It maps as it cleans and it does it the first time it runs. After that it uses the saved maps which can be used for targeted cleaning of a certain section of a room if required. Normally it would move along the boundaries and then clean within, but makes navigation changes as per obstacles present using the LIDAR.

Suction and battery is higher on the V3, but the SE is no slouch either and is quite a capable robot vacuum. It works as well as the V3 so it will not disappoint.
To control via the app it needs to be connected to wifi. You can manually start/stop cleaning by tapping on the power button on top. Multiple mobile's can be logged into the mi app to control the device.

It would only show the 2.4 GHz band when trying to connect to the router. Make sure to switch to the 2.4 GHz band on your phone before the pairing process to ease pairing as it takes the credentials from your phone.
I've used only the 360 S7, the viomi has a lower profile and can also clean under sofa's. Both navigate well enough with the 360 models being a bit better. Mopping the Viomi does have the option of the 550 ml water tank , so no need to keep filling multiple times.

But it needs to be turned on everytime. Im not sure of the shortcut for sport cleaning as some vacuums have a hold power button for 3 seconds to spot clean, but this doesny have it.

I didn’t tried 2 in 1tank.used vacuum and mop binseparately.Even when the machine is not running mop is getting fully soaked and I had to squeeze the mop manually and then tried again.the same repeated

Hi, the robot generates a map of the house during its first run using its LIDAR sensor, the small tower on top. As it moves around the house it keeps adding to the map. Just make sure it moves all around the house where you need it to clean. Once it returns to its dock the map is saved.
Thanks for these videos Vinayak. I like your review style. 1 question - when you were doing the debris videos, what cleaning mode were you in? Were you running this in spot mode, or did the vacuum detect that there was debris and run the area multiple times?
I was using RC mode to make sure it went over the area. Once a map is generated you can you can draw a box for the area you want it to clean. It will not auto detect debri.
One more question Vinayak. When you are in the mop only mode, does the vacuum still suck in air. I don't want it to be spinning the brushes and try to suck wet stuff on the floor. Does it turn off or would it help to just pull out the side and main brush in the mopping mode. How about the other vacuums that you have reviewed? How do they perform in the mopping mode?
When you use the 550 ml tank it stops the vacuum as the dustbin is replaced by the mop. But if you use the 220 ml smart mop it can vacuum and mop at the same time.
The viomi's y-pattern mopping is good, but all seem to be similar. The 360's are good, the trifo ironpie is good, trifo max is bad as it looks like the mop was an afterthought.

It should work, as long as the vacuum has access to WiFi. If it's from a phone then there could be problems as it would switch between WiFi and 4g. If you're using the jiofi device it should work with no problems.

The best robot I have seen so far, has so many useful features, yes, its almost double the cost but still, its worth, does everything nicely. The only question left is the reliability of the product. But I think it should be fine. Let's see when it comes in India and at what price !

I don't switch the vacuum charger off at all. It would stop charging once it's battery is full, and it would be ready to use when required

No you should not add disinfectant to water tank rather you can spray on floor if you wish

It will work on natural stone floor, I have textured tiles at home too and it works fine.

Can Jio Hotspot be used to control robot from xiaomi app?
It should work, as long as the vacuum has access to WiFi. If it's from a phone then there could be problems as it would switch between WiFi and 4g. If you're using the jiofi device it should work with no problems.
