I am 68, and starting my third year of living alone in Alaska, in a one room cabin on 6 wooded acres, 40 miles from the nearest town. I have learned so much about myself and what I am truly capable of doing on my own. I have no TV, but do have wifi. I thoroughly enjoy my own companionship and don't miss seeing others. When I find myself feeling too isolated, I reach out to my kids for a nice chat on the phone. The peace and quiet of living in isolation is so precious to me.

You are my hero, I've wondered about moving to Alaska in my 60s. Stay safe. Get a Garmin inreach explorer plus, keep it with you in case you get stranded. It's peace of mind. I'm in Utah

Nothing to do with depression.
I have anxiety, I've had depression. I think every people is different and it has nothing to do with the state of mind. For some, when they feel bad, they need someone and for others, they just want to be alone. I really don't think it's something you can learn. We are all different.
Just be who you are... I don't think I'm a super hero at all. ⭐
