Every time I watch this, I am thrilled. It reminds me that there really were good old days when the top placed competition riders and horses were classically trained and the audiences were proud to see that work in demonstrations like this. Which were common at the time. Sad that work like this would no longer earn the high places it deserves.
Amazing. Finally dressage on youtube, where the horse is actually in collection, the head and neck aren't overly bent, the strides are even, there's no crank and spank trapping the horse between seat and hand, no rider banging the horses back or flopping up and down, etc. Graceful, balanced, harmonious, and beautiful. Proper dressage builds a horses body while fake dressage maims and kills horses.
Charlotte Dujardin rides like this as well. I'm glad she won Olympics and surpassed Isabelle Werth who uses the "low and deep" method to train her horses. ❤️ Ingrid Klimke is a very good rider as well. She's Reiner's daughter. He also was very soft rider and trainer. He won Olympics I think 6 times. If you want to see another nice dressage then watch for example Charlotte and Valegro. There is also a video with their warming up and it's a really nice proof to see she is really nice to horses she trains. ❤️
Oh, you should have see this horse (Ahlerich) in 1984 at Los Angeles. Perfection. Next day he was clearly tired and not nearly as good as the previous day, but still superb. Perfection.
And Klimke was able to do all these Olympic level movements with only a simple snaffle bit and one rein, as he demonstrated at the '84 Olympics, I believe.
Ok, now I'm at the end! How they stand still with the crowd going wild. Show me one horse today being so chill within themselves. Today, it's just stressed out beings. Also the music was so fitting!
These horses were still in balance, both physically and mentally. Modern horse breeding and modern riding are going in the wrong direction. Horses are no longer trained to stay healthy with a rider on their backs, but to support the rider's egoism as spectacularly as possible.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 DIE DREI BESTEN DRESSURREITER IHRER ZEIT! DAS HIER IST GANZ GANZ GROẞES REITEN!!! SO LANGE HER UND TREIBT EINEM IMMER NOCH TRÄNEN IN DIE AUGEN!!!! DANKE DANKE!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😂😂😂😂😂😂
Amazing performance - I have had the privilege of seeing all three riders compete separately and in this performance. What a joy. It always brings tears to my eyes.
This comes across like classical music. The equestrian world has changed so much... For the worse unfortunately. What remains is that horses are still alive beings, that are dragged to do stuff for us. These horses back then came across so much more chill and highly trained & and not pushed to perform because they sold for millions. Oh man.
So muss Dressur wieder aussehen.
Thank you very much for this nice video ;-)
Loved this. Christina came to us at Goodwood, ( she still has my hot water bottle) and Madame Crepin sunbathed on the yard before her trip home. Herr Klimke took no prisoners and stood above us all with talent
I have been put off dressage completely after the abuse has come to light. Seeing this goes a long way to restoring the faith that there is true horsemanship and not just bullying tactics involved. This is a joy! Bring it back.
Lmao that don’t mean shit, good riding can still have the head behind the vertical, so much more other things count. Watch the Spanish Riding School and tell me they’re in front of the vertical.
@@dominicweber THIS. The point is whether or not the horse is pulled / forced into that position or whether he carries himself naturally without coercion.
Wow. Schöne Aufgabe eingeübt. Gut geritten.
Lovely video. Thanks for sharing. Always loved Corlandus. Years ago, I was asked to ride a Gaugin de Lully son who had hurt his owner. He was out of a TB mare and would go from quiet to explosive with no warning. On the 5th ride, he put me into a wall hip first. He then went to a round-pen trainer. Did great in the round pen, but ended up throwing his owner in the arena and kicking her in the head on her way down.Thankfully she had a helmet on and survived with no serious damage. She sold!
Beautiful. Poetry. Humane. Those three things I cant quite say about dressage today with all that coward tack put on them now like Rollkur and crap like that.
@@janiczkahell Charlotte is amazing, her riding is wonderfull. Ingrid Klimke has won pretty much all there is to win in Eventing. She's also around in Dressage, but generally more in Eventing I believe... she's currently riding the amazing stallion Franziskus in grand prix Dressage and got the two of them a place on the german Olympic Team. Honestly, she's one of my favorite professionell equestrians. As the daughter of the great Dr Rainer Klimke, she definately learned from the best - and it shows. We really need to go back to proper training and horsemanship and score accordingly. I can't believe someone like Isabell Werth gets the scores she does... her horses look horrible.
Locker usw.
The Germans were unbeatable in these times . What can be said that has not already been said. Just quite breath-taking. It does help that riders are so tall. Short, dumpy bodies can never aspire to this level and standard of GP. I know, I am short and could never be as good as these wonderful riders, even if I had the best horse in the world and hours of training. Lucky them!! What year was this?

Schönes Video, thanks for sharing!

Just up my street!! Ballet on horseback with great choreography and super choice of music - lovely to watch these great riders!!

When the round of honour is more impressive than many competitions today...
Dresssage presented in it's purest form! Marvelous!

2020 2nd APRIL STILL I AM AMAZED xo
THANKYOU .

I miss those days........

Corlandus, what a magnificient horse....who needs a dressage horse, when holsteiners can move like this...! Love him!
Christine was so tiny.
Corlandus has way too much fun at times. But notice how he doesn't panic when he is a bit naughty - absolute trust in the fairness of his rider. :)
Beautifully handled by the rider.
So very beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.
I love how, when the audience claps, the hoses enthusiastically join in with them. Such happy pictures.
Thank you for this. They are still the best.
Whoose 24 fools are disliking this wonderful kur???
Ignore them, they must be idiots🤷♀️
Oh the delight: The heads are in front of the vertical
Lmao that don’t mean shit, good riding can still have the head behind the vertical, so much more other things count. Watch the Spanish Riding School and tell me they’re in front of the vertical.
And extended trots overtrack the front foot placements
A rare sight in today’s dressage arenas.

Made me cry .....Every single time......Icons and Legends.........
Ein Gänsehautmoment nach dem anderen.
