I bought my first VCA piece, the 5 motifs bracelet in Mother of Pearl, and it was the first time I ever spent that much money on myself. I couldn't believe it. It was my dream bracelet, especially in mother of pearl, because it looked so flowery & delicate, shiny and pure white. Very romantic vibe. And I also liked the History (some of my favourite "celebrities" wore it, like Grace Kelly and Françoise Hardy. It's very Vintage looking). Later on, I bought the matching pendant. It's still amazing to me I could buy that. And I think the bracelet is especially popular because you can see it. By that I mean you yourself can enjoy it, whereas a necklace / earrings are for the others to enjoy in a way. I don't regret anything, though I do pay attention to it when I wash my hands and I wipe it clean with a soft cloth every night when I take it off. The pendant is less fragile I think, because it's less exposed to water & sweat. P.S: I also NEVER see it in my everyday life. I'm the only one with fine jewelry, these brands are only famous, or "everywhere" on social media, certainly not in my world. I'm a teacher and it took me 4 years to have the money to buy my bracelet.
I also think it’s a very pretty item. I have the same necklace and fully agree with what you say about the bracelet being jewellery that you can admire. I’d love the bracelet too for that reason. If I could have all the colours, I would!
So I don’t wear VCA, but I do buy it for my wife. My wife was introduced to VCA when we were planning our wedding and shopping for wedding bands in 2019; I was already familiar with the brand but tended to associate it with more mature women. What sold my wife on VCA was the customer service and how she was treated by the SA. For context my wife and I both grew up in and continue to reside in the USA, but our families of origin come from different class groups. While shopping for wedding bands my wife and I stopped by the usual suspects… Cartier, Tiffany, Bulgari, Graff, etc. but my wife was not treated very well by most of the boutiques, which I associate with classism but which might actually have been a sales technique. Things were different at VCA. My wife was treated as a valued potential customer and because of that my wife has been hooked. I have since bought her multiple pieces from VCA typically for special life milestones such as her birthday and our wedding anniversary.
Your right VCA sales associate are very friendly and treats all their clients very well. Same here in Australia, I went into Hermes to get one of their Oran sandals but the SA was so unfriendly. Never going into Hermes again
@@leahslux6726 where are you located in Australia? My wife and I were just in Sydney this past May. We had a wonderful experience at VCA even though they didn’t have the pieces we were looking for in stock.
Absolutely right. My hubby wanted to treat me to a piece of jewelry to mark my 50th birthday. I wanted a Love bracelet from Cartier but we were not treated very nicely. Instead he brought me Tiffany hardware bracelet, necklace and VCA mother of pearl pendant. I am such a girly girl who loves her fine jewelry pieces.
They're no doubt beautiful, but they are so overexposed on social media that it just doesn't feel special. I've never been a Van Cleef girl, but I don't want something so overdone.
I just don’t want something that so many people have. It’s not just true of this ubiquitous bracelet; pick any ‘trending’ item, and that makes it less attractive to me. Because I don’t want to replicate others’ style, and because what is in will inevitably be out. High quality materials and design are always worth seeking out, but I will always want things that feel unique or at least unusual and won’t wear out their welcome - not due to manufactured scarcity/luxury status, but perhaps due to its age/history (vintage > everything else), or it being a design that wouldn’t appeal to everyone, or coming from small designers rather than the ever-present heavy hitters.
Fine jewellery is everything in India, and I'm glad my mother has taught me that most of the Western houses have nothing on it (for a fraction of the cost!)
Yeah I had an Indian friend that introduced me to Indian gold and jewelry and I can't go back to anything else. The details and quality just blow everything in the west out of water plus I have pieces no one else has even if I went to an Indian wedding lol. I love it
yeah but it has an easily recognizable status symbol, customization with multiple stones and colours, and it is simple enough to go with anything. its made for mass appeal @@shamWOWexpert
I’ve been a jewelry girl since I was young girl. But most of my jewelry was personalized gold. Since the first time I saw a VCA piece I found it boring to look at. Even before I knew what it was or why everyone was wearing the same thing. So now that it’s being overdone, I think it looks boring to me and also cheap because every Susie and sally is wearing one. And nothing says “I don’t have personal style” like wearing what social media tells you to wear.
I’m a VCA lover since I was in my thirties I’m now 44 and I tell you I love all my pieces. I hate all the fakes around these days. Other than that I love it! No regrets!!! Love you 💚💚💚💚
Same! It’s probably the only pieces that I absolutely love for years and years. When you own the real ones, you spot the fakes very easily. I still wear my pieces at 50 and won’t stop.
I own 4 bracelets, 2 necklaces and one pair of earrings and I absolutely love them. I’m so happy that others are giving them the recognition they deserve.
I opted for their perlee signature bracelet and love it ! Is a great alternative to the love bracelet , low maintenance, minimum scratches and I can take it off whenever I want ❤
I love my VCA 5 motif onyx & diamond in yellow gold, I got as a gift 2 years ago! So then last year when I saw the uptick & for fear of a price increase, I purchased a matching one for my husband. Then my kid felt left out so I got a vintage onyx in white gold for my son. They both love them!!
I don't own any VCA but I think part of the appeal is that the Alhambra range is beautiful and the clover leaf shape symbolizes luck. That mixed with all the color and size variations makes its a fun, elegant and beautiful range. But if we're keeping it 100, ppl are buying it bc it's a flex.
I wasn’t into it until I saw the white gold guilloche bracelet. I have it and I have to say it is phenomenal in terms of design and quality. As far as how I got into it. I actually didn’t know about it until I was in Miami and a girl asked me to help clasp her bracelet on in the spa. I was like wow this is really nice and heavy and she told me it was VCA. After that I went and tried stuff on and chose the guilloche design because I needed a white gold bracelet and it’s stunning.
@@Summer_haikuthat and the white gold diamond butterfly between the finger ring are gorgeous. I would also do the white gold magic guilloche if they ever make it 😍
I just love the Alhambra line. I love it for as long I can remember, before social medias took over. I wear my pieces and I don’t think I will ever stop. I collected many so far and my favorites are the ones in solid gold. It’s perfect for every day wear, it’s feminine, goes with everything, it’s perfection to me. I love Cartier too actually. The downside is just it became popular and we have to wait to get what we want.
I have Alhambra bracelet and get so many compliments😆✨A lot of employees at random stores say it’s very rare to see authentic van cleef 😂it’s unbelievable beautiful in person!
I am a Van Cleef purchaser. I have 2 pieces and yes, I have the porous, scratch easy Malachite 5 motif bracelet. Why Van Cleef? Social media played a HUGE part regrettably, I didn't do enough research on the stone so wished I had gotten a hardier stone. But what keeps me going back? The beauty I guess, the way the gold catches the light. I have the lady bug bracelet too and i love it as it's different and as a plant enthusiast both bracelets represent me. Yes, I could have had gotten gorgeous pieces from Ole Lyngaard but it is what it is!
I love your content even though im not at the luxury buying part of my life but i am a crystal collecter. Generally, if the crystal ends with ite, its softer and more likely to cause issues. Like pryite, malachite etc. if your looking for hardwearing crystals/gemstones, you want to look for diamonds and things like quartz so your amethyst etc which is much more hardwearing x
My Dad's Grandmother was a Van Cleef and Arpels girlie ages ago, she liked her luxury stealth and lowkey. She wouldn't recognize them now! In her spirit I'd rock an alhambra lucky necklace in onyx or white gold with some very plain clothes so people think it's from TJ Maxx lol
Your research is amazing. How are you not a historian for some museum on their jewelry collections. Plus I loved the “what what what…” at the end. Had me rolling 😂
Uninspiring, boring & yearningly common (snobbish me) just as Ralph Lauren’s ‘polo player on horse’ logo has become in the 90s when every swim pool cleaner would wear one
I indirectly collect pajamas. Not designer - just Victoria’s Secret. I love a good pj set, so I definitely have double digits. Other than that, it’s shoes, jewelry, and bags for me. But, I know lots of people collect makeup and perfume.
VC welcome to the family of, Gucci marmont belt, louboutin peep toe platforms, balmain blazer, LV never full and the Cartier love bracelet. AKA basic bingo. I say this as someone who loves some of these pieces but they are over seen
They’re just gorgeous and feminine. My faves are the black onyx, the butterfly 🦋 and cute beetle. ❤ You just have to be extra careful since it’s delicate. Plus, who doesn’t love a solid gold into your collection. 🥰
I love Van Cleef. The details in the pieces are beautifully done. I prefer the solid gold styles in the Alhambra line over the stone pieces in terms of durability. I get compliments on my pieces even from people who don’t know care or know about luxury. They are classic and timeless in my view. They are very feminine so I know it is not everyone’s style but I am a fan of the pieces.
I bought an "inspired by" piece from Amazon. 🤭Just to test them out because they are so expensive. Discovered it's too much for my little hand. But I love how they look on other people.😍 So please keep buying them.
They are really nice in certain finishes, but I’m soooo glad I never pulled the plug… I find even the love bracelet hasn’t been as replicated as VC. Also, I prefer my jewellery to be bullet proof: shower, sea, perfume proof. Anything less, I can’t be bothered. I am sounding like a broken record (feel free to block me), but your videos are constantly getting better and better. Very few people who manage to do that, but I’m here rooting for you and waiting PATIENTLY for big names to take you on board as a consultant! 👏🏼👏🏼😘
@@lizcortez I’ve been rocking my Cartier clash bracelets for YEARS, they never come off and they can take everything. The hypocrite I am (“I don’t want something eeeeveryone has” 😂), I want to add a love bracelet to balance the spikiness I have going on with the two Clash bracelets and have a lovely trio stack 🤗 Other than that, I don’t have much experience with different brands. I knew solid gold wouldn’t budge so that’s what I went for.
@@CassieThorpe Forever here to root for you! Well as long as you don’t start random product pushing… “This is my favourite computer software, you MUST get it! “ 🤣🤣🤣
I never saw the appeal of VCA. But this video has educated me. And I can now say: “ I see the appeal; but still not on board. I love your content. You’re very knowledgeable. TFS
They are a very eye catching design especially in the green and gold....but the knock offs look IDENTICAL and they are all over jewelry kiosks, amazon and eBay. There are even versions in stainless steel and in a set of necklace, bracelet and earrings. I noticed a lot of them lately and for knockoffs they were shockingly well made
@@user-ft9tf5tw6l exactly and the fake malachite ones (I got those) aren't going to have the issue with getting white marks on the stones if they get wet like the genuine ones either.
I wish I could look at this type of jewelry as nice and classy and something of luxury. Unfortunately, I keep seeing them as adolescent and just another very out of pocket expensive jewelry that teen and preteen girls were asking to have for Christmas or for their birthday. One of those teens was my younger cousin. And countless more younger teen girls at my high school. It gives me the same feeling of seeing an older woman wearing a crop top. There is nothing wrong with a crop top, but usually, you're going to see young 20s and teenagers wearing those crop tops. I love that I get to understand the origins of this brand though!
Did you go to a private jeweler? Can you describe what you made in more detail? What color gold, what stones, what shapes? I really wanted one also but I don't like that it's 18k gold, I prefer 14kt gold.
@@ngo7156I went to my local jeweler who I designed my engagement ring with. I chose a 5 motif guilloché rhodium plated 18K white gold. The motif is 4 hearts with a diamond in the middle.
Your amazing Cassie your always making me smile and always making my day love your channel lots you will always be my favourite RUclipsr ever and my inspiration hope you have a really beautiful week ❤❤❤
It’s not supposed to be an everyday jewel, though? Many clothes, bags and shoes are also made of delicate materials you can’t wear in every situation. For something more sturdy and durable there are many more materials available…
@@MissJIF It just isn’t designed for that and they tell you that when you’re purchasing. Unless you don’t mind wear and tear and/or can afford to replace it if the stone is damaged, you could probably look for another kind of jewel.
Loved this video ❤ I got the sweetie version in MOP in 2020 for my 30th. Being French my parents wanted to gift me a piece I would keep for a long time. I love it so much but am considering buying the bigger version in black onyx for everyday wear.
My reference point for Van Cleef and Arpels is Bob Barker on the Price Is Right as a Showcase Showdown item. It was there with Broyhill furniture and Bahama cruises.
I recently noticed lots of VCA when watching old seasons of Real Housewives. At the time the shows aired I wouldn't have had a clue what it was and would just have seen it as a nice necklace/bracelet. Funny how social media has turned rich people staples into trends, I guess. Crazy that I am totally over VCA as it's everywhere and almost seems tacky yet I can't actually afford it lol 😂
I guess i am old- back in the day when wheel of fortune gave prizes instead of money- you had to spend your money on the items in the gallery- I remember there was always a VCA piece to choose from😂😂
As you noted, a piece’s durability depends on the materials and stones used. I prefer selecting durable stones (diamonds) or no stones for everyday wear. I wear my Sweet Alhambra rose gold pendant (no stones) everyday and rarely take it off. I’ve worn it for years and it still looks beautiful and classic! 💕
I don’t care for the multiple motif bracelets/necklaces. I like the single motif or sweet Alhambra. I do have the vintage Alhambra single necklace and love it! I personally have stopped buying bags and have started focusing more on jewelry. Cartier will always be “in”
Same. I have the single motif in rose gold. I got it to layer with my other rose gold pieces. The mult motif pieces are a too feminine for me. I’m more of a Bulgari girl, but I wouldn’t say no to a single motif necklace in malachite. The green is gorgeous.
I admit that I’ve been a sucker for those clovers in mother of pearl 🙈 I have the vintage Alhambra necklace and sweet Alhambra bracelet- I’ve always been tempted to get the 5 motif bracelet in malachite, but the price tag is deterring!
Great video as always Cassie. I’m a long-time collector of both Cartier and VCA Alhambra. I stopped wearing my love bracelet a few years ago, not because i loved it any less but because it’s become too unsafe to wear it as it doesn’t come off! Haha I still wear my Alhambra collection pieces often, and I agree with you, part of their charm is the collectibility factor - being able to collect different styles and colors. There are TONS of fakes of them here in the GCC where I live now. Every jewelry shop in the mall has fakes of them. I, like many long time collectors of VCA, have moved on to collecting pieces from the VCA frivole collection now. I imagine that will soon become very social media trendy as well. Also, I never knew about all of this baby-ing that people talk about and I wore (and still wear) my mother of pearl van Cleef set pieces all the time without any worry. I also wanted to point out that VCA is a bit like Hermes in that they also offer special orders to their VIP clients.
Luxury or non Luxury items are picked based upon my personal style, so my likes, looks, themes, mood oh, and what I know pops on me, not what is popular or trending. I do pickup pieces if they fit my personal style and aesthetic. My main personal "aesthetic" even as a teenager was something that is best described as timeless elegance, simplicity, and classic. I incorporate what I love, whether it was Edwardian or Victorian style, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and the earlier to mid-60s. I have lots of neutrals, black, jewel tones, white slacks, capris, skirts, dresses, sweater sets linen, silk, cashmere, cotton knitwear, and fabrics all of which I have tailored even my cheap pieces. Fashion, makeup, hair, nails, shoes, accessories, and even jewelry are tools to create an illusion of the you you want the world to see whether you are highlighting or detracting features. Speaking of detracting, do viral luxury items diminish and detract from the status quo, monetary value, and overall worth of said item is every just has to to have and does have one? If it does, then what is the point of owning anything from the woe begone days of yore, such as the need of the little blue boxes housing Tiffany bracelets, rich fur coats, or Hermes for example...
The Alhambra has been a royal favourite since its creation. Grace, Princess of Monaco was obsessed with it, some of her pieces are now with her descendants and daughter-in-law. Our current Queen has been wearing it since the 90s as casual jewellery. The Princess of Wales wore to the Baftas in 2020 and everyone was obsessed. Middle Eastern royalty loves it, Queen Rania and her daughters, the Sheika of Qatar, Queen Noor, they all have it. But it was never a marketing sell, it was exclusivity. When you see in people more “approachable” situations, like celebrities and fashion bloggers, I think it sparks interest and the thought that “I too can have it”. Fine jewellery takes a lot more persuasion to buy than a bag and I think VAC benefited a lot in their red carpet exposition, and there aren't any brands doing the same within the same price bracket.
I have a few pieces because the clovers represent good luck. My late Mum got them for me for my wedding - bracelet, earrings and ring, as a wedding gift. And since her passing, I go back to the same store she bought these pieces from and it reminds me of her and I still tear up. I know many people love the trend but I think for me, it reminds me of my Mum.
I’ve got the MOP sweet Alhambra pendant and I’ve worn it for 2 years straight. I like it because it goes with literally everything. I get compliments all the time. It’s finicky in that I have to take it off to shower or go swimming, but I usually take off most of my jewellery to do that anyway.
I have been collecting VCA for a long time and currently have 32 pieces. Time is repeating itself but on a larger scale bc of media. Back in 2009-2010 (in CT) VCA went through a popular phase there were a ton of fake clovers and a 20 motif necklace used to be 7k. Then VCA went back into hibernation or remained quite luxury until covid. I love their timeless designs and quality. I have the best luxury experience with my SA and the brand compared to other high brands. I wish VCA wasn’t currently an overdone trend but I’m also happy for the people that get to experience it. Like with any investment it should be well thought through and not based on what you think you need. Cassie you are naturally beautiful everything about you is on point today!
I remember the Cartier gold hoop earrings, with the multiple nail heads, were popular with teens and women in the late 90s. When influencing skyrocketed, that's when I was introduced to the love bracelet and then reminded of the earrings worn in the 90s.
Wow Cassie great video. I do watch Olympic but now that you mentioned that they wear those during their matches...i am interested to see more. I had my first Vintage Alhambra 1 motif necklace in gold because i am also influenced by RUclipsrs, LVLovercc and it is also a statement piece for me thus i got mine now about 3 years ago during my B'day. I do wear it on and off when i want a statement piece of necklace. I am still interested in some of their pieces but am selecting carefully as you mentioned some stones are so fragile. I want to get a lot of wear out of it thus will not get those sensitive stones for sure and yes the limited holiday ones does tempt me too. Thanks for sharing 🤗😍
I remember Serena's mom wearing it on Gossip Girl and I now can't unsee it as older rich lady jewelry. The guys definitely put a little spin to it but these generation of guys are deep in their feminine bag so to each their own 😂
Thank you for providing information that I was not aware of. I have the. Onyx bracelet and I love it. Don't ware it often because I am scared of damaging it. 😂
I think was the whole trend thing you gotta ask yourself did I want this piece or was I interested in this piece before it was popular and want to get it now or have the means to get it now? Or are you getting it because It’s the thing to do and you could live without it. Just like the love bracelet I think that some people are going to like and keep these new trendy bracelets for a while, but unfortunately, I think that’s a very small percentage until the next big thing or accessory is announced. Then these bracelets will lose all value of the branding and be worth simply the materials at cost even the van Cleaf is a luxury house. It still has this feeling of entry-level luxury and it’s not the same experience as buying other luxury jewelry. This is more like a Pokémon, collect the all type of situation and I have a feeling in the next year to these people who are buying them will either regret it or won’t wear them. Basically I don’t see them as a classic even though they’re pretty bland and I also am not a van Cleef girl nothing against anything to do with the brand I just like more unique pieces for the price.
I have loved them and started collecting years ago, remember I'm old lol,I was turned off when 😢I seen how popular they were because I was one of few in my area that wore them, but glad for the brands popularity, I still don't see them here. Great video.❤
Honestly, I used to love the Love bracelet. The Alhambra line as well. BUT I can’t stand it when something gets hyped up to the moon. I start hating it😅 plus, the whole bracelet stack is such a basic rich bish look now. Extremely boring
Great video!! Always enjoy watching your videos. You’re the best!! I wonder how thick the stone (pearl, onyx, malachite etc) in the four leaf clover design setting is. I’d be interested in knowing that. I’ve had pearls from my great grand mother and they sure stand the test of time and I imagine it’s because the pearls are spherical. Wonder how thick the VCA stones are within the Alhambra style.
Like many, I started off our collection with multiple Alhambra pieces. VCA has a ton of different collections that are just as beautiful as Alhambra. My favorites are Perlee, Frivole, Butterfly and Alhambra (of course). VCA is a slippery slope because you’re first allured by the Alhambra but there are many collections that are just as, if not more, beautiful!
Hi Cassie I Love all your content!! I’m about to purchase my first Idyl pieces for every day use. May I ask in what size in the studs you’re wearing with your Leah add on? It looks so good ❤
I like the Alhambra MOP motif. It is lovely & timeless. I actually first fell in love with a fake one at a jewelry store years ago before I knew it was a VCA replica. Two years later I realized it was VCA so I called the jewelry store to see if they sold preloved VCA & explained that I’d seen one in their store a few years back. They explained that they make dupes/replicas of some designs for ppl who want real gold but do not want to pay the luxury brand markup. But they do not put fake logos or names on it so it would not say VCA for example if I bought one. This year for my bday I bought the real thing. I do not know anyone in my day to day life with VCA & I have never seen anyone with one. Social media does not reflect most ppl’s day to day life. VCA is popular for a reason & the popularity is well earned - if you actually like it. I would not be spending those prices just to keep up with trends or for clout which is what some ppl do. But to each his/her own. I am going to wear & enjoy my bracelet (but I will stick to the one).
I have a few VCA pieces starting from 10 years ago. I have always admired the delicate-ness and craftmanship of them. I love the concept of the holiday pendant (only have 2018). I actually got annoyed when it blew up on social. But I'll admit I love a good alhambra pop of color on the right outfit. My favorite is actually the perlee collection which I think is the most wearable and my lotus earrings which are both a little more "under the radar". My Cartier pieces are Clash because theyre the most unique to me (again you can see the craftmanship).
I have purchased the all gold necklace, bracelet, ring & I am on the waiting list for the earrings which might be a year or more😢but I love how it reminds me of a flower & the lines engraved on ii makes it stands out loudly but still looks do sophisticated at the same time. I’m in love
I don't have a bracelet, but I do have my mom's one motif vintage VCA Alhambra necklace from 1968. Dad got it for her for Christmas that year. I was just a kid then, and thought it was very pretty. It's yellow gold with lapis stone. I just had it tightened. I wear it only once in a while because I don't want anything to happen to it. Currently it hangs off of the rear view mirror in my car. I do keep it for the sentimental value. (Jan Griffiths).
I am from Mozambique and we had no idea these pieces were dupes to a luxury version. They are so popular now and no one speaks of the original. They're just being sold left and right straight up from Chinese marketplaces. Wow...
So that's the brands' name! A colleague of mine's go to necklace is the clover pendant and it looks stunning and stunning on her! I complimented her a lot on this, but we never talked about where it's from. Then I saw my doctor's wife super casually wearing the earrings and soon after the picture of the Princess of Wales wearing hers and every time I thought: stunning. I think it's a kind of motif that suits everyone and can easily be dressed up or down. It doesn't wear you, it's not over powering. That said, as much as I like it, for myself I would prefer no-name fine jewellery. I would feel uncomfortable wearing something so recognizable.
Very thoughtful content. For me, I find the style of the Alhambra clover sings to me. The style is very pretty and feminine. The Love bracelet is no doubt beautiful but does not call to me in the same way. I was considering both, but am leaning towards the Alhambra. Thank you for your insight.
"I can actually feel it on my wrist because I've seen so many" 😂😂😂

Anyone who talks about jewelry should be familiar with it.
That’s true you never just see it on everybody, only on IG
Love that. hope you continue to enjoy it daily.
What a lovely story! I think also we see it on social media because the algorithm picks up on what we look at. I too barely see any luxury around me.
I also think it’s a very pretty item. I have the same necklace and fully agree with what you say about the bracelet being jewellery that you can admire. I’d love the bracelet too for that reason. If I could have all the colours, I would!
Congratulations!! I just bought my first necklace ❤ I'm so excited as well...and like you,I haven't seen anyone in real life wear it either😂

They're no doubt beautiful, but they are so overexposed on social media that it just doesn't feel special. I've never been a Van Cleef girl, but I don't want something so overdone.
I get that!
I totally agree. Way overdone.
I need to go! I’ve heard the jewelry in India is phenomenal 🤩
So true !!!! Do you have any recommendations for online purchases from India ?
Agree!! All mine is from India
Yeah I had an Indian friend that introduced me to Indian gold and jewelry and I can't go back to anything else. The details and quality just blow everything in the west out of water plus I have pieces no one else has even if I went to an Indian wedding lol. I love it
@@neffyg35 any chance to buy online ?
I think it’s so popular because it’s just gorgeous!
Everyone’s sense of style is so subjective though 🤷
yeah but it has an easily recognizable status symbol, customization with multiple stones and colours, and it is simple enough to go with anything. its made for mass appeal @@shamWOWexpert
@@zullycelissuazo7439 I agree, it looks like department store jewelry to me
I’m a VCA lover since I was in my thirties I’m now 44 and I tell you I love all my pieces. I hate all the fakes around these days. Other than that I love it! No regrets!!! Love you 💚💚💚💚
Great to hear!! Love you! 💖
I love them too. The real one are very thin and the fake one are so huge and chunky 😂🤣😂🤣
Same! It’s probably the only pieces that I absolutely love for years and years. When you own the real ones, you spot the fakes very easily. I still wear my pieces at 50 and won’t stop.
I’m glad I’m not alone 🥰😘😘😘
fakes? they didn't invent the 4 leaf clover, the shape predates them by centuries!
“Everybody but me” too ✋
I own 4 bracelets, 2 necklaces and one pair of earrings and I absolutely love them. I’m so happy that others are giving them the recognition they deserve.
I opted for their perlee signature bracelet and love it ! Is a great alternative to the love bracelet , low maintenance, minimum scratches and I can take it off whenever I want ❤
Fabulous 😍
Because it’s beautiful! The coloured stones against gold look amazing , so eye catching
Van cleef overtook Cartier because Cartier got very expensive. A love bracelet is 7350 plus tax while the 5 motif alhambra bracelet is 4600 and over.
Yessss the white gold guilloche is the one and only VCA ❤
Can’t wait to see you try the Alaïa Decolette pumps and the Gucci platformed slingbacks!
Honestly me too 😂💖
I am a Van Cleef purchaser.
So happy you shared your experiences here! Thank you 💖💖
Cassie PLEASE do an Olympics luxury spotting video!!!! My mouth was watering at your commentary here heeheehee
I’m a sucker for black and gold pieces. All my bags are black with gold hardware so the Onyx was a no brainer for me! I just had to purchase it ❤😊
🫶🫶
My Dad's Grandmother was a Van Cleef and Arpels girlie ages ago, she liked her luxury stealth and lowkey. She wouldn't recognize them now! In her spirit I'd rock an alhambra lucky necklace in onyx or white gold with some very plain clothes so people think it's from TJ Maxx lol
She was the it girl it seems!!!😍
@@CassieThorpe she had a dedicated collectors heart, much like you!
Your research is amazing. How are you not a historian for some museum on their jewelry collections. Plus I loved the “what what what…” at the end. Had me rolling 😂
I’ll be honest VCA has some gorgeous pieces…but the Alhambra isn’t one of them. It just feels sort of lazy and boring - where’s the personality?
Uninspiring, boring & yearningly common (snobbish me) just as Ralph Lauren’s ‘polo player on horse’ logo has become in the 90s when every swim pool cleaner would wear one
@@DCwonk
I love how collectibility is a factor for designer brands!
I wonder how many of us collect outside of luxury
It plays a huge part!!
I indirectly collect pajamas. Not designer - just Victoria’s Secret. I love a good pj set, so I definitely have double digits. Other than that, it’s shoes, jewelry, and bags for me. But, I know lots of people collect makeup and perfume.
In the last decade purchasing vintage jewelry has been a fave. A collection of Jewelry from around the world, brands not common to many.
@@emajjabowen6748I adore collecting Chinaware too! English, Chinese & middle eastern 😅
VC welcome to the family of, Gucci marmont belt, louboutin peep toe platforms, balmain blazer, LV never full and the Cartier love bracelet. AKA basic bingo.
I say this as someone who loves some of these pieces but they are over seen
Not the basic bingo 😭😭😭
You did an exceptional job with this! Absolutely correct on so many points.
I have been wearing Van Cleef First perfume for around 30 years. Nobody had heard of them at that time. Now they are everywhere.
They’re just gorgeous and feminine.
My faves are the black onyx, the butterfly 🦋 and cute beetle. ❤
You just have to be extra careful since it’s delicate.
Plus, who doesn’t love a solid gold into your collection. 🥰
It’s giving Charming Charlie
NOOOO 😂😭💀
You’re truly so wonderful to me!! Thank you for your kind support all this time 😭💖 And I’m with you, my jewelry needs to be hard-wearing!!
Any jewelry recommendations you can give me that you love that fits all those categories 😉✨️?? Would love to hop on that band wagon.
I agree!! Must be bulletproof!! 😂🎉
I noticed a lot of them lately and for knockoffs they were shockingly well made
You said it honey! I bought my niece mother of pearl earrings in this design for $15.00, who's gonna know!?!😂
@@user-ft9tf5tw6l exactly and the fake malachite ones (I got those) aren't going to have the issue with getting white marks on the stones if they get wet like the genuine ones either.
That's such a great way to describe it, which is probably why it's so popular. If you have a young women - teen girl audience, you're set for life.
I wanted one like 10 years ago and decided to custom make a motif one. So much happier. I don’t want what everyone else has
Did you go to a private jeweler? Can you describe what you made in more detail? What color gold, what stones, what shapes? I really wanted one also but I don't like that it's 18k gold, I prefer 14kt gold.
@@ngo7156I went to my local jeweler who I designed my engagement ring with. I chose a 5 motif guilloché rhodium plated 18K white gold. The motif is 4 hearts with a diamond in the middle.
But IF your stone cracks, you can replace it for only $200.. only a fraction of the total cost and glad VCA offers that nonetheless
Honestly, I love them. They are so cute and I hope they don’t get played out. Even if they do, I’m still gonna wear them.
Your amazing Cassie your always making me smile and always making my day love your channel lots you will always be my favourite RUclipsr ever and my inspiration hope you have a really beautiful week ❤❤❤
Preach! Most of the stones are porous, they discolor if they touch any colored liquid! Why have that as a bracelet?
🫡
It’s not supposed to be an everyday jewel, though? Many clothes, bags and shoes are also made of delicate materials you can’t wear in every situation. For something more sturdy and durable there are many more materials available…
@@AkiUtadaso I would definitely want that to be an everyday piece
@@MissJIF It just isn’t designed for that and they tell you that when you’re purchasing. Unless you don’t mind wear and tear and/or can afford to replace it if the stone is damaged, you could probably look for another kind of jewel.
Can we just take a moment for how well researched this was? All the applause Cassie, loved watching this
I have ,y eyes on the nature setting but now because of this knowledge you’ve given I may rethink it. 🙏
Thank you Cassie for addressing this topic! I personally prefer your far more unique and interesting jewellery pieces ❤
Loved this video ❤ I got the sweetie version in MOP in 2020 for my 30th. Being French my parents wanted to gift me a piece I would keep for a long time. I love it so much but am considering buying the bigger version in black onyx for everyday wear.
I've never been a van cleef gal either...can admire it but not purchasing anytime soon.
Great vid Cassie 🎉🎉🎉
My reference point for Van Cleef and Arpels is Bob Barker on the Price Is Right as a Showcase Showdown item. It was there with Broyhill furniture and Bahama cruises.
The only reason I look forward to sundays is for a Cassie upload
😭💖
Love your father’s final stamp on your videos! I’m here for it ❤😂😂
The variety of textures in the *yutulu*t pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
My hubby and I have 4 bracelets each -we love them! Color and quality 🙌🏾
I guess i am old- back in the day when wheel of fortune gave prizes instead of money- you had to spend your money on the items in the gallery- I remember there was always a VCA piece to choose from😂😂
Omg!
I want the turquoise and the malachite sooo bad. I love that the look like delicate flowers…
Good morning queen Cassie, i knew you were eventually going to talk about van cleef❤😊
Hehehe 🙈
@@CassieThorpe I was expecting it

Great deep dive! Was recently on holiday and saw these pieces often.
“Now I’m thinking of fingernails around my neck” 🤣🤣🤣
Fab research, thank you very much Madame 😊😊
I don’t care for the multiple motif bracelets/necklaces. I like the single motif or sweet Alhambra. I do have the vintage Alhambra single necklace and love it!
I personally have stopped buying bags and have started focusing more on jewelry.
Cartier will always be “in”
I hear you 🙌🏽💖
Same. I have the single motif in rose gold. I got it to layer with my other rose gold pieces. The mult motif pieces are a too feminine for me. I’m more of a Bulgari girl, but I wouldn’t say no to a single motif necklace in malachite. The green is gorgeous.
I’m considering a single motif bracelet as well. The multiple motifs remind me of old school charm bracelets, which I’m not interested in.
Omg I thought I was the only one who wasn’t crazy for it! This is nice to hear lol
I admit that I’ve been a sucker for those clovers in mother of pearl 🙈 I have the vintage Alhambra necklace and sweet Alhambra bracelet- I’ve always been tempted to get the 5 motif bracelet in malachite, but the price tag is deterring!
MOP is so pretty so I don’t blame you!!
The variety of textures in the *yutulu* pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
So, so overdone and completely agree! Would love a video of great alternative for the 5 motif bracelet ❤️
Van cleef is gorgeous! 😍 I have all of the unique pieces like the diamond/pave Alhambra and the mini frivole in emerald diamonds.
Glad you enjoyed it! I’m happy that you’re happy with your necklace and that you’re looking after it 😍
I remember Serena's mom wearing it on Gossip Girl and I now can't unsee it as older rich lady jewelry.
Lee Van Cleef greatest actor in a western that was ever made 🔥
Honestly, I used to love the Love bracelet. The Alhambra line as well. BUT I can’t stand it when something gets hyped up to the moon. I start hating it😅 plus, the whole bracelet stack is such a basic rich bish look now. Extremely boring
Agreed! And starting to look tacky! 😒😒
Truly wealthy people don't stack this overpriced crap, anyway. True rich bish are SILENT with their luxuries.
I am so glad that I have never gotten a VC piece. I live in the Deep South and we sweat down here on the Mobile Bay! They are pretty but no thank you!
You may want to consider a solid gold one though!
Such a great video! Totally agree with you. I have several vca pieces but don’t use as much because they are also fragile.
It looks so good ❤
qvc have a replica of this and i have ordered one for my daughters 18th birthday. the green one is stunning.
I do love the VCA smaller earrings but only in the black onyx.
I’m in love
Omg, now that you've talked about it. I'd love if you did a video on the jewerly athletes were wearing at the olympics.
