After the outstanding performance (Y.T.) from James Gaffigan/Netherlands Radio P.O. with excellent soloists especially Andrei Bondarenko, this is very disappointing, flat and lacking in passion.
I feel, he is a great conductor. Maybe the cold and distant look of the soprano makes you feel that way. Anyway everyone has a different approach to the music, tks god!!!! , He is hard, elocuent, direct, precise and nevertheless deep in transmitting feelings to the musicians.I am glad we have this version. Anyway as you were mentioning Gaffigan I must says it is an incredible version of the few new versions of The Bells, there arent too many. Gaffigan and his approach is much different and the soloists are superb. I agree, much better version wit the Netherland Radio P.O.
And that wasn't a particularly good performance. Just returned from a live performance with the Philharmonia and Stanislav Kochanovsky which was electrifying
Brilliant!
Performance starts 3:39
Fantastic ❤

how annoying to have music at the start before the concert
21:07 is where the magic begins!
