Rangers vs Devils is one of the best rivalries in the NHL.

Benn will always be a favorite of mine. When he is having a great season, which have been most of his seasons in his career, he is so fucking well-rounded. He can score, has sick hands, great passing, great forechecking, back checking, hitting, fighting, leading a team, etc. He has it all when he is on.

So your take is that Hellebuyck should have jumped up and dove in front of the net without a mask and taken a slapshot off his face to make a save because that's the rule and that's what the league wants? The same league that is now forcing players to wear helmets during warm-ups for ''safety''. That same game those refs also didn't blow their whistle after the puck clearly hit the over the glass netting which resulted in a goal after everyone stopped playing and it needed a coach challenge to reverse it. Those refs were sleeping the whole game. Mask comes off, no matter what you blow it and if it was intentional you assess a penalty (delay, misconduct, whatever)

not to mention earlier in that Dallas game, Oettinger lost his pad, and the refs blew the play immediately. so dumb, that tying goal should not have counted. it is what it is,

Pens vs Flyers rivalry feels like it fizzled out in the last decade. I'd argue that the Pens vs Capitals has become the biggest, more primetime rivalry for Pittsburgh. Anytime those two teams play each other, it feels like a playoff game. Always competitive. Always momentum swinging. Sid vs Ovi. A much more fun matchup, in my opinion. Pens/Flyers doesn't feel like it heats up outside of playoffs anymore.

Simple fix to the goalie losing helmet rule. Whistle should be blown every single time. If it's sketchy, its reviewed. If goalie intentionally does it, its a minor penalty.

Horrible take about goalies helmets. They definitely cannot throw it off with a flick of their head. If you get hit with 100 mile an hour slap shot and a buckle comes off then yes you could flick it off but not normally when it’s on.
