👍Your interpretation of english grammer is very good. Better than many U,S, born citizens. I compliment your interpretation/problem solving skill. You probably already know the following information, but I'd like to offer a bit more clarification to assist you in case you do not already know.
"On the bed" means where a person is physically located.
"In bed" (no 'the') is a way of saying "asleep" or "sleeping"
A person sleeping anywhere (bed, floor, couch) is "In bed" when you don't use 'the' when you say it. So it would be correct to say "My wife and I were arguing, so that night I was in bed on the couch when the phone rang."
For most of us stupid Americans, saying 'the' before a word almost always means that whatever word follows 'the' should be thought of as an actual, often specific, physical thing that is mentioned. To Americans, 'the (_____)' is basically meant to make the listener think about a literal, real world thing, usually a specific example that relates to whatever is being discussed. I should also say that using 'a' instead of 'the' is very similar but the difference is 'a' means any general example of whatever is mentioned. Having no 'the' or 'a' most often means whatever is mentioned is nonphysical, more of an idea not a thing. In most spanish variations replace their version of 'the' or 'a' with something else instead of removing them completely in similar situations I think which is probably why there is often some confusion.
'On the' and 'In the' = often literal - location, placement, position, orientation
'On' and 'In' no 'the' = often figurative - state of mind, state of being, nonphysical ideas, concepts
I apologize if you already understand this and I'm sorry if my comment has been unwelcomed for any reason. I only hoped to help your understanding for your benefit. The way most Americans speak probably doesn't make it any easier.

Brilliant! I can so relate to the story about toilet paper in public toilets .....after spending 3 months in Chile, this was one of the seemingly small things that made me realize what a privilege clean public toilets with toilet paper really is. Another thing was the value and importance of registering your dog......there were large numbers of dogs in the street, sleeping in shopfronts and generally fouling up the place.....

I am so glad that I got on/in this comedian. Once I became aware of his countenance and delivery help but really focus on his expressions and there were many what a real champ he is I hope I see him again or I may just re-watched this sometime when I need to be focused on a comedian I would like to be like if I was going to endeavour to be a comedian. After seeing his style maybe I could learn a lot just by watching him in his originality I truly hope I hear more of him.
