of it fine and avoid the next attack, just make sure you're not too close, but if that works for you, that's good. You're likely to bounce off its tail though, particularly at this point in the game. I think it's best to try and learn when and where it's safe to attack, and try to focus on the weak spots. Attack at an angle so you can roll to the left or right to avoid being in the AOE attack's range. The longer the fight takes, the more chances for something to go wrong, I never worry about dps or speedruns, but I always try to do as much as I can because of that. It's good to know about tripping it and then it doing the sniff thing again, I didn't mention that. I guess it's because that whole animation is part of it running away to sleep, and if you interrupt it, it'll start again from the beginning. There's a couple of similar things like that I think, though I dunno any of the top of my head. Thanks for watching! I appreciate the info/comment 🙂

I chose khezu thinking it would be fun but once he first popped up he scared the living shit outa me, I remember this one guy I’d always choose to play as he had a bow and a cool helmet on and he could shoot 3 arrows at once it was awsome, I remember one time when I started crying cause my cat friend got hurt that other cats came and put him on a strecher
@@HeadHunter455 I always wait for the Khezu's rage mode to simmer down if it ever goes to the ceiling though. I can detect it by its movements whether its sprinting or not.
I remember my first time... Used a long sword, devil slicer... Didn't even know if I did any damage. Decided to just use an HBG and cheese it. Didn't feel satisfied so just memorised everything, the moveset, and came back. Felt good
Nice to know you are still active after all the years, finally beat this monster with sleep bombing after enraging it 15 times. I think I made too much preparation, I upgraded my iron katana to a scythe and made an armor set with all thunder resistance. Literally a whole day worth
Hey, yep, I'm still at it as much as I'm able to 🙂 Haha, there's no such thing as too much preparation 😉 You can always use that extra prep for future fights or to make farming it a bit easier, but I get what you mean, good job!! Keep it up 😊
Remember when i first played FU as a kid, this fucker gave me hell, it took weeks to beat him. Now, a few years later i hunt him for fun and is a pretty easy fight. Great video.
YOOOO HEDDY I DID IT!!! THAT WAS THE MOST FUN (and frustrating) EXPERIENCE SO FAR IN MY PLAYTHROUGH! At first, I thought I was ready. But when I first saw him, I just blacked out lmao. I forgot everything I that watched, memorized, gone.I just got flung around by it and all I can do was scream in horror before it squished me to death. Tbh, my hands were shaking after that XD. But I took a break and ate my snack, and when I came back, I played a bit more in the defensive side, I just watched his movements for a bit, and then attacked when I saw an opportunity. I did that for a while, then It flew back to area 3. I was there before him, so I saw it limping before it slept. I got a sudden surge of confidence AND JUST RAN TO IT AND FINISHED IT OFF LMAOOO (the tank still took a few hits apparently). I'm currently home alone so I SHOUTED AS LOUD AS I CAN HAHAHA BEFORE AND AFTER IT DIED (Sorry neighbors). Thanks for the tips heddy! PS: sorry if this comment was long, but I've never been so interested so much in a game in my entire life. I just want to share my excitement lol. (Can't share them with my friends cuz they don't play mh so i think they wont get it lmao). I'll keep sharing my future experience if I can, and I apologize to the people that see my comments if it bugs them off. :)
Nice!! Good job! 😄😄 Yeah! Keeping your distance and an eye on the monster to get a feel for its movements is a super good idea, I recommend it even if you know the monster very well and are just getting thrown around for a bit. That's really awesome, I'm glad you're having such a great experience with the game haha, keep it up!! 😃
Are you going to do G-Rank guides for monsters? They have a few new movesets in that rank which surprises most players. Great job on the tuts by the way
Yep, I'm planning on covering all of the monsters/key quests through Low and High (village quests) and G rank, I'm not 100% sure how just yet, but for now I'm doing low rank things for sure 🙂 Thanks for watching!
I tried taking on Khezu with the War Drum hunting horn. went through all of my mega potions, paint balls, hot drinks, whetstones, well-done steaks, shock trap, etc. in the end, I got KO'ed for the third time with less than 5 minutes left for the quest. He was limping, but my horn was broken, my character was cold, hungry, and severely lacking on supplies to complete the quest. I'll have to prepare better next time. I might just go with the great sword to kill it faster. I want to kill him with the hunting horn though. I know its possible, but I have to show up with more materials. haha
Oof, yeah! You can do it with the hunting horn 😄 I'm sure the next time will go better, a little patience and preparation can go a long way, you got this!! 🙂
Ok heddy. Hear me out. I know I just commented on another video of yours, but I checked this guy out because I know he's next. I saw the comments. Again. I'll try to bring extra pants when I fight Khezu. If you don't hear from me in a while, that means he beat the life out of me and I'm undergoing my training/grinding arc. :) Btw I died when you said his tail whip is "pathetic" lmaooo
Yeah the roar is very fast, if it helps, he won't roar after turning, I think. Otherwise I think you need to react to it, not too sure. If you really need to, consider bringing the High Grade Earplugs armor skill so you don't need to block it. Good luck!! 🙂
I remember I fought it for two times the second time I used a bow gun and got it so low and then it went to sleep I shot at it but I got knocked around by giaprey and then killed by the khezu,I didn't know you could even capture monsters...
I love your videos, lately I have been playing with a friend but I'm not sure in wich weapon use. I would really appreciate a recomendation. Btw great videos I can't wait to the plesioth guide (and sorry for the bad english :c)
No problem, I understood your message 🙂 I'm glad you like my videos 😄 As for what weapon to use, it really just depends on what you want to do. Hunting Horn can buff yourself and teammates, Light Bowgun can paralyze the monster, put it to sleep and poison it quite well, and so can Bow and Heavy Bowgun. Hammer can help knock out the monster Long Sword can be a bit troublesome, the attacks sweep around a lot, and you may hit your friend. Sword and Shield is a great general use weapon, and with some armor skills you can be supportive as well. If you can, try to pick any of the 11 weapons that sounds the coolest to you, really, and go from there. If you like the look/style of a weapon, but not how it actually plays, that's fine, and you can keep looking, but it's a good start! Some weapons have steeper learning curves than others, so try not to get discouraged! 😀 Plesioth is gonna be rough haha 😅😅

lol thanks, there are a few specific monsters and situations where traps don't work, like Rajang, Nargacuga, and Garuga. Also, Khezu's not immune to paralysis. Thanks for watching, glad I could help ya'll out :)
I fear no man. But that...... thing....... it scares me. (tbh it's pretty unnatural looking and sounding, it's a great design, but wow yikes, definitely nightmare fuel)
Tips and tricks if new player is playing this in 2021: 1:So you get him weaken and you decide to use a shocktrap to capture him Uhhh that was a bad idea for new players dont do it in the start if you just want to use a knife instead of capturing it make sure you use a different trap not a shock one i did that and it absord the electronics and i died and i deafeat him but it take a while 2:Dont aim in the tail body only head what i mean is sometimes his body are hard his tail is hard if your using katana greatsword or lance hammer or bow aim in the head and if your a bow user you wont worry about waiting the eletric jump attack he did 3:i recommend you use katana greatsword lance hammer or bow since greatsword can defend katana is the damage dealer also have an cat that can throw bombs and have some good armour and food and also great potions Those my tips and ifs those tricks was on video im sorry
You can hit his legs/body without bouncing, but not the tail. I recommended an armor set in the video... Eating in the kitchen is optional, this early on in my video series I was focusing on going in without items and using items from the box, but throughout the series I purposefully use a minimalist loadout and expect players to fill in the blanks if they want to bring extra things that fit their playstyle, such as power juice, traps, bombs, a different weapon/armor etc. I'm going to assume you watched the video, and you're just saying the last bit as a just in case you forgot or didn't notice something, I appreciate you adding that.
hmm i'm wang to ask,if it hard to fight khezu in urgent quest? because i'm many time to defeat khezu but always lose...and my question is,if i'm use a range weapon like LBG or HBG if it okay? i'm sorry if my question is stupid to ask 😓
Khezu is quite difficult for your first time. Ranged weapons can work fine, but you need to watch out for his ranged and jumping attacks. You could try to get close with an LBG to bait out his AOE attack, and then back up and shoot and keep doing that or shoot from a range but remember he's going to jump at you and shoot electric balls which might be hard to avoid.
Later Me: OH FUDGE, OH GOD *Swings sword and miss* DAMMIT...LEMME HIT YOUR NECK DAMMIT, AHHHHHHHHHHHHH Hunter: Yep, he can do it Me: [BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP]
It only has yellow sharpness, so I believe it may be too dull. Does it bounce on every part of Khezu? I'd say try to upgrade your weapon and/or try to get at least green sharpness. Does it bounce even when you play the W-W song twice? That's supposed to make your weapon bounce less.
I can't fight it with my bone sword "shark" because it deflects all my attacks. Do you have any idea how to solve this? I'm looking forward for your response 🙏
Yes, Long Sword can do very well against Khezu, but you have to really focus on mobility and avoiding its attacks, especially as you learn how to fight it better over time. Play it slow and safe, and definitely make sure you have a way out. I'd say for a weapon, try and get the Iron Katana "Gospel" not only is it a great sword, it upgrades into Eager Cleaver, which you 1000000% want to have, seriously, it's one of the best weapon lines in the game, at least for Long Sword. But yeah anyways, and also try to get the armor I recommend in the video if you're taking too much damage. I chose it because it was easy to get and had decent defense and thunder resistance. Good luck! 😄
Well, those values are taken straight from a guide that I didn't make, but they do go into detail about the formula and how higher ranks affect those, from what I can tell it's just a multiplier, I included them to just give a general idea of how dangerous an attack is. If one has a value of 25 for example, it's not too terrible, but if it's like 85, then that might one shot you or something, you know? For more information, definitely check out the guide itself: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57142
Khezu's wings and tail are particularly hard, from what I can remember. You want to avoid hitting certain parts of monsters, and you need to use a weapon with more sharpness. The Bone Katana "Shark" has green sharpness, but very little of it, yellow sharpness and below causes a lot of problems you don't want to deal with, you should try and get a weapon with more and/or better sharpness, and try and hit Khezu's head or legs, as you shouldn't bounce as much when hitting them. If your weapon drops a level of sharpness, you'll want to sharpen it back up. I hope you have better luck next time, don't give up! If you're not sure which weapon to use, check this guide for help on that: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57283
Make sure you avoid the front of Khezu, he can spit electric balls and bite and jump forward. He does a LOT of damage, especially if he's enraged, avoid his attacks as much as possible and heal as close to max as you can. You should be able to upgrade into Hunter's Bow 3 they're both good bows, they have a rapid type of shot which is great for dealing damage to a specific target, which is usually a pretty good idea Be sure to take 50 power coatings, you should be able to buy them from the shop lady to the left of the armory, I believe low rank quests also give you, like, 20 power coatings? You can go back to camp to get them if you run out. If you can, also bring nitroshrooms and empty bottles and enough combine books to make more power coatings during the hunt *just in case* Stamina is important for bow users, I honestly should've included this in my bow guide (and db and hammer) but I didn't really know then, but Power Juice is really easy to make and gives you infinite stamina for 2 minutes, it's extremely useful and I use it all the time. You combine honey with a bitterbug to get a catalyst, then combine that with a rare steak, you can get rare steaks through the cooking minigame with the BBQ spit, just take it off the fire sooner than normal, the first time the color of the meat changes, the window is big so it shouldn't be too hard. Also, bring power seeds if you can, and maintain the buff with power juice, they have the same duration, and the game tells you when the power juice wears off, so you can take them at the same time, and when the power juice wears off, take both of them again. Hopefully that helps! Good luck! Take your time, take a break if you need to, your hard work will pay off! 🙂 Thanks for watching 😊
You get all "+" materials from high rank, same with Tan Khezu Hides. Keep going through the Village Elder's quests and once you finish the key quests for her, you'll be able to take quests from the cat next to her. Eventually the cat will give you a Khezu quest which can give you those materials.
Well, any time the monster deviates from it's standing still animation, it's doing something, and there's a rhythm to it, you can anticipate that it will do *something* whether that be turning, attacking, running, roaring, etc. and that puts you in a good place to react to it. Try and find what is different about each action, there's something about almost every attack/move from every monster that is different in some way, the roars being a more unique type of action a monster can take. Khezu will raise his head and arch it a bit before roaring, if you can block, that would be the time to do it. You can do it, maybe go into a hunt and try to anticipate the roar, be very defensive, you can be more aggressive once you're more comfortable with dealing with the dangers and troubles that the hunt presents you.
Yeah, dual blades does effective. Like every weapon in the game, some monsters are better fought with some weapons, just experiment and use what you like, you can make anything work, but also try and get used to a variety of play styles, eventually, just so you have a smoother time in the later game where there's less margin for error, less room for expression.
The penis foreskin wyvern. I remember this guy gave me trouble because I didn't payed too much attention to skills and didn't had the scream protection, and I was using either Long Sword because I was a noob, or Hammer because I saw the heavy damage. Anyway, it always paralyzed me with its screams and mostly kill me. It bullied me a lot, until I was fooling around Hunting School Arena, did challenges and learned A LOT about skills and that you could block the scream. Then I beat it easier, first with Sword Shield, then Great Sword then the rest of weapons.
Short answer: it depends Long answer: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/59065 monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Khezu_Carves
I mean... you sure could shell Khezu there, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it since there's no reason to. It wont take more damage there or anything. Shelling will deal mostly flat damage to any body part, which is good for when hitting the part normally would be weaker, but you ideally want to hit the weak spots, as your melee hits will typically do more damage.
The hammer is the most effective wpn to kill khezu, by doing super pound or lvl 1 charge while it shots paralysis or AOE just wait for it n try to aim PD: it doesn't get stun by hammer or Horn
"Don't get greedy" Me who try attempt to kill Khezu 5 times and still goddamn lost: Yeah I don't get greedy.. kinda.. EDIT:I finally kill Khezu in the quest and i got in 3 Stars village's mission right now which is good but NOT GOOD AS THAT WHEN THERE IS MORE MONSTER THAT I COULD GRIND MORE
Haha, I do it sometimes too tbh, sometimes the fight is just going so slowly and I try to make it a little faster or act out of order on accident and it ends up costing me 😭😭
@@HeadHunter455 That's true that's why Im upgrade my Greatsword and Grind alot to focus aiming on head to kill Khezu so hard and i would finally get past Village 3 stars and get a Light Crystal
I got into playing mhfu again but it's on a emulator on my phone. I always use a longsword when fighting the khezu. It can't block the roars but that retreating slash is a useful ability to have especially to players that can't evade that fast (that small jump can be a lifesaver or a deathwish). Khezu's weakness is fire so use any weapon that has any fire attribute, not only does it make fights a bit faster since your attacks deal damage based on both physical and elemental stats. You can capture Khezu with two tranq bombs if you bullied him enough while sniffing the air. Khezu in the swamp is a manace. I think you'll face a khezu on the swamps and one of the things he'll do is stick to the ceiling and won't go down until you either lure him or do something (idk, my old save is gone now and I'm using a new character in my emulator). Its tail can't be properly attacked, it'll bounce back (idk if there's a specific sharpness level but all I know is that its tail can't be attacked). You can get electro sacs from it and you can use this as a ingredient for two weapons: the thunderbane and the eager cleaver.
Ok...i have one big question... Is.. How do you scars his head?????? I try everything and it didn't even scarshis head I try only attack his face and nothing else and didn't work....more like how did you scars any monster in this game I never seen scars show up on monster in this game....
You just have to hit it in the head a lot, I don't know the specifics of how breaking parts works in this game, it could be you have to stagger a part multiple times, and there are HP stagger limits that we know of, but yeah I dunno. Some parts are harder to break than others for various reasons. I'm not sure of any specifics for Khezu, but some of my fights with him don't necessarily scar his head or body, just depends on how things go, meanwhile most of my rathalos and rathian fights end with their heads being broken >.
Hey, yep, I sure will, I'm going to (try to) cover all of the monsters in the game eventually. Kushala will be a bit, unfortunately, but I'll get to him 😉

I'm plating this game right now and I didn't see the khezu and decided to go every single area but its not there. it must be a bug or i just have to wait to a certain area. sometimes he just appeared in area 1 lol.
Sometimes monsters will unfortunately move around in a way that you just miss them as you get to where they were. You can buy "Psychoserum" from the Granny Peddler next to the guild hall, I recommend stocking up on those and using them when you're not quite sure where the monster is.
gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/59065 This guide can cover the specifics, but, BASICALLY: When you kill a monster, you USUALLY get 3 carves from its body. When you capture a monster you are trading the ~three carves you would've gotten, for 2 to 3 items in the reward box. Of course, not all monsters can be captured, but something like a Khezu can. Carve and Capture rates can be different, and give you different items. It can be useful to look this up, if you google "MHFU Khezu Carves" you should find useful information about what a monster gives you at what point in the game, and what you should do to get those items. Good luck! 🙂
Remember, don't stand at front of khezu before or after khezu released thunder breath because I found hitbox after khezu released thunder breath, so stay away

More notes about khezu:

I know its possible, but I have to show up with more materials. haha

No problem, I understood your message 🙂
I'm glad you like my videos 😄
As for what weapon to use, it really just depends on what you want to do.
Hunting Horn can buff yourself and teammates,
Light Bowgun can paralyze the monster, put it to sleep and poison it quite well, and so can Bow and Heavy Bowgun.
Hammer can help knock out the monster
Long Sword can be a bit troublesome, the attacks sweep around a lot, and you may hit your friend.
Plesioth is gonna be rough haha 😅😅

1:So you get him weaken and you decide to use a shocktrap to capture him Uhhh that was a bad idea for new players dont do it in the start if you just want to use a knife instead of capturing it make sure you use a different trap not a shock one i did that and it absord the electronics and i died and i deafeat him but it take a while
2:Dont aim in the tail body only head what i mean is sometimes his body are hard his tail is hard if your using katana greatsword or lance hammer or bow aim in the head and if your a bow user you wont worry about waiting the eletric jump attack he did
3:i recommend you use katana greatsword lance hammer or bow since greatsword can defend katana is the damage dealer also have an cat that can throw bombs and have some good armour and food and also great potions
Those my tips and ifs those tricks was on video im sorry
You could try to get close with an LBG to bait out his AOE attack, and then back up and shoot and keep doing that or shoot from a range but remember he's going to jump at you and shoot electric balls which might be hard to avoid.
ok thanks 😁

my Wardrum (HH) keep bouncing, is the weapon too dull or it's not suitable for Khezu?
It only has yellow sharpness, so I believe it may be too dull.
Does it bounce on every part of Khezu?
I'd say try to upgrade your weapon and/or try to get at least green sharpness.
Does it bounce even when you play the W-W song twice? That's supposed to make your weapon bounce less.
I watch all of his guides after defeating that monster😅
😄 Glad to hear it, keep it up!

"Khezu can be fast.......but he is still somewhat slow"
Logic: YES...WAIT NO.
I can't fight it with my bone sword "shark" because it deflects all my attacks. Do you have any idea how to solve this?
I'm looking forward for your response 🙏
ruclips.net/video/WqStK2ueh0k/видео.html
I've made a LS guide for Khezu here, I'd recommend checking it out and using the weapon in that video.
Is it fine using a long sword in this quest?
Km using the bone katana wolf btw
Good luck! 😄
HeadHunter455 thanks! Youre really a big help :D keep it up!
Do you cover monster attack differences between ranks. Still love these guides though
For more information, definitely check out the guide itself:
gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/57142
Why do my longsword bounce? I used Bone Katana "Shark" and the bounce frustrated me so much :(
Khezu's wings and tail are particularly hard, from what I can remember.

Flabby Hide+ are from High Rank Khezu, most "+" items are from high rank quests.
High rank is Village 7★, or HR6 in the guild hall.
Oh ok thank you bro
High rank khezu has more chill than low rank for some reason , his cave climbing attacks seem so slow.
@@fireweaver3606
Try to slay it if you can.
It means they are more tanky than before.
any tips for bow users? I'm new to this game, using a hunter's bow 2.
Make sure you avoid the front of Khezu, he can spit electric balls and bite and jump forward. He does a LOT of damage, especially if he's enraged, avoid his attacks as much as possible and heal as close to max as you can.
You should be able to upgrade into Hunter's Bow 3 they're both good bows, they have a rapid type of shot which is great for dealing damage to a specific target, which is usually a pretty good idea
Be sure to take 50 power coatings, you should be able to buy them from the shop lady to the left of the armory, I believe low rank quests also give you, like, 20 power coatings? You can go back to camp to get them if you run out. If you can, also bring nitroshrooms and empty bottles and enough combine books to make more power coatings during the hunt *just in case*
Stamina is important for bow users, I honestly should've included this in my bow guide (and db and hammer) but I didn't really know then, but Power Juice is really easy to make and gives you infinite stamina for 2 minutes, it's extremely useful and I use it all the time.
So.... How can i get khezu hide - tan or rubbery hide+? Its related to khezu right?
You get all "+" materials from high rank, same with Tan Khezu Hides.
Keep going through the Village Elder's quests and once you finish the key quests for her, you'll be able to take quests from the cat next to her. Eventually the cat will give you a Khezu quest which can give you those materials.

😄😄
@@HeadHunter455 Btw I always hated that Khezu, so annoying with the electric beams
Ah yes. The Numb Body with wings.
How do you tell when he's about to roar? Cause I can't possibly react to that
Well, any time the monster deviates from it's standing still animation, it's doing something, and there's a rhythm to it, you can anticipate that it will do *something* whether that be turning, attacking, running, roaring, etc. and that puts you in a good place to react to it.
He looks like Gergoth-
lmao yeah he does kinda
Hi head hunter I know this a old video I have question does dual blades effective or not?
Yeah, dual blades does effective. Like every weapon in the game, some monsters are better fought with some weapons, just experiment and use what you like, you can make anything work, but also try and get used to a variety of play styles, eventually, just so you have a smoother time in the later game where there's less margin for error, less room for expression.

Anyway, it always paralyzed me with its screams and mostly kill me. It bullied me a lot, until I was fooling around Hunting School Arena, did challenges and learned A LOT about skills and that you could block the scream. It's better to kill or to capture? I mean in general, not just with khezu.
Short answer: it depends
Long answer:
gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/faqs/59065
monsterhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Khezu_Carves
Something I found out about khezu is its weak if you shell its tail when its gathering electricity from the ground
I mean... you sure could shell Khezu there, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it since there's no reason to.
It wont take more damage there or anything. Shelling will deal mostly flat damage to any body part, which is good for when hitting the part normally would be weaker, but you ideally want to hit the weak spots, as your melee hits will typically do more damage.
The hammer is the most effective wpn to kill khezu, by doing super pound or lvl 1 charge while it shots paralysis or AOE just wait for it n try to aim
PD: it doesn't get stun by hammer or Horn
Yep, hammer can do work against Khezu for sure 🙂
Actually it is possible to stun Khezu but...Khezu also quite resistant to stun so it will take time to stun him

Do people even notice that at the end of Khezu's roar/screech you can hear the Among us theme, I'm not joking it literally plays mid screech
lmao 😅
