I have the Shikoto T10 Katana and Wakazashi. Personally I find them attractive and tough. I’m very satisfied with them both especially at their price range.
Yeah they are definitely properly made, and the one sample they sent me is also quite nimble and maneuverable, with excellent edge geometry for light target cutting.
Always been curious about those ones. Good video dude. The fittings and samegawa look really good for a production katana. Was not expecting that. I may have to give them a shot after seeing this.
Yeah it's an interesting offering. When they informed me they were gonna send this model for me to review, I wasn't too sure about the sword, as there's little information about it and images they put out on their merchandise page is not flattering to say the least. Surprisingly it held up well and the aesthetics conform well with its central theme.
To be honest I ordered this and then checked out ur review while I’m waiting on it in the mail.... I should hav watched ur review first lol, but at least it looks like a good katana for the price
It obviously isn't the best deal ever for the price, but it has enough personality and rather good handling among swords at this price range. Pretty good cutter, too.
@@jeffhunter4395 instead I bought the Sokojikara demon warrior katana cuz it seemed a bit more durable and was a little more affordable. But just watch this video he gives a very extensive review and does his homework 👍
@@jeffhunter4395 I think he ended up ordering the Sokojikara katana (the other one I reviewed) instead. This Shikoto (at least the specimen I've got) is quite light and nimble. It features a thinner blade with greater degree of distal taper. It feels lighter than it actually weighs. Still, be a little bit cautious, it's not as durable as some of the other katanas out there. A bad cut on a hard and tough material may cause the spine to bend or warp a little bit (which is expected of these differentially hardened blades, with hard edge but soft spine). However, it's a joy to handle, and to cut with.
Are you comfortable identifying what company you bought the sword from? Iam thinking of buying it from "True Swords" but the packaging you show looks very fragile. Thank You.
Thanks for reaching out. I think True Swords is just another outlet of BudK. It even offers BudK membership. You can order from either one, but make sure to include a note to add padding to the packaging.
Haha, that's my wife. We thought it would be an idea for her to model in some shots to pose with the sword, but by the time we took the photos this time I was already done with editing and rendering the video. I'll include some footage with her in the videos from now on.
Madame has served you with with her athletic body with elegant form.
She's not even in the video...
Well done sir.
Thank you! I was inspired by your review style.
That was some very impressive cutting and good comparison among different samurai swords!
Glad you liked it!

I have the MASTER WASAKASI from them, I really like it.
Yeah it seems to be an active brand on the market for a few years. Some of their swords are better received than others.
Nice chopping! Solid information on the blade!
Thanks 👍. Glad you enjoy the video!
good video
Thanks bro!

Good stuff! Do you own any Cold Steel blades?
Yes, plenty. i have reviewed lots of their swords too. Check out my channel’s past videos.
Dude... Where is this house at... Like... What country.
Vancouver, British Columbia.
Curve swords cut well like Indian talwar swords!
Indeed they do. The curvature increases the slicing motion of a cut.

0.3 is a lot of tungsten. When it comes to alloying, throw our all your intuitions about composition. They won't make sense on mettallugry.
OK, what does the inclusion of 0.3% tungsten do to the alloy?
@@FortuneFavoursTheBold carbide formation largely. Its a sword, not a drill bit.
@@varun009 How does the tungsten influence the carbide formation exactly?

where the girl???????
At my home XD. Yeah my wife did some cutting in some of the other videos. For this one she just posed for the thumbnail, haha.
