Todays dressage is circus dressage not the real stuff we see in this video. I trained in Germany for three years and at my last place of work Reitverein Giebelwald e.V. (Auf der Hube) Klimke and his daughter showed up for the Westfalian Provincial Finals 1993 (dressage, jumping and driving) Klimke practiced what he preached. He came in the morning and his staff had the horse (Biotop, was an idiot) ready and Klimke went to all the riding rings we had and did a little of this and a little of that. Walking or Spazieren and a bit of work and then he took Biotop back to the stalls. He came again later to warm up for his test. Same with Ingrid. They won of course but he was a man of his word. His horse is chewing but not foaming. The horse is on the bit and up at the poll not with the broken neck or falscher knik of today. He had an extended trot, not a waving of the front legs (they call it strampeln in German). When I trained in Germany we were always checking ourselves by giving of the inside rein to see if the horse changed in the neck. We truly learned how to sit and then ride (yes there is a difference) starting on the longe. Klimke died on my 40th birthday. I am glad he has passed as he would not be happy with what is happening today.

Sooooo schön, so ein losgelassenes ,zufriedenes Pferd🥰 , so ein toll ruhiger Sitz,unsichtbare Hilfen, sieht man fast gar nicht mehr,so schade. 😢

So reell, so schön!! Und senkrechte Beine in der Piaffe. Kein unphysiologisches Gezappel. Wo sieht man das heute noch....
