Hang on guys, I have a story to tell here from when I was just a small guy around the age of 14 (I'm 21 now). We have a relative lot of homeless people around the city here. One day I was on my way to my internship (but always had to wait around for half an hour until I could hop on the bus - bad connection between train and bus) and there was always this guy just sitting in a corner, bothering nobody. So I decided to just sit down next to him and have a chat with him, genuinely a pretty nice guy who lost pretty much everything after his camper burned down (the camper was his home). Offered him a smoke (I don't smoke myself but I used to carry an "emergency pack" with me in case one of my colleagues ran out) and after a bit of chatting, he told me he wanted to learn to more about computers. So, that's what I did, I taught him stuff about computers. This went on for a little while (probably a month or two) but after that, he was gone, just gone. I wondered what had happened but after a day or two of him not being around, he was back, though this time, fairly cleanly shaven, got a hair cut, wore as good as normal clothes and he told me that he now had a roof over his head and was starting a study into IT after the summer was over. Don't just write off a homeless person because he's homeless, go sit down with him, have a chat and maybe, you'll have enough of an impact for them to actually make their lifes get back on track :)
