The first one was badly cast. I love Holland but not one part of his performance screamed Nathan Drake or even a likable adventurer to follow.
You people have yourselves to blame. You made it the fifth highest grossing video game film of all time. Why??? 😑🙄😒

Take away the Mario film and you don't have much to work with
It's a great movie just a fun 2 hour movie if Hollywood would have made more movies like this they didn't have to worry about theatres going out of business

As a big fan of the games I couldn’t even get through the first movie. It was just SOOOO generic. Which is the main problem I have with a lot of big studio movies these days.

It happened the same that that movie about a lot of sand, that everybody now seems to overrate af
90% audience score and A respectful amount at the box office for A pandamic movie.
@@Lunapink93Uncharted had a 40% professional critic score and only made $400M (which is the same as Black Adam). Meanwhile, Avatar 2 made $2.3B, Top Gun Maverick made $1.4B and Jurassic World Dominion made $1B (all released in the same year).
I’m all for a sequel as long as it’s good
The first one wasn’t bad, it was the most 7/10 movie I’ve ever seen. But a 2/10 in terms of what uncharted could be, especially compared to the source material.

Uncharted is my second favorite video game franchise of all time, and I thought the movie was great. Can't wait for the second one.
Now that they have this lackluster origin story out of the way can we focus on what we all actually want: An actual adaptation of the game
Can’t get past the casting tbh, the good thing is uncharted is a realistic game so they can do whatever with the movie bc the game cutscenes already look the part

I think what hurt the first film was that it was in development since 2008 and it shows. It has five credited writers which me think they just took all the different drafts that they had and put them in a blender. If they can have a better script for this new one with less writers, it could be better.

Being a fan of the Uncharted franchise, I thought the film was enjoyable, but also very disposable. I do think it deserves to be considered one of the better video game adaptation films, it's clearly better than anything Uwe Boll has ever done, but I also wouldn't put it on the same level of quality as the HBO MAX adaptation of The Last of Us, another franchise from Uncharted developer Naughty Dog.
I am open to a sequel. Do I expect a Best Picture Oscar worthy film from the Uncharted sequel? No. I just expect a fun popcorn muncher that knows it will never be Raiders of the Lost Ark, but that's okay.
Uncharted 2? Hurry up, someone pull the script out of the oven. The first one was shxt!
If you watch the movie and just think of it as a separate from the games, then there's some enjoyment in it. It's a bad Uncharted movie, but a fun popcorn film.

Please God no... Tom Holland was terrible as Drake, Mark Wahlberg was terrible as Sully, come to think of it everyone who worked on the film was terrible from the Director all the way down to the catering company the production used.
The only kind thing I can say about the Uncharted movie is that its not as bad as the Halo tv show.
And that isn’t exactly a compliment either 😂
I enjoyed the first movie, nowhere near as good as the Uncharted games, but for what it was it was fun enough. I hope that they learn form their mistakes and bring in a bit more Uncharted game tone and take itself just a bit more seriously while maintaining humorous elements I think it can be another fun time at the theater. Oh and maybe get a director that can get Wahlberg to act instead of just being Mark Wahlberg with a mustache this time
I have never played any of the Uncharted games and only knew them by reputation. I enjoyed the film well enough. It was not an A-level adventure film but it was a solid Saturday matinee.

I think that there's hope for this series. There are promising pieces there if they elaborate on them smartly. Somehow I feel that it will all come down to Elena and how good her relationship with Nate is gonna be. Uncharted without Elena is like Harry Potter without Hermione.
There are so many characters that they could introduce. Hopefully they follow uncharted 2 story wise for the next film
Movie was fun. It's time for a rewatch, yet knowing a second is coming its sounds good. I will watch for sure. The video games are the best
401 million dollars says people liked it. The first movie in an origin story is always just meh but usually gets better with the following sequels so I’m kinda excited to see where they can take this. Introduce more characters more cool action scenes from the games like the train sequence from U2 world be cool the cruise ship from U3 the convoy chase from U4 lots of cool stuff lots of cool places they could go. My only concern is will Tom Holland be onboard to do all this action he had a hard time doing the action for the first film.
It was a fun adventure film, but a poor Uncharted adaptation. Not surprised they want to pull the trigger pretty quick though.
I remember a discussion when Uncharted first came out. I never played the games. I said that the movie would've been 10x better without Holland, Banderas or Sophia Ali. They literally brought nothing to the film. Sully had the best personality and development.

Maybe it’s because I’ve never played any of the Uncharted games and so it comes from a place of ignorance but I enjoyed the Uncharted movie, it wasn’t great by any means but I thought it was a fun action movie, and so I’d be down to watch another one

whether people played the game or not the movie felt inauthentic.
It felt more like people were using a popular game franchise and casting hot actors just cause its popular not because they actually cared about the games story characters and world.
I didn't believe anything, there wasn't enough grit, grime, n atmosphere, it felt like costumes and sets.
This could easily be todays indiana jones, it already is in the gaming world.
The games feel more real and more cinematic than the movie somehow, idk how they're moving on with a sequel unless they're doing some major retooling.

GOD NO! This could've been the next big Indiana Jones franchise but they had to cast a 12 year old as Drake...I really like Tom Holland but he is no Nathan Drake

He is a spitting image of a young Drake from Uncharted 3. But I don't think that anyone wanted a film about young Nate.
Mark Wahlberg was/is a terrible choice for Sully as well. Now I don't dislike Wahlberg as an actor, but he does not possess the suave smoothness that the character of Victor Sullivan is supposed to have. When I think Sully I think someone more like George Clooney. Wahlberg gives off the energy of someone who punches their way out of every situation rather than someone who performs sleight-of-hand and is basically a close-up magician with words.
I think it was also very telling that basically all Tom Holland talked about during the press junket interviews for the first film was the stunts.
That was awesome! I hope they won't be used among theives. (Worst uncharted games) Anyway, but yeah, I can't wait!

I bet this Uncharted sequel will be used as a soft reboot where they will keep the same cast but that they will retcon elements of the first film because it was not super beloved. This happens a lot when you do a first film that is not loved but still did a lot of money.
I'm hoping that they just adapt the first game into a movie.

I played all 4 main games and let me tell you tom Holland would definitely the better choice that Nathan fillion the role of Nathan is just too physically demanding fillion walk in the set instead of Holland and he would have broken his neck in the first week of shooting plus Holland is a movie star and that's Why the movie did great in box office and we are taking about a sequel right now with fillion that would have never happened nobody gonna see a movie for Nathan fillion

This is hilarious. People call Madam Webb bad but they went to see Uncharted and it got a sequel lol🤗 Lemme guess they the excuse will be, well you know it was more entertaining than Madam Webb. So is watching the last Home Alone sequel. But that doesn't mean much.

You really think the uncharted film was markedly worse than any of these other three films? They are all loud, dumb popcorn films adapted from source material that was notably better.

I think what they should do is just straight up adapt the first game's story. That's even what they hint at the end of the first movie with the after credits scene. They steal a map that mentions a German U-boat.
