I really like Jabari because he's the most underappreciated of the core seven. He plays a really unselfish brand of basketball, which is perfect when Dillion, Jalen, and Fred take heat checks every other possession. He plays solid perimeter defense, has become a more intentional rim protector during this good stretch, has been over 40% from deep for the past two weeks, and still plays within his role. He is the archetype of a player every championship team would pay top dollar for but we might be able to get him on the cheaper side since Alpi and Jalen took pay cuts on their extension to help the team.

Die hard Houston rockets fan here! It’s so hard to pick one, but my three favorites are Sengun, Amen and Cam. Sengun is the most consistent at this time. He brings a bunch of dog to him. Amen actually might be my favorite player to watch on the team. His defense is absolutely incredible. Even though Cam has not gotten the minutes he deserves, he’s a super popular Rockets player. When we were tanking, my favorite player was JT, he always played well no matter what, and it sucked for him especially when he went undrafted and went and played in Germany and Australia but eventually made his way to the NBA only to be on a tanking team and now that were doing good he's getting pushed out of rotation. He is still one of my favorite players besides Amen, Cam, Tari, Dillon, Jabari and Sengun. I really don't want to see JT get traded but if he does, I'll always support him.
The only trade I would be interested in at the trade deadline is for Ausar Thompson. That speaks to how much I like Amen. I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the Devin Booker trade but if Detroit is open to trading him, I would give up quite a bit. This team thrives on defensive intensity, but you wear down over the season - you want as many guys like Tari Eason and the Thompson Twins as possible. Honestly, I don't want them to mess with the current chemistry of the team - just play out the season and see what happens - how can you argue with 2nd place in the West? Don't mess with what isn't broke.
48 minutes every game for an opposing offensive player being guarded by one of the Thompson's would be hilarious and awesome. at certain points you could switch as well with for example SGA or Edwards going from being guarded by Amen to being guarded by Auser.

Point four: I like that you talked about the trade with the Nets...a 1st rounder & swap for two 1st rounders and 2 swaps from the Suns and I know you and others point to that for the Rockets going after Booker or KD. You forget a different possible reason Stone did that. As you pointed out they have 2 first + 1 swap in 2027 & 2029. This is the Rockets' timeline when they will be full of max contracts from their young core and they will start to lose some to free agency at that point and later. These 4 first rounders gives them an injection of young talent on cheap rookie contracts that they will need to extend their dominance. This makes so much more sense than using those draft picks to trade for Booker (as you think they will). Point five: If the Rockets don't make a deal with the Suns that includes the Suns not getting back their 2027 & 2029 picks, then that makes a successful Suns' rebuild that much harder and that will benefit the Rockets in the West. Also, don't forget that the Rockets have the Suns' 2025 pick and as of now it would be a lottery pick (#12)...plus, the Suns are one injury away (and KD is injury prone) from making that a top 7 pick...WOW, what a great trade with the Nets. That isn’t a terrible idea. The Wolves are a terribly managed team. You’re likely to get the better of any trade with them. Just look at their last few trades for Gobert and to get rid of Towns. They’re a terribly coached team too and I think they are really holding Ant back. It is only a matter of time before they fall off a cliff and what better way to rebuild than to get all those picks and some young players from the Rockets? As a Rockets fan, i would not make a big time trade this season. Focus on the development of Amen Thompson as our Long term Point guard. Amen and Sengun duo will be beyond amazing
Out of the core 7, I’m willing to part ways with Reed and Jalen in order to obtain a name brand star player. Sengun, Tari, Amen, Brooks, and Jabari, with Cam off the bench. That would be a tall, talented, aggressive line up. If name brand star player is a scorer, we are set. Just need a good big back up and a sharp shooter off the bench. Otherwise, Trade Fred, Reed, picks for star player like Butler.
I would say ride out the roster this season and hope for the Jabari, Cam and Reed to grow as offensive weapon. If Jabari can consistently give us 20pts and Cam/Reed filling up 10pts each will make us better offensive team. Jalen ain’t playing good but Fox and Bookers price tag is too high for the package we need to ship out
I hope we leave the team untouched and grow this team into a dynasty like the Warriors did. You don't have to always trade for star players. Especially when you're already playing at a high clip. I like where everyone is at. However we drafted Reed pretty high at 3rd overall and he doesn't have room to groom like I thought.

Out of the core 7, I’m willing to part ways with Reed and Jalen in order to obtain a name brand star player.
Sengun, Tari, Amen, Brooks, and Jabari, with Cam off the bench. That would be a tall, talented, aggressive line up. If name brand star player is a scorer, we are set. Just need a good big back up and a sharp shooter off the bench.
Otherwise, Trade Fred, Reed, picks for star player like Butler.
Jabari Smith Jr. 1-5 beast. Amen, Cam, and Tari as well.

I would say ride out the roster this season and hope for the Jabari, Cam and Reed to grow as offensive weapon. If Jabari can consistently give us 20pts and Cam/Reed filling up 10pts each will make us better offensive team. Jalen ain’t playing good but Fox and Bookers price tag is too high for the package we need to ship out

I hope we leave the team untouched and grow this team into a dynasty like the Warriors did. You don't have to always trade for star players. Especially when you're already playing at a high clip. I like where everyone is at. However we drafted Reed pretty high at 3rd overall and he doesn't have room to groom like I thought.

I'm only interested in fox if he becomes available 1 because he is still young enough he can grow with this young core. 2 we are winning right now with van vleet who stinks and should never be anymore than a back up. The only untradeable players for me would be amen and sengun. Eason is a good defender but it's not like there isn't more of his player build like him in the nba. I did not say jalen green who is also a problem because I was saying all year and the last year the better player is cam whitmore and to play him the dude gets bucks and can shoot he is better than jalen green he needs the opportunity to show it
Only problem with Cam as of now is that he is not a teamplayer yet. As soon as he develops his IQ and teamplaying mentality the sky is the limit for him.

I think it’s Giannis or small trade. Rockets won’t do it, but I would consider giving up both sengun and jalen green for him. Including both would probably only require one or 2 first round picks. Giannis, jabari, brooks, amen, vanvleet would be a good starting 5.
