So many Parishes were started by a group of Faithful and Catechumens just assembling together, reading the Reader's Services, then when the group got big enough they appeal to the Bishop of their jurisdiction and go from there. For now you can contact the closest Parish and correspond with the Priest and see how to begin the Catechumenate. You'll be assigned reading and all. May God bless you! ☦ 🌹 💗
It is very good that you are crying. As a recent convert to the Orthodox Church, I think often of my Catholic brothers and sisters and of what they are suffering and I cry and pray for them. Not because there is anything wrong with the people, but they are subject to a situation that is like sending military soldiers into battle with fake bullet proof vests and plastic bullets. So many Catholic people have GREAT faith, but they are thrown into spiritual warfare without true guidance and protection and over time, that wears on any human heart and makes it very difficult to find ones way truly. If you have not yet read Saint Paisios of Mount Athos by Hieromonk Isaac, it is a beautiful book. So is the Six Volume series, Spiritual Counsels of Elder Paisios, written by the Sisters of Souroti: Vol. 1 - With Pain and Love for Contemporary Man Vol. 2 - Spiritual Awakening Vol. 3 - Spiritual Struggle Vol. 4 - Family Life Vol. 5 - Passions and Virtues Vol.6 - On Prayer May God guide you to a beautiful Orthodox parish and priest.

From many readings.. the Greek Church knows and has the whole truth and other jurisdictions need to be humble and accept historical precedent, like when the Greeks taught the Russians the 3 fingers when doing the Cross.
God bless our Russian Orthodox brothers for in this age they are the true protectors of the faith. The early Greek Orthodox fathers may have introduced the faith but nobody kept it more alive in it's purest form than the Russian believers. In the last two centuries the old Russian Orthodox believers have suffered, tortured and have been martyred more than any of the other Orthodox believers. I have nothing but the highest regard for their suffering during the time of the atheist Bolsheviks. Priest were tortured, drowned and humiliated. The same was done to the nuns and anyone who did not denounce and acknowledge the Bolsheviks. Russian churches were burned, destroyed, or transformed for other use. Many Russian priests resided on the holy mountain and many have been touched with the grace of our lord and savior. They have not adhered to the heresy of ecumenism. This is a great depiction of a true saint. However the title is very misleading, saint Paisios was not ecumenical. He many many times denounced the heresy of the pope and other Christian denominations which do not concur with the one true holy catholic and apostolic church given to us from the teachings of the apostles and kept alive ever since. As a Greek Orthodox old calendar, non ecumenical believer, I salute our Russian Orthodox brothers in the faith with the utmost love and respect. One last thing Saint Paisios prophesized that the Russians will eventually win back Constantinobily from the turks and return it to the Orthodox
@Arch Stanton Is Arch Stanton a Heretic. I can't say because God says Don't judge. Is Arch Stanton correct in accusing others of being heretical. Again I can't say because God tells us not not to condemn. Then who is Arch Stanton; He is your brother to treat as if you were to treat and respect as if he were your best friend. Is Arch Stanton an ecumenical believer. I hope not. Does Arch Stanton know how many Russians were killed tortured and martyred during the Bolshevik take over. I think not. Nevertheless Arch Stanton should not call others heretical in another language, what he should do when he disagrees with someone is to be polite and express to him why he thinks in a civil tongue why that person is wrong. God love you my friend.
It seems that you forget (or you don't know) what Greeks suffered for almost 500 years from Othomans and Bulgarians in Northern Greece until 1912 and how they kept their Faith. You probably never heard what Greeks from Asia Minor suffered until 1924. I'm not saying that Russians didn't suffer but you can't compare 500 years to 70...
@@dtr5175 Just 500? From the beginning of islam, Hellenism suffers. They would come as pirates and invaders in Greek lands and islands and would kill, destroy and take slaves.
The Russian old believers have kept the Orthodox faith in almost it's original ,purest form. They haven't been corrupted by these new age, modernistic ecumenical ideas. The Bolsheviks literally killed them off for not denouncing their Christian faith. Most martyred themselves and suffered immense torture as a result. To my Russian brothers in the faith, a great, great documentary on this truly awesome man of God who by the way was Not ecumenical. He denounced the heresy of the Pope and the demonic influence of Zen Buddhism, so why in God's holy name would you call him an ecumenical Athonite, Big mistake..
maybe you don't know what ecumenical means? you are greek are you not? the ecumenical patriaarchate is not ecumenical at in the heresy but as in universal
Russian, Greek and Serbian are all Eastern Orthodox, while Coptic/armenian/syriac are monophosite aka Oriental Orthodox. They do not accept the full Orthodox faith
@@josephsaab7208 Thanks for the input. The Coptics would probably say they have the full faith and that the Eastern guys are wrong. That was the first big schism from what I understand.
@@josephsaab7208 I agree. I think it's hard to know what's true. It seems like whenever someone says they have the true path that their argument for the true path can be undermined in some way. It's unfortunate, but I continue to ask God to definitively tell me what I ought to do. We'll see what happens.
The word "ecumenical" probably refers to the Greek meaning of oecumene "the whole world". So the title perhaps calls Saint Paisius the Athonite of/for the world.
segment [4:05:24 - 4:08:08] nobody believed in you like I do ... that's why on my passport, 2 eights are tight together while the 3rd is to the side ... Blessed are those who are born mad and judged as mad cause they will enter Paradise without a passport. Blessed are the children who lived in a spiritual environment and so tirelessly proceeded to the spiritual life. Matthew 1 17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are 14, from David until the exile to Babylon are 14, and from the exile in Babylon to Christ are 14. John 1 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Matthew 1 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way: After His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child by the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not willing to make her a public example, had in mind to divorce her privately. 20 But while he thought on these things, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for He who is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. However, triple-8 blessed are the unpriviledged children who not get helped at all. Instead they were pushed to evil. But once they heard about Christ their eyes shined and with a U turn their souls shined suddenly and they came beyond / out of the attraction of the Earth and slept in a spiritual path. However, triple-8 blessed are many cognitive who pretend to be mad for the love of Christ and laugh at all the vanity of the world because this madness is more precious to Christ than all knowledge and wisdom of the wise in the entire world. John 1 21 They asked him, “Who then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.” 33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘The One on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ Matthew 1 21 She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 14 21.
no he didnt,he never killed someone and of course, bullets could not hit him,i was blessed to see him in 1991.he was a phenomenon about 60000 THOuSAND miracles from saint paisios.BIG MIRACLES.I KNOW 5-6 TIMES people have met him alive after his death.A MAN with multiple sclerosis with no help from the doctors went with help on PAISIOS grave and now is ok.paisios came out FROM THE GRAVE ALIVE and spoke to him.he was ABLE TO FLY.ONCE a professor went to him and he told to PAISIOS=I do not believe how the apostoles of JESUS THEY WERE FLYING so to see the FUNERAL OF VIRGIN MARY.PAISIOS TOLD HIM =lets FLY TOGETHER TO the EUROPE TO SEE the UNIVERSITIES THAT you were when you took your diplomas.THE PROFESSOR i think is still alive, said= in FEW MINUTES I WAS FLYING with ELDER PAISIOS in the EUROPE TO THE PLACES that i was as a STUDENT.
He never killed anyone...in the war...there is a video in here with an old man he was a fellow soldier along with st paisios...he say some...intresting stuff
Jesus, Mary and the Christian saints do not generally appear to an ascetic Hindu for example, rather Krishna,Shiva,Rama etc. Whether it is mind generated or not does not really matter because the highest realisation, union with God, is union with Him as he is in his essential nature which is beyond name and form, beyond time and space and is not dependent upon form. God alone is, all else is illusory including sinners and saints for is God either a sinner or a saint? To realise this of course requires the basis of a strict moral and ethical discipline. However to become fixated upon oneself as a sinner and God as very much other than oneself is to I humbly believe miss the point of Jesus words about finding the Kingdom of Heaven the only place it can be found, not in the sky nor in the sea etc but within. And if we hate ourselves too much and believe that self hatred to be a valuable spiritual virtue then how can we welcome the King in to the temple of our bodies, minds and hearts? If God is God then by definition God alone is and therefore we should let God be God totally within ourselves by surrendering fully then it will not be I as a separate individual but Christ/God who lives and reigns "in me".
the word envisioned is wrong also real presence of the devine is also paired with events that affect people beyond the sight of the one who experiences it.
You could assume that if his behavior was abnormal. He performed miracles, healings, he knew everything about you before you speak to him, he could solve your problem with a word and many many more.. These are not fair tails because Saint paisios died in 1994 and here in Greece we have many people who met him and they have tell us their experiences firt hand. That's why so many people from all over the world were visiting Saint paisios.
Yes, I know. Catholics are Orthodox and the Orthodox are Catholics. I get it. Though the Roman-Catholics are included for both, I reckon, of these dynamics. These very good and dedicated Orthodox monks reckon all Romans are egoists. The net is cast too wide though, to the point of meaninglessness. Such is the way of every label. Surely there are some humble, genuine Roman Catholics too. For insight to these things maybe take a look at William Dalrymple's 'From the Holy Mountain' (1997). He was an English Catholic travelling to Athos and he speaks clearly and with self-deprication of the Athonite monks' confrontation of his Catholicism. Being both Engish and Catholic (Roman Catholic) perhaps gave him an insight. I reckon ecumenism is the best way forward in these things for everyone, together with the relgiious insights of humiltiy etc, and from whoever they come.

@Arch Stanton Okay my brother, Only read what you want to read. At the very least pray for me as l have for you. Stay well.
Is the monastery open as a retreat the laity?

Good film, so which church to join? Russian, Serbian, Greek, Coptic, something else?
Russian, Greek and Serbian are all Eastern Orthodox, while Coptic/armenian/syriac are monophosite aka Oriental Orthodox. They do not accept the full Orthodox faith
@@josephsaab7208 Thanks for the input. The Coptics would probably say they have the full faith and that the Eastern guys are wrong. That was the first big schism from what I understand.
@@isayoriental.2124 they would and so would catholics and so would mormons. But that doesnt mean it's true
@@josephsaab7208 I agree. I think it's hard to know what's true. It seems like whenever someone says they have the true path that their argument for the true path can be undermined in some way. It's unfortunate, but I continue to ask God to definitively tell me what I ought to do. We'll see what happens.

the ecumenical athonite.... ecumenical?!?
Meaning full or whole
I think it has to do with where he has origins. English isn't likely his first language, but understood as to your dislike.
The word "ecumenical" probably refers to the Greek meaning of oecumene "the whole world". So the title perhaps calls Saint Paisius the Athonite of/for the world.
marius molac That he is a saint to all Orthodoxy; ecumenical means of the whole world.

Blessed are those who are born mad and judged as mad cause they will enter Paradise without a passport.
Blessed are the children who lived in a spiritual environment and so tirelessly proceeded to the spiritual life.
Matthew 1
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are 14, from David until the exile to Babylon are 14, and from the exile in Babylon to Christ are 14.
John 1
17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Matthew 1
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way: After His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child by the Holy Spirit.
John 1
21 They asked him, “Who then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”
33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘The One on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
Matthew 1
21 She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

I love this documentary. The only thing that has me dumbfounded is the use of Catholic terminology which really bothers me.
what do you mean by "catholic terminology"? :(
@@dtr5175 When they said things like the rosary which is Catholic and a bunch of other Catholic terminology.
So he envisioned Jesus, several saints, Mary, etc. I wonder if this ascetic life-style is somehow prone to having illusions and hallucinations.
Not at all. Many saints had similar visions.
I know Paisius was anti-Catholic by turns though his own dedciation and life of prayer cannot be denied.
Anti-Roman Catholic maybe but not anti-Catholic as Orthodox are Catholic. 🤗
