    Glad your fruit trees are surviving the deer. We have to build an 8 foot high fence to defend our trees and garden from the critters. Once, I was chased out of my backyard by 17 deer. Can't wait to see the high tunnel full of green.

      Oh no! We have deer around, but the dogs keep them away from the house. Now at Mom and Dads it's a different story. We tried a sweet corn patch years ago when I still lived there and it was totally decimated by the deer hahaha

    Love your videos Devon and all the good knowledge and information you share.....You all work so very hard and your growing success shows it... I just put up my first polytunnel greenhouse 20 by 10 foot for this year and am going to try my hand at some small scale hydroponic growing this season for the first time 😀 Also going to seed start quite a few things for food production and make it a little more difficult for the deer to get at it first this year 😁 Wish me luck!!! ☺Thank you and God Bless you and yours....

    You have some great little helpers there. 💖
    I haven't had any luck germinating the spinach seeds. I've tried the paper towel method as well as in soil.
    I'm thinking this seed is bad, even though it was purchased this year.
    The plants have been in the NFT system for a week and even though there's no added heat during the night the plants are growing. It's gets up to 80 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night. I look forward to seeing the high tunnel when it's completed. Take care Devon! Happy first day of spring! 🌼💐☘🌸🏵🌷

      Thank you they make it more fun. Sorry to hear about the spinach, but that's great about your NFT system. That's about the temperature range in the main greenhouse this time of year. Happy first day of spring and hope you have a lovely week! 🌞

    Petunias were always picky about wet feet when I grew a hundred baskets a year in hanging baskets, I think the constant water is just too wet for them. Your cukes are sure loving the extra sunlight and heat.

    Enjoy the videos. If you could let all of us newbies know what variety of plants your growing and have been working for you and where you purchase them (I see some are Johnny’s) that would help for sure. There are so many varieties out there it is pretty daunting trying to figure out what varieties grow well and work with hydroponics. Thank you for sharing.

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  3 года назад

      We use a ton of different ones. Katy said it was all trial and error and said Johnny’s Seeds hydroponic section is a good bet. Things that work for us may be different for you depending on your climate.

    I always thought the holes in the 'Oasis' starter cubes were massively oversized and deep for some of the smaller seeds you germinate. The larger , open hole failing to provide adequate envelopment of the seed and therefor inadequate moisture saturation, darkness and support for the young seedling at the crown/substrate interface. Love the videos. Cheers.

    • @HomegrownPassion
      @HomegrownPassion  3 года назад

      Thank you! They work well for all of our hydroponic crops, just not the best for petunias. I'll be starting them differently from now on.
