    When you change material in twin motion make sure you apply it with “box uv“ on. Under your viewport hit the little cross next to the two circle - here you change the uv mapping mode. In box uv mapping mode it’s default is 1:1 with the material. It also is a great way to avoid repetitions on the texture

    Just as a tidbit of information. Twinmotion is realtime Ray tracing. Pathtracers are different method of rendering where it's reverse simulating actual photons shooting paths out of the camera and searching for a light source. And each bounce inherits the color and light quality of the last surface it bounced from. It's a pretty advanced simulation. Unreal engine also has the same distinction. By default it's realtime, but you can turn on the path tracer in the UE5 view options

    Do you see any issues about light orientation in twinmotion if you import light source from Revit? Someone said twinmotion changes the light source orientation…
    The lighting on the wall looks a bit odd in your sample model as well? The light source should be downward?

    The export to file thing is what gets me with Twinmotion. Enscape does this in a much better way for my workflow. The lack of "real time" updating is what kills Lumion and Twinmotion for me. Well that and price (Lumion). =) @jeff do you like the final quality best for Enscape or Twinmotion? Or Lumion? WHat order would you put them in?

    • @TheRevitKid
      @TheRevitKid  Год назад +1

      The new DirectLink with Twinmotion and Revit has come along way if that is your biggest hurdle. Quality is on par between all of them in my opinion.... once you know what you are doing ... they can all make awesome images and animations.

    • @jmqrsq
      @jmqrsq Год назад

      @@TheRevitKid thanks for your response. I will say I like Enscape in terms of use however I feel that I need to post process in photoshop with auto tone, auto color and auto contrast for the final images. Sometime brightness. I have been wondering if that is the same for Lumion or Twinmotion output typically or not. I am intrigued by Twinmotion since it comes with Revit now, but the learning curve kind of sucks tbh lol. Once I can get some time with it and find all the nuances of how to make things look the way I am trying it would get better. I hope. 😊

    I typicall take forever to properly place lights in twin motion. do you have a video made for best practices doing this.
    I remember you mentioned you can create objects and then replace in twinmotion, but not exactly clear, for example if I make a long circular bar in the cove lighting can i simply replace this geometry with a neon type light?

    So I work in Revit structures. When bringing a model into twinmotion, the elements are hollow when creating a section box and i'm trying to create an animation that shows the profiles of a complex slab in section. Unfortunately as structures, having a hollow slab (for example) isn't great visually. Is there anything I can do about this? I've tried multiple different workflows and version, different file types etc and am about to give up. I'm guessing its something to do with the way the software handles the elements... Any thoughts?

    • @TheRevitKid
