Have it be like "Gift of the Night Fury". A "short" where it seems like it could be a movie in and of itself, but it only the length of an episode. Maybe even try the animation style from Spirit.
How crazy would it be if Toothless remembers Grimmel attacking Toothless's Family and it Toothlesses fault like it was Hiccups fault that Stoick was killed because he went to find Drago
It wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Even if Hiccup stayed on Berk and Stoick had the island on lockdown Drago’s bewilderbeast would’ve still defeated the sanctuary’s Alpha and have complete mind control over all of Berk’s dragons, Toothless included. I highly doubt even Stoick and the older Vikings on Berk ever dealt with bewilderbeasts before considering how rare those dragons actually are.
Mark Brackney True, Drago would have conquered them eventually, but their involvement moved up his time table. I do agree though it would’ve played out similarly to how it did anyway.
I think that a Toothless spin-off would be fantastic, whether it was a full-length movie or just a short film. I feel that it would be best to do it without any dialogue and have the dragons communicate purely with facial expressions and body language because if the dragons were shown speaking it would make them seem too human, and it would conflict the boy-and-his-pet chemistry that Hiccup and Toothless have in the HTTYD films.
i feel like a story like this would probably be told similarly to Spirit The Stallion From Cimarron, and i loved that movie to bits, so a movie told from the perspective of a dragon would be amazing.

I'm almost positive she *doesn't* teleport. That would be pure science fiction, and would _not_ suit the historical theme of the movies. My most logical guess would be that the Light Fury shoots the bright fire balls to create enough light pollution and temporarily blind the viewer long enough to fly through the fire ball and escape unseen.

It would be cool to see a toothless back story, or just even a story where the life of wild dragons would be exposed. Of course, toothless' back story would be the most interesting. I'm just questionning: how will they communicate, or how will we understand them, because they doesn't speak (fortunatly, because it would be really silly)? Are they going to express they're feelings like in the movies we already have or something like this? I mean, I would find this ok, and even very interesting but that's a question I am asking myself though. And also, it would be very cool, if they re gonna make a "toothless prequel", to see the whispering death that toothless hates so much and to see what they have lived that they've become ennemies.
Forever Angus Young I would like when they would do it like they did in Spirit Stallion of Cimarron. The Horses don't speak like Humans, but there is a story teller who tells it from spirits perspective. I think, this could work.

I wish that they make a really cool and evolved game about httyd. Like httyd 2 the game, but with more maps, better graphics, more dragons, more possibilities and a story, a real story. It would be awesome too if our avatar would be a dragon that we can choose and change colour and everything and fly around berk and the whole world of httyd.
He's a full night fury, with both parents night Furies cuz we all saw Toothless' kids, he would be black and white any of his parents were light Furies. And also light fury is not a night fury with white skin. It's just a night fury power to teleport by lightning, not any special power of Toothless, meanwhile light Furies just camouflage themselves with their fire. They are different but similar specie. Not same
Also a night fury can only be pitch black in colour. "an unholy offspring of lightning and death itself" it they are not black, they can never hide at night. They can hide perfectly at night, Which is why they are called NIGHT furies. Meanwhile a white light fury is easily spottable at night, so they camouflage themselves with their fire while night Furies use lightning to teleport
I want to see so much a spin-off prequel about Toothless' backstory, where he was born, his childhood, his parents, the other night furies and before toothless met Hiccup and became his best friend
Dreamwork should make a short movie about night fury and light fury. Edited: I just had a thought, in HTTYD 1, it said size unknown and all that about toothless, so that could mean, toothless didn't had siblings OR the new villain in HTTYD 3 might have hunted his siblings for his army because he said he had hunted every night fury expect Hiccup's and then at the end of HTTYD 3, toothless might be able to meet his siblings after all these years.
I know movies without any sort of dialog are not only possible but can also tell a story extremely well if the characters are expressive enough (which wouldn't be a problem here). The movie Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants is one of those movies and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes animation over actual environments.
I sort of hope we would get to know more from Toothlesses life before Hiccup in HTTYD 3, but an entire spinoff would be amazing! Plus I really hope Toothless is not the last of his kind.
I write books for fun. Not published yet. I could take your idea of Toothless backstory and write it with more detail. I could send it to you once it is done if you are interested.
I would like it to be on Netflix in the series when hicup trys to find out who toothless's parents are and then toothless remembers he keeps getting flashbacks from when he was little
i would love to see this (actually i was sorta hoping the third movie would make a flashback showing it since it seems to be focusing on toothless as a solo.) but only if dean and the movie writers work on it. rtte and the tv shows have shown me they can't make the characters justice. i don't trust the writers that made toothless a pet and hiccup a gary stu to write the spin off.
Toothless as a baby might of had a fight with a strange looking dragon that would dig underground which is the Whispering Death. After they had a bit of a fight, it soon turns out to be a full on rivalry between the two dragons. With the Dragon that invaded his homeland, it could be the Red Death as a teenager looking for it's own lace to assert it's dominance over the other dragons. So when the Red Death sees that the Furies were defending their homeland, the teen Red Death would burn those who opposed it and since Toothless was smart enough to hide in a place where the fire wouldn't kill him, he would survive. After the fight was over, he would emerge from his hiding spot and see his homeland burned to the ground and that is how Dragon Island came to be. Skip a couple years forward, Toothless is soaring though the skies above Berk and when he strikes the catapult, he is shot down by Hiccup
I would looove to see Toothless' backstory, because something I REALLY want covered is why Toothless has scars, possibly due to escaping from Grimmel so maybe it'll be addressed in the the third movie? But I'd definitely love to see his backstory, Toothless himself doesn't seem to know much of his species so he most likely got separated from his family fairly young if he even hatched with his species at all. Possibly wandered the world a lone wolf until he came near the Red Deaths nest and was forced under his will like the rest of the dragons, being the Red Death is a hostile tyrannic dragon.
That guy that says I have hunted down every single Night Fury except yours, Well my theory is he might have been caught but was the only one who got away later on at night because that would be the best time to escape because he would blend in with the night sky
I’d really like to see toothlesses background, and I would want it to be on a big screen and Netflix!!! I love the how to train your dragon series!!!!😍😍😍😍
Hmm... Interesting... I still don't like the theory that the Light Fury is normal, and Toothless is the abnormal one, but this other perspective would be interesting. My assumption, was that since Hiccup said that the Night Fury never shows himself, never steals food, and never misses, was that Toothless was there to provide cover fire while the rest stole food, Toothless being the toughest, most dangerous, most elite dragon.
Tbh.. I would actually love to see a full movie about toothless, his past life and how he came to be, hopefully one day it could happen even though it's been a few years already but still would be cool
I feel like it wouldn't be good as a Netflix original nut not long enough for a full length movie as what would be put in between all that was just explained? Toothless hatches, spends some years with his family, disaster strikes his home, he loses his family, and is stranded somewhere, and gets caught up with migrating dragons who get caught by the Red Death and so on and so froth into the first movie. So I believe it would be a 22-45 minute short. Like Legend of the Boneknapper or The Book Of Dragons
I have been going through a HTTYD & Dragons RTTE marathon and can’t wait until March 2019 ... I think anything else they can give us about Toothless and HicSrid would be wonderful. Netflix would be worth it but I don’t think they plan on expanding their stories ... it would definitely be cool to see one of HicSrid’s children and their bonding with a night/light Fury offspring. Oh the world of my heart 💜... lots and lots of Dragons
I would love this. I feel that it would be best on Netflix, but I suppose it depends on how they approach it. I would also like it if they discussed Toothless faced the whispering death from Defenders of Berk, seeing how they became enemies
I would say this should be a show on Netflix or HBO or something, but we already have too many of those. I personally think this should be one of those Short Story things that last 20-30 minutes.
Yes that would be perfect story but what would probably make it more perfect is that Toothless Narrats the story and the dragon can talk or at lest we can understand them.
It would’ve been cool if in random parts of the HTTYD The Hidden World had random moments where Toothless would close his eyes, and the movie would show a flash-back to his youth. Ex: When getting rejected the first time by the Lightfury, he closes his eyes and it shows him as a hatchling, watching adult Nightfuries courting each other. When he did the lightning thing, it was sorta random how he just learned to do that, so that would’ve been a nice moment, to show his father disappearing into the night sky as he watches from the nest. When he awakes and chases Grimmel, it would’ve been cool to have him close his eyes and show him hiding in a bush while Grimmel was standing by a dead Nightfury corpse(no blood, of course) and then he gets a little boost from vengeance-driven anger. Just thought that would add a little bit to the story, making it a little less random-like when he learned a lightning thing, or when the Lightfury accepted his drawing despite that probably being a foreign concept to her-while giving a sort of backstory to Toothless.
I think a titan-wing NightFury would look a dark blue almost black, with soft gradient patches of a slightly lighter blue speckled with little white scales, making it look like a shining night sky.
Alteori I have an idea for a video, idk if this has been mentioned before. The idea is how toothless lost part of his tail membrane, it is said in the first movie that the night fury never misses their target, and you can see just how fast, agile and accurate toothless' shots are. Later on when hiccup finds toothless we can see that toothless CANNOT fly out of the pit, so why can't he fly? Cause his tail membrane is missing. Why? Cause hiccups machine must have served it when it wrapped around him or it was ripped off during the fall. You can also see on the ropes what looks to be blood, if you pay close attention. This sort of is proven by the fact that once hiccup creates toothless' saddle and tail paddle, toothless can eventually fly perfectly again, albeit he needs hiccups help to do it. This would also prove that he's not always been like that, in terms of my earlier statement that toothless' flying/combat is flawless before he is shot down. And this is also a bit ironic as in one of your last videos, you went over the fact that toothless severed hiccups left foot to save him, toothless' severed tail membrane is on his left side also. you might have to re watch the first movie to try and pick all this up haha.
Alteori it was revealed in a book that all dragons have an "alpha mode", not just night furies, even though what it probably is, is just a powerful boost of adrenaline, and one way it could be triggered is when their maternal nature kicks in, like how mothers can have a burst of adrenaline when their child is in danger, so maybe that's what happened to Toothless, since he only went to "alpha mode" as a result of hiccup being in danger, and even though Hiccup isn't Toothless' child, Toothless is very protective of him like a child, all times we see Toothless go into alpha mode is when he is around Hiccup, in the movie and once in a httyd comic, and in the trailer for the hidden world when he us channeling the lightning, he is in his alpha mode, and he is probably either protecting hiccup, the Light Fury, the dragons that he leads, or all of them.
It’d be great as a Netflix original, cause then they’ll have more time to go in-depth with the story, and you’ll be able to rewatch it easier
Totally agreed since race is already on there.
Tommy Klein yes
It is :/
Tommy Klein dThere is one now

Oh my God, seeing a short film or spinoff series of how Toothless lived would be so so cool. Somebody hit up Dean over there

2:50 That role can possibly go to the Whispering Death, since it was established in the series that toothless has a vendetta against them
what about the skrill
Skriil is also one of the most powerful dragon too.
leong wai kit yeah but there's more material to go off of and a lot of loose ends that can be tied up if this story used a whispering death
It could be grimmul grimborn because he said he killed every night furry
Sean Dewar I agree

I would love to see a movie about Toothless thats like Spirt.

Fang yes. Spirit was one of my favorite Dreamworks movies as a child, and it still is as a 17 year old.
Thats exactly how i pictured it. Im 19 and Spirit is still one of my all time faves

Fang well since are both from DreamWorks, and Spirit is such a beautiful movie, I think it would be interesting to say the least

His story was made, just not mentioned in the movies. It even went w/ the tradition of the other movies, the source of conflict being understandable. But I guess b'coz of what happened previously, Grimmel's purpose in the story wasn't to hav us feel bad for him. Maybe none of his story was relevant, aside from the fact that during his study he happened to never see dragons' good side.🥺
In short, I read that Grimmel wanted to eliminate the threat, b'coz every1 he knew, & wat they endured solidified his beliefs of dragons being dangerous. He even had friends revealing the might & wonder in ppl that he wanted to survive.😥 He loved the ppl around him enough he just hated the thing that appeared to hurt them. It seems a bit pitiful, but really, his past was the usual lose, fear, & destruction. It wasn't all ego, & he just happened to never find a reason to care about dragons. He went from potentially good to determined, & unapologetic. He cared about ppl a lot mor than I imagined, just also being mean.😊
The truth is, he was doing wrong things 4 understandable reasons. Same way previous sources of conflict did.🤔 G had reason & knew why he was a hunter, & didn't need justification b'coz his truth has evidence, it just isn't perfect. Ppl don't usually believe somthing strongly to be stubborn/ hears their polar opposite belief & role w/ it, so I don't see G as stupid, just misguided, similarly to Stoick.
(Not that G is Stoick😋, but to say it's not bad to hav a different *opinion* ).
Also, he didn't just go around walking on/betraying ppl. He had som honor, he just doesn't care if #1) they betray/disrespect him first, & #2) if they were a treat to him trying to help ppl.
Details on his story could've helped. I think it could've added to his purpose, his view, & the decision that both mankind & dragons are better not harming each other.😊
(Sorry this was long...)😊
I'm not saying Grimmel's right, but that he's not dumb.
No matter. A villains a villain, & despite him wanting to make "a better world" it was still "misguided passion". Still tragic, tho.
Forever Angus Young if that becomes a real game hell yes I'm getting it!!!!!!! I've always wanted a game like that!!!!!
ever heard of school of dragons?
jaguarstar 90 yes, but I mean a game that's more like an open world with a story plot.
Unfortunately, that's too much to ask for. Ugh, like, ughhhhh I wanna start making this stuff instead cause no one else is gonna.
I really hope a movie or mini series would be made showing Toothless’ origin. If one isn’t made, I might start one up myself.
This is such a good idea! I personally have my own headcannons about Toothless' backstory but I'd love a cannon version!
It needs to be a full on movie! There’s so much fan art about this stuff!
Wonderful theory!! I love watching people come up with creative ideas and backstories for me!! 💙
if the father of toothless is a night fury and his mother is a light fury this explains the amazing power he has
He's a full night fury, with both parents night Furies cuz we all saw Toothless' kids, he would be black and white any of his parents were light Furies.
I always imagined a scene of a young Toothless with his family and Grimmel kills em all and Toothless is the only survivor
Yes I would love to see a movie like that the perspective of dragons and that's interesting.😀
I would love to see it as a Netflix original so I could watch it over and over again 💙💙🐲
I just realised that I have been on a HTTYD, GTTNF, ROB, DOB, RTTE and HTTD2 marathon
I want to see so much a spin-off prequel about Toothless' backstory, where he was born, his childhood, his parents, the other night furies and before toothless met Hiccup and became his best friend
Both! Big screen & netflix!
That sounds awesome! I like the inclusion of the Light Furies too, it was honestly a nice touch. I would absolutely watch it!
Night fury's are fireproof. So idk about his siblings dying in a fire
Dreamwork should make a short movie about night fury and light fury.
Edited: I just had a thought, in HTTYD 1, it said size unknown and all that about toothless, so that could mean, toothless didn't had siblings OR the new villain in HTTYD 3 might have hunted his siblings for his army because he said he had hunted every night fury expect Hiccup's and then at the end of HTTYD 3, toothless might be able to meet his siblings after all these years.
if Toothless had his own film, I WOULD DIE OF HAPPINESS!!!!!
It would be super cool if toothless comes to the Viking village and be like “grimmel must be here”
Night furies are the original species
I love this idea. I had never thought of this I wonder if Dreamworks has ever thought of doing this. Keep up the good work
YEESSS. I WANT TOOTHLESS' LIFE TO BE A MOVIE AND ON THE BIG SCREEN.
I would love to watch that for part 4 of the movie too bad the movie is gonna stop at part 3
Dramatic Experiment you never know
I have a feeling that the “attack” would be due to Grimmel
I know movies without any sort of dialog are not only possible but can also tell a story extremely well if the characters are expressive enough (which wouldn't be a problem here).
The movie Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants is one of those movies and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes animation over actual environments.
I have a theory that toothless is a hybrid of a light fury and a skrill
This is interesting. Can you elaborate please?
RegFromSpongebob77 Vlogs he can be because he shoots lightning so dose a Skrill so I think you are right
RegFromSpongebob77 Vlogs you could be right
I dont think we have much evidence for that until the 3rd movie where we find out wtf the lightning is all about
But i do beileve the Night fury is related to the skrill
This sounds just as awesome as Rexy's story. I'd love to see this.
I sort of hope we would get to know more from Toothlesses life before Hiccup in HTTYD 3, but an entire spinoff would be amazing! Plus I really hope Toothless is not the last of his kind.
Mabey Dreamworks one day would release a movie or at least an episode revealing toothless backstory
I would love to see a whole back story to toothless . And how being associated with the whispering death, grimmel
And the red death came to be
Whatever attacked Toothless and his family could’ve been a Cavern Crusher, since they love eggs and eating baby dragons.
I bet whispering deaths would of attacked toothless fam
And that’s my theory on what happens and why he hates whispering deaths
Maybe the Red Death 💀 is the dragon that killed Toothless’s parents and siblings
This is an amazing idea! You've got me inspired now! I'm going to try to make a story board now on how this could work!
Very close to 50k congrats
That back story must be on big screen
1:25 honestly. HEAVEN.
I think that fury is a class of dragon itself and that there are multiple night fury like dragons in existance
Maybe the enemy that destroyed toothless's home was grimmel....
This could be amazing, to actually have this sort of Spin-off. to learn more about toothless point of view!
I think that would be amazing!!! Big screen worthy!!!! 💖
I write books for fun. Not published yet. I could take your idea of Toothless backstory and write it with more detail. I could send it to you once it is done if you are interested.
Kayla Biever if none are published then you not very skilled are you?
Dont scam money of people
stick animator you know. . . People can be very skilled and detailed writers. . . But not publish anything. . .
stick animator dude. Shut up. I write on Wattpad. And getting published is hard. Even JK Rowling wasn’t published on her first try.
Yo kayla what i did was wrong im really sorry for what i did will you forgive me?
Please do I would read it
I want to see his backstory sooo bad and it would be so cool to know how toothless feels though out the movies
Would definitely watch, but who would Toothless sound like?
Sandhiren Pillay ryan renolds
Jordan Hicks That's actually a good choice
This has to be the next movie after httyd
Orion Pax Eeeeey Ethan! Lol
David Tennant! jK. Maybe Brad Pitt or Matt Damon (however Damon already voiced Spirit)
If it was a dragon enemy it would probably be a titanwing skrill or a screaming death
I would like it to be on Netflix in the series when hicup trys to find out who toothless's parents are and then toothless remembers he keeps getting flashbacks from when he was little
But Hiccup said "This thing never steals food"
I'm down for that. Tale of Toothless from hatchling until meeting hiccup
i would love to see this (actually i was sorta hoping the third movie would make a flashback showing it since it seems to be focusing on toothless as a solo.)
but only if dean and the movie writers work on it. rtte and the tv shows have shown me they can't make the characters justice. i don't trust the writers that made toothless a pet and hiccup a gary stu to write the spin off.
This is a brilliant Idea omg I would love to see this
OMA, I'd love this as a movie!!!
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY DAMN MONEY, I WANT A TICKET!!!!!!
This video is awesome and I think this should be canon on TV or something
I’d really like to see toothlesses background, and I would want it to be on a big screen and Netflix!!! I love the how to train your dragon series!!!!😍😍😍😍
Hmm... Interesting...
I still don't like the theory that the Light Fury is normal, and Toothless is the abnormal one, but this other perspective would be interesting.
My assumption, was that since Hiccup said that the Night Fury never shows himself, never steals food, and never misses, was that Toothless was there to provide cover fire while the rest stole food, Toothless being the toughest, most dangerous, most elite dragon.
Sometimes there actually are movies that start off in theaters and end up in netflix and I'm positive that will happen if toothless has his own movie
This definitely deserves a place in the big screen
I LOVE DRAGON AND TOOTHLESS THE DRAGON !!
Super cool and it should be any movies been off on its own
If his dad was a night fury and his mum was a light fury he would be a night light (half light fury and half night fury)
And so, the producers had to rewrite the entire story because Alteori made it to predictable. Poor producers.
I have a theory that the light fury in httyd 3 is toothless' old friend and they fall in love
I would love to see a toothless movie
I would love this. I feel that it would be best on Netflix, but I suppose it depends on how they approach it. I would also like it if they discussed Toothless faced the whispering death from Defenders of Berk, seeing how they became enemies
Big screen. That would be an awesome movie
I would say this should be a show on Netflix or HBO or something, but we already have too many of those. I personally think this should be one of those Short Story things that last 20-30 minutes.
You know what someone get a producer to see this. Idc if they have to buy the rights as long as this is possible
This would be worthy of both big and small screens!
More then likely the main threat of the night furies including Toothless's family would be the new villian, Grimmel the Grimley.
What if toothless ran away then when he came back there were no more night or light furys
Yes that would be perfect story but what would probably make it more perfect is that Toothless Narrats the story and the dragon can talk or at lest we can understand them.
I NEED THISS YESSSSS! THIS IS A GREAT IDEAAA!!!!!
It would’ve been cool if in random parts of the HTTYD The Hidden World had random moments where Toothless would close his eyes, and the movie would show a flash-back to his youth.
Ex:
When getting rejected the first time by the Lightfury, he closes his eyes and it shows him as a hatchling, watching adult Nightfuries courting each other.
5:32 OH YEAH!!! If they did it we can too!!!!
Edit: Oh and I believe all night furys are male and light furys are female. That's just what I think 👌
Toothless has a vendetta against them because they torched him when he was a little dragon
I think a titan-wing NightFury would look a dark blue almost black, with soft gradient patches of a slightly lighter blue speckled with little white scales, making it look like a shining night sky.
That voice in the back of all your heads that wishes they could be like hiccup and toothless....Yeah, it’s right in the front lines blaring in my head
Been here since 18k and its been fun to see you grow
OMG. I just realised! Everyone thinks this is the last movie or thing but a movie could come out about how toothless was before meeting hiccup!
Send this idea to dreamworks because I would love to see this
You forgot one thing: the vikings and dragons have been fighting a 300 year war
I have a question for you do all night furies have alpha mode?
Hmmm. That is interesting. We don't know and it seems to be an individual asset UNLESS Toothless is part "something else"
