I love at 5:55: Gould says when he goes into the recording studio he is inspired to "be expansive," and to "feel levels of things you cannot see." These two characteristics permeate his recordings. The expansiveness and the untouchable transcendence of Gould's work is unparalleled. Praise Gould. Gould is great.
God damn it... I love him so much! As much, if not more, a flawed individual as any of us..., but a genius, and even more importantly, a gentle yet un-afraid soul.
What a genius Gould was! Particularly, I love what he says in the end! (About performing any known piece from a different point of view, that’s my goal as well as a future concert pianist)
I have no idea about his personal life how it was. What I sense from his work as a pianist, especially with the Bach music, just he was a pure genius and devotional successor. And still is through his performance.
If you're interested in his intellectual life in his own words, the book The Art o f Glenn Gould, edited by P.L. Robert's, Gould's lifelong friend. Gould is a great authority on his own thinking: totally original. I love it when he cracks himself up and/or corrects himself.
Awesome! Body language 1:10 actually says: Glenn: I will find a reason to play and record Bourre1 once more Studio guys: Pls Mr Gould, it's been 9 hours since we started today; the record is just fine!
Aspie putting forth only the goodness of his affliction. Perhaps, yes... torturing those with whom he had personal relationship with, but none the less, a gift to the world.
me editing my stuff on my Mixcraft DAW: "Let's cut this part from take 6 and add it to take 7. Oop, I time-stretched it while trying to move it. Playback: it's cool, just keep it that way..."
Yes. Little things like this, in my estimation, have a great deal more impact in making him the extraordinary individual he was than many people would accept as valid. Such a physical condition, must, to some extent, influence hearing.
I don't get this genius, genius, genius. It sounds mechanical, unphrased, unfeeling. Why on Earth would the two Bourrés be different tempos? Does he really think dances would slow down and speed up in the middle of a dance? There are so many pianists out there that play Bach wonderfully, Gould did when he was younger, why do people settle for this?

Genial siempre.
I wished I could have this feeling of being able to play any piece of Bach as he did.
@Independent Mind Well, at least we can ululate the same as he did.
glenn always teaching music

¡Maravilloso todo el conjunto!
¡Pero qué tremendo trabajito de edición!...

La edición antes, con reels de cintas, hoy al toque de un click...como avanzo mucho la tecnologia
I can't help being distracted by Gould's bluest of blue eyes!
He brings out my inner fan-girl

Then this will interest you, he was almost as eccentric as he was a genius. ruclips.net/video/rHImF-rmjP4/видео.html
He was taking a lot of vitamins and was a night owl

Qué hermoso que es! Es muy coherente y consistente en sus argumentos. Y a la vez es bello, grácil, ético en la ejecución.
Glenn Unico!

English suites are Glenn Gould's finest recordings, IMHO
They are. So are the toccatas.
So are Goldberg variations
@@sebastianhernandez9631 absolutely. Suites, Toccatas & GV he recorded at his peak of maturity.
Speechless
Pure genius
Fantàstic!
Гений!
Неповторимый Гленн
El mejor

Too many pills
If James Dean & Marlon Brando had a baby it would be Glenn Gould ;) What a talent.
grazie

Una pena porque, era guapísimo, pero guapísimo.

Portrait of a very sane perfectionist.
i dont like this fake music
Okay
Please explain: in what way is it, in your humble opinion, 'fake'?
Oh boy, always these scripted pseudo-intellectual interviews by Gould...🤮
Amusing when little piss ants attempt to bring down talent.
