WELL ACTUALLY The blue Ness in Magicant might be Ness's Nightmare, the evil side of Ness, which he has to defeat to free himself from Giygas's evil influence. Also, 4:55 is the best thing ever.
Ness player here since Melee. I got into EarthBound due to his design and when I played it I loved it. Then I played EarthBound Zero and Mother 3 and became a big MOTHER fan.

I appreciated the quirks they brought and loved their music- but it wasn’t until I saw Giygas topping “horrifying Nintendo villains” lists that I decided to give EB a go ☺️ fell in love with it since. When I got through MOTHER 3, I actually went back and played Brawl as Lucas, and he’s been my main since Smash 4 DLC!
@@ThaneGaming Awesome, I hope Nintendo does a collection of all 3 games for the switch for the anniversary along with possibly making Pokey/Porky a DLC character in Smash since it's the year of the pig.
I couldn't be any happier than the release of a MOTHER trilogy collection on Switch. I'm huge on game preservation, and while it's great EB Beginnings was released on the Wii U eShop and EarthBound is available on quite a few platforms now, a bundle of every game and the unreleased MOTHER 3 would make the franchise so much more easily accessible. It'd draw in a great number of new fans :)

That's a really amazing idea. Huge fan of Pokemon Origins, it'd work so well with this series! I'd love to see aspects like Giegue's backstory animated from MOTHER 1- they could easily do four 20 minute episodes. Maybe splitting MOTHER 3 into two parts for the finale?
That's a cool interpretation! I'm just trying to make sense of the journey and its "back to Onett" theme. I suppose he could've use the Phase Distorter to battle Ninten too if that's how you want to look at it :D
I always thought that the first battle was supposed to represent Ninten, the first Earthbound protagonist. He wears more blue and he's in Magicant, you know, the Magicant from the first Mother game. It makes more sense considering you fight Lucas afterwards. It's pretty much representing all games, with first battle being Mother 1, the second because Mother 3 and you as the player representing Mother 2. It also makes sense if he's fighting the two other protagonist from the other Mother games before being able to return to his time.

I like to think that works for Lucas. And Mewtwo as the final standard opponent could be because he both resembles Gyigue, and because like the Masked Man, he’s built for combat with little to no emotion.

But, regardless of logic, it isn’t meant to be pronounced like the number “one”. The town number gag is present in Japanese too, and the nice thing about Japanese kana is that the intended pronunciation is absolutely clear. Itoi intended it to have an “oh” sound and not a “wun” sound. Because of how Japanese and English work (and how things work when going between the two), “on it” or “oh nit” or “ah nit” or anything similar to that is fine. For those who know basic Japanese, Onett is spelled オネット in the game." I've always said it closer to "Ah net", you can hear it in the video so I'll try to fix myself and remember that it's N-I-T lol.
