The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is an all-weather, twin-engine, carrier-capable, multirole combat aircraft, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (hence the F/A designation). Designed by McDonnell Douglas and Northrop, the F/A-18 was derived from the latter's YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations, and formerly by the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.
The Russian Navy (Russian: Военно-морской флот [ВМФ], romanized: Voyenno-morskoi flot [VMF], lit. '"Military Maritime Fleet"') is the naval arm of the Russian Armed Forces. It has existed in various forms since 1696; its present iteration was formed in January 1992 when it succeeded the Navy of the Commonwealth of Independent States (which had itself succeeded the Soviet Navy following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in late December 1991).

I served in Russian Navy and all this looks very close to actual outcome of such an attack: Kuznetsov would surely never go alone and this little ships have no airdefence, exept the big long ships Moscow-class, and what those would have would not be enough to stop such a massive attack. Though shooting down some hornets would be more than possible!

+1 or 2 seaflankers Su-33 would be in the air with in a 2 minutes and would try add some damage to Hornets. IF the damage done to Kuznetsov is not connected to launching jets and crew More flankers after 10minutes would than also be in the air but that is a complete other story
