I've been trying to find a base preset for my Strats and either they're too muddy or they don't have enough definition and that's mostly because I have a '62 reissue with all singles and a Player series HSH. I think this one will work. Great sound!

I'm very curious to know how this would sound with a jazzmaster type guitar - to me, it seems to get that extra shimmer naturally from the pickups/jazzmaster bridge that the stratocaster lacks. Any opinions on the matter?

Clean your life is in the 3.1 folder, then the helix folder (not stomp). Need to upload the pod one still!
Excellent video! What's the best way to boost this clean preset so the volume is at unity with medium to heavy gain presets, without adding dirt or grit? Thanks!
I would adjust these things in this order:
1) Level on Cab/IR block (this will usually have enough volume on tap to do what you're describing)
2) Check the Channel volume (not master) on the amps block. Sometimes these don't have nearly enough volume but can help
3) a simple Gain block at the end of the chain

Do you have any lessons or videos on fretting finger independence? Your fretting hand fingers dont seem to move much when moving the ring or pinky finger and I still struggle with the whole fly away pinky when playing faster or leads/chord work like the video intro

Should work pretty well I think, if things are too gainy, take the gain back a smidge?
I've not tried this one out yet, but most of John's other clean tones transfer nicely to my humbucker guitars and sound amazing, without needing to do anything to them.
My pod go is not saving I save everything and when I switch it off it goes back to the way it was

So what does "Away in a Manger" mean? Until I looked up the meaning of away, I use to think that it meant that Jesus was far away in a manger somewhere. Do you know?
He was born in a manger due to the fact that there was no room in any of the inns in Bethlehem.
@@sboy1955 Agreed, but one of the definitions of the word "away" means "a safe place." For Jesus, the manger was a safe place for him. Interesting... I never thought about it like that before.

Very nice arrangement of "Away in a manger," John. Until about 10 years ago or so, whenever I heard "Away in a manger," it was a different version than this (see Doug Young's arrangement of the version I heard in the past: ruclips.net/video/7Kqiy15odjY/видео.html). Nowadays I mainly hear the version you've arranged here. I wonder what's behind this-maybe a US/UK split, with versions crossing the pond? Mindy Smith has a nice vocal version where she sings the version you're playing here, but in the middle there's an acoustic guitar solo with the *other* version: ruclips.net/video/gL9f3STNd0Q/видео.html. Okay, I did a bit of web searching to try to answer my own question. This carol has a slightly complicated history. Briefly: Though the lyrics were long attributed to Martin Luther, in fact they appear to originate in the US in the 1800s, though the author has not been identified. A church publication in 1884 recommends singing it to the melody of a folk tune, "Home sweet home," dating to the 1820s. The earliest written musical setting (in a church hymnal in 1885) uses the hymn tune ST. KILDA, but that setting never caught on. The next setting uses a melody subsequently named for its author, MUELLER; that's the version that was most familiar to me, and it's the most popular setting in the US. Somewhat later, another American composer, William Kirkpatrick, wrote a third melody, now known as the hymn tune CRADLE SONG, and that melody is most popular in the UK.
