Now I hear this song since I started my high school graduation. In the Next few months I will write my final exams and I can´t say how much this song carried me through all the shit of life. Normally I listen to deathcore and such things, but I promise someday I will travel to Ireland just to listen to this song.
@@Ambar42 Sie sind ja auch keine reine Irish Folk Band, zumindest seit ihren Anfängen nicht mehr. Eine Mischung aus Ska und Punk, immer begleitet mit einer irischen Note durch die Fidelklänge, prägen die Band primär seit 2013. Ich hätte, wie du, auch gerne mehe irischen Sound in den Songs, da der Name immer noch auf eine Folkband schließen lässt. Aber dazu sind sie mittlerweile zu vielfältig.
@@l.sch.8738 Ich sehe diese Vielfalt nicht. Mir ist klar, dass (früher) auch Ska-Elemente enthalten waren und die Band schon immer Folk-Rock bzw. Folk-Punk gemacht hat. Aber jetzt machen sie quasi nur noch Rock. Punk sehe ich da schon lange nicht mehr, Ska oder andere Stile sowieso nicht. Nu Folk war (von denen die ich kenne) sicherlich das abwechslungsreichste Album. Und das ist ewig her.

Bottom's Up hat beispielsweise Hip Hop Elemente, Johnny, Leaving of Liverpool und selbst Boat on the River haben Folkelemente. Zugegeben, we won't die tonight und here wo go again sind jetzt nicht sonderlich in den Rahmen zu packen, aber ansonsten okay.
@@l.sch.8738 Also ganz ehrlich als ich damals angefangen habe FG zu hören hab ich die Irische Hintergrund Melodien auch gefeiert aber nicht nur deswegen ist FG meine absolute Lieblingsband sonder weil ihre Musik allgemein Wahnsinns Rhythmen Texte, Gesang etc haben. Wenn man ein Fan von einer Band is sollte man alles lieben und nicht nur z.b. das irische 🤨

"Zwei Tragödien gibt es im Leben", so schreibt der irische Schriftsteller George Bernard Shaw, "Die eine, nicht zu bekommen, was das Herz wünscht, die andere, es zu bekommen." Dies gilt auch für den Erzähler von "One Fine Day": Von der Liebe seiner Frau überfordert, hat er permanent das Gefühl, dass seine Lebenszeit in Langeweile zerrinnt. My favourite song, I love it! I thought I really understood the narrative (someone is pushed away from home and vows to return when they're free) but after the video I am thinking it's more about love? What do we think, I would love to understand better!
Judging by the lyrics, the main character is the man. He's in a relationship with the woman but it's very one sided and he wants out. On the surface it looks like a happy couple but if you look deeper it's toxic and she's making his life hell. He is leaving her but there's only one place in the world where he can be happy, his little house by the sea. He only comes back after she's died or moved on from the place hence why she's bleeding from the mouth at the end. But that's just a theory
Nice song. But the story is full od questions. Maybe, in this video main hero is a woman, running towards her dream (house on the shore, etc) and in the end it kills her. Second option is, that i didn't get the plot, which is much more plausible
