We have had a volunteer military since the end of the Vietnam war. Unless he calls a national draft because WW3 starts, no one has to join the military or go into battle unless they choose to do so. If you want it to stay that way, we have to keep the threat from spreading by helping our allies fight for their homes.

We have been extremely lucky to help others fight in their homes, or to fund their fights for their homes. We are trying to keep our involvement to mostly funding their fights for their homes such as in Ukraine, or only using our volunteer military forces to defend us abroad. And the US always enter battle for the sake of our interests.

I lost my company during the Covid "Panicdemic", my savings in the bank is earning .0001% interest, the money I earned and saved for my retirement has suffered a huge loss of value due largely to inflation largely caused by out of control military budget that grows and grows and grows! My wife came home from the drugstore today with a "generic" version of the eyedrops I use to control the disease effecting my eyes and the retail price was almost as much as the name brand (more than $700 a month!!!!!). I watched an interview with Bibi Netanyahu a few days ago where he bragged about Israel having one of the strongest economies in the world…they don't need our economic aid! We do! Many Americans have been left behind by our high tech society, with AI just around the corner many of our most skilled and highly educated citizens will soon be joining the unemployment line. Stop using foreign wars as an excuse to enrichen the military industrial complex that General Dwight D Eisenhower warned us about way back in the mid 1900s.

@entereloaded I am an economist by trade, so to answer your question, the US economy did suffer after 9/11 but the effect was momentary and the economy was not in a state of high interest rates and high inflation when that happened, plus the US was attacked, here no one is attacking the US but the amount of pain and suffering will be felt for years to come if we keep printing money to fund other peoples wars, our kids and grandkids will pay for this war!
