    I think Lex Luthor actually works really well as an X-Man villain.
    Instead of being jealous of a single man for taking his spotlight, there is an entire race of people that seem “superior” to him.
    Instead of Xenophobia its racial prejudice against Mutants. He also can be a good foil to Xavier, Scott and the rest. X Men struggle with self acceptance while Lex Luthor adores the sound of his own voice.

      Lex Luthor and Magneto would have a great rivalry. They both prove each others negative points about the other side
      Magneto would reinforce Lex’s inferiority complex constantly while also proving his point that Mutants are dangerous to Human Supremacy over the planet. The same thing Lex accuses Superman of
      Lex would reinforce every Magneto says is wrong with humanity. Lex embodies all of our flaws, he shares all of faults but multiplied by 10. He proves Magneto’s fears every day
      Both would fundamentally share the same problem however. Pride. They’re both so prideful not only in themselves but in their respective races that they cannot coexist without them constantly trying to assert dominance over the other. Both are right, both are wrong. And there’s seemingly no true answer except for the extermination of the other side. Which both sides want and strive for. It’s a never ending grudge match of Human and Mutant Supremacy. One that if left unchecked will result in the Omnicide of everyone on the planet

      Shit, he'd probably be an even bigger threat if put in the Marvel universe, the ordinary citizens there are ready to riot at the first sign of anyone 'special'. He'd be a rallying figure like no other villain, with a genuine history as a reformer and honest public servant before going bad. And he's no slouch in a fight, he regularly brawls with gangsters and Batman in canon. Plus a bunch of guns, a corrupt cop army, private security, and manageable mobsters on his payroll, getting close enough to try beating him up isn't the easy option.
      Two-Face easily could be an antagonistic force that hampers the efforts of all the street-level NYC heroes like never before, so while he fits for Daredevil he could also be a foe for Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, She-Hulk (as a lawyer shredding her cases in court), even Spider-Man.

      I myself do have a problem with that. Vandal Savage himself isn’t racist but is instead more of a opportunistic villain who would do anything to conquer the world. Although he did ally with the Germans he probably wasn’t into their hateful ideology but instead only supported them so that way he could conquer the world. Even when he allied with a team that shared similar hateful views he did so not because he believed in their views but because he wanted to defeat his old enemies in the justice society. In short I highly doubt that he would explicitly go after Caps Allie’s or do any of the things that you mentioned.

    Sorry in advance that this is going to be a lengthy comment but as a marvel fan I’ve been waiting on this video for a while 😭
    Your use of Thor was interesting because Thor actually has more of a friendly rivalry with some of the Greek Gods in Marvel, especially Hercules and Ares. Both Ares has even been an Avengers, so I bet he’d actually be shocked and taken back to see an outright villainous version of Ares like he is in DC.
    In regards to what you said about Captain America not liking Deathstroke and Amanda Waller’s methods, I think you have a great point. There’s this one scene during Civil War I think, where villains are pardoned if they fight alongside Captain America but Punisher kills them anyways because he doesn’t trust criminals. Furthermore, Cap isn’t a fan of Punisher’s methods in general because he thinks they’re too simple minded and he would absolutely feel that way about Deathstroke and Waller’s use of the Suicide Squad.
    Hawkeye and Deadshot are actually a great parallel on the surface level cause it reminded me of the Dark Avengers comic, when villains disguised themselves as the Avengers and Bullseye (who can sometimes come across as marvel’s deadshot) took up the Hawkeye mantle.
    Your picks for Vision were really interesting, especially Amazo because I never thought about it but it seemed super obvious once you said it. There’s a long list of android/ai/cyber characters in the Marvel Universe that Vision has acted as like a philosophical guiding figure for so I could definitely see an interesting panel upon their first meeting where Vision and Brainiac have this really interesting debate about their ideologies or in the case of Vision and Amazo I could see Vision being the one to give a version of Amazo free will and having/helping him go on an arc similar to his storyline in the Justice League cartoon.

    As someone who's been workshopping this concept for a while: I actually think Lex Luthor would probably be a communal villain, just because he works with so many marvel heroes: the aforementioned tech mogul/power armor rivalry with Iron Man, he fits Norman Osborn's niche with Spider-Man, perhaps he could have a similar animosity towards Reed Richards as Doctor Doom, or his jealousy towards Superman could be translated into a jealousy towards Thor.

Of course, this being Luthor, this is merely a cover-up for his own personal envy of their power and how their existence hits him in his ego. In this scenario, Joker is also a (failed) attempt by Weapon X who would rather his past remain nebulous, ‘multiple choice’. Any attempt Logan makes at uncovering a trail, learning about who he was, the Joker is a step ahead destroying evidence 1.) to avoid parts of his past being uncovered and 2.) for shiggles seeing how it pisses off Logan. And no, even if the Wolverine would want to dice Joker immediately, why would it be easy?
    Daredevil vs Onomatopoeia: Matt already has gung-ho mercenaries and mobsters in his rogues gallery, why not give him someone decidedly creepy? Muse is a contender, but I think Onomatopoeia would give him a run for his money. Plus, how terrifying would it be for Matt to hear those noises, so many different noises, and put that blank face to them?
    Luke Cage vs Killer Croc: Like I said in a past video, Waylon Jones would resent Luke for being as strong as he is without being monstrous. That envy could drive an already heated animosity. And Croc wasn’t always strictly his strength, he was a devious killer upon his introductions, and fighting someone stronger than him would force him to get crafty like those earliest appearances.
    Jessica Jones vs Jane Doe: It has been a long time since Jessica has been a proper superhero, she’s better known for being a noir detective more than anything else. Give her a chilling serial killer and master of disguise as an enemy, have her play to her strength, you could get a really good story out of it.
    Iron Fist vs King Snake: Wow, there are plenty of supervillains with martial arts that could be appropriate (both Hellhound and Lady Shiva were considered for Danny and Matt) but David Cain, sometimes called King Snake, takes the cake for being connected, ruthless, and just vile. His devoted mercenary following, his abusive training that created Cassandra Cain, he could easily fit into Danny’s rogues gallery.
    Hope these are fun, might give you some ideas down the line.

    A lot of people talk about exchanging Batman and Spider-Man's rogues, but I think a better fit for Spider-Man would be Flash's Rogues. For one, the power differential between Batman and Spider-Man is so wide that most of Batman's villains wouldn't actually be interesting; Peter Parker would just utterly demolish them once it came to blows. Flash's Rogues offer some more intense firepower to challenge Web Head, and have a throw-back to the kind of goofy, early Spider-Man energy from the first decade or so of the character.

    I saw Deathstroke on the thumbnail and had to watch. I love him!
    I also agree that Slade would be an awesome villain for Captain America:
    He is essentially DC’s dark reflection of Steve Rogers: both are American soldiers experimented on to become super soldiers. While Captain America stayed loyal, Slade became an international mercenary. He was also a Vietnam War veteran, while Steve is from WW2.
    I think the story would be most interesting if Captain America and Deathstroke didn’t spend the entire time fighting, but actually discussed morality, their time in the army, etc. Slade is still an anti-villain but maybe they both leave the story with new perspectives.
    Slade’s characterisation from about 1980-2000 is the best version of him, IMO. That is the version that would actually have a conversation with Steve.
    Or maybe Slade’s contractor betrays him, and Deathstroke and Captain America are forced to team up to escape. (This happens in Batman Vol. 3.)
    Idk, but I think a crossover story with them has huge potential.
    And frankly at this point, I’d give my left eye to read a quality Deathstroke story that didn’t ruin Marv Wolfman’s characterisation.

    I was wanting your opinion on something. So in my ideal DC universe, after some Avengers: Endgame style event (most likely after they defeat Darkseid) a good bit of heroes would either retire or have died in the battle. So there would be a group of younger/inexperienced heroes that would make their own JL. My ideal lineup would be:
    Dick Grayson as Batman (Or maybe as just Nightwing. Haven’t really decided yet.) , Supergirl, Wally West as The Flash, Kyle Reiner as Green Lantern, Vixen, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Zatanna, and Martian Manhunter
    Now, I know what you’re probably thinking about Martian Manhunter. “Martian Manhunter isn’t inexperienced.” And I agree. But I think that this team would benefit from having a more seasoned hero to guide them and help them better understand the ways of their predecessors. What do you think? And what would your ideal lineup be?

    • @kingofhearts3185

      If we keep the MCU template, I think Nightwing would just feel the weight of legacy without becoming the new Batman (Far From Home), and keeping 1 or 2 veteran members makes sense since the MCU did that too. Otherwise the onlything I can offer for more members is look at the Young Justice cast and add some of them since you got the obvious ones.

    Here’s an idea. Deacon Blackfire as either a Daredevil or Moon Knight villain.
    Being a catholic, Matt Murdock would definitely get sucked into an ideological argument with Blackfire about God. He would detest him on a deep level, seeing his cult as a perversion of his faith. And if during these arguments he accidentally lets it slip that he’s a Christian, this would only further encourage Blackfire to try even harder to get Daredevil on his side. Things would definitely get heated in Hell’s Kitchen whenever these two square off.
    Moon Knight serves an ancient Egyptian god the same way Deacon Blackfire claims to be a servant of THE God. And while he’s mostly presented as “normal”, I’ve heard that there’s moments, specifically in his first appearance, where they like to tease the possibility that there might actually be something mystical about Blackfire. And this is so much like how they always hint at the possibility that Khonsu is all in Marc Spector’s delusional mind. I’m fuzzy on how these two would interact, but they’re a solid thematic fit for each other. I definitely think this could prompt Marc to reflect on some more uncomfortable truths about his relationship with Khonsu.

    Hello. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.
    Some points to throw your way:
    On Tony Stark/Iron Man vs Lex Luthor, it would be a very good match up; however, Stark would outclass him in armor. Even Dr. Doom conceded Stark does armor better than anyone, including himself. Luthor would need to outthink Stark in another department.
    The claim Deathstroke would beat Captain America is misunderstanding the character. Batman regularly defeats Deathstroke. Why would Captain America be at a loss with Deathstroke if Batman can defeat him?
    Hawkeye combatting Deadshot would be like Hawkeye combatting Bullseye.
    Hulk did encounter Parasite in a DC/Marvel crossover story in which Dr. Doom duped Parasite into absorbing power so he could turn him into a fusion reactor. Absorbing power from the Hulk did not turn Hulk grey or even into Banner but instead put him in a coma, just like he also did to Wonder Woman in the same issue. Parasite was only able to absorb their powers because Dr. Doom expanded his powers (for the aforementioned reason to turn him into a fusion reactor, which would have happened if he succeeded in absorbing Superman's powers as well). For a Marvel exploration of Grey Hulk combatting a Parasite type character, reference Grey Hulk battling Half-Life. Half-Life succeeded in absorbing Grey Hulk's power, which did not turn Grey Hulk into Banner but instead into an emaciated Grey Hulk; however, Grey Hulk explains to Half-Life he will once again turn back into his own diseased self with each sunrise, at which point Half-Life ends himself.
    Vision could manage Amazo much like the Flash did -- phase through his head and take out his computer brain. Vision vs Braniac would be a new and interesting take on Vision vs Ultron.

    Oh this was very interesting. In contrast to you while I definitely love both I'm much more Marvel leaning. I also found it interesting that this was absolutely an Avengers heroes more than general Marvel heroes. Unlike DC where the Justice League is very much a collection of DCs biggest most popular heroes, the Avengers for a long time were the B list heroes, popular sure, but not on the FF, Spider-Man and once you hit mid 70s X-Men level. I personally though have always been a big Avengers fan, that's my favourite faction of the Marvel universe.
    My most favourite character is Hawkeye and actually whilst I definitely understand where those picks are coming from they definitely aren't the most interesting to me. Hawkeye vs Deadshot seems very similar to Hawkeye vs Bullseye or Trickshot which franky those just conflicts of marksmanship are never the most interesting to me. I will say I definitely think Balckmask is a very good shout, though I imagine it would be quite similar to Clint's conflict with The Hood in Hawkeye Freefall (which isn't a bad thing since that's a top 3 Hawkeye comic for me).
    I think the most interesting conflicts for Clint are usually either something that challenges him personally or something that he can't just stop with some really great shots. For example Crossfire is his arch nemesis not actually because he's a match for Clint in Marksmanship (because he really isn't) but rather because he parallels Clint's own insecurities, Crossfire feels like he needs to best and humiliate this twerp, this weakest of all heroes with nothing but a bow and arrow who is somehow and Avenger because he needs to feel like he's better than than him, Clint often himself being a loudmouth because he's insecure himself, he's very aware he's the guy on the team with a bow and arrow, but he's persistent and always finds a way no matter the odds partly because he feels like he needs to be worthy pf being there. Which leads me to other conflicts for Clint I like, because I actually love Clint being completely being out of his depth and up against foes he has no right to be and finding a way to win often through trickery. Great examples are The Collector and the Grandmaster, the first of which he managed to beat through sheer persistence and more important the second he bested with a simple carny trick, because Hawkeye started out as a Carnival performer and is very much a trickster and showman. When Clint meets a foe he is utterly unmatched for his best course of action is always trickery, he can't beat them, get them to beat themselves. I could go into a bunch of examples, even in the MCU he beats vision simply by talking Wanda into it, and in the EMH animated series he talks the Hulk down by making him laugh back into Bruce banner and he just smiles cause if it works it works.
    All that to say if I was to pick any DC villain for Clint it would be mr mxyzptlk, someone completely out of his depth and not too easy to trick, certainly couldn't beat with his bow, but definitely someone he could manage to trick in the end as they both spend the story playing games with each other.
    Also just congrats of the success of the first video, hope this one does well too. (Parasite vs Hulk is a great shout)

    @john4348 19 дней назад +4

    I commented my matchups on your last DC/Marvel video and I'll say them again here...
    *Iron Man vs Doomsday*
    It would be an easy choice to put Doomsday against a heavy hitter like Hulk or Thor, but what makes Doomsday unique isn't that he's strong, it's that he can't be killed the same way twice, so he's a great villain for someone known for their ingenuity. You could have other Marvel heroes fighting Doomsday to subdue him and/or keep him away from civilians, but Tony would be the one who has to ultimately find the new way to kill him each time.
    *Captain America vs Vandall Savage*
    Two men from another time. You could give these two a very long history where they had run ins in WWII and continue to cross paths today.
    *Thor vs Zod*
    Two godlike beings who were exiled from their home world, with the main difference being that Thor learned from his mistakes and found redemption while Zod didn't.
    *Hulk vs Joker*
    Joker is known for his "One bad day" philosophy that anyone can become a monster if pushed far enough, and Bruce Banner is a walking example of this idea. Banner would struggle to break free of Joker's manipulation, as Joker could easily stress him out enough to turn him into the Hulk whenever he wanted and could just as easily switch him back with his Joker toxins.
    *Spider-Man vs Mr. Mxyzptlk*
    Spider-Man is someone who Mr. M would love messing with, as he's just serious enough to be bothered by his antics, but also relaxed enough to go with the flow once he gets used to it. Spider-Man's also known for his wit and would have a field day exploiting Mr. M's weakness.
    *Fantastic Four vs Clayface*
    I imagine Reed would have a similar relationship to Basil as he does to Ben Grimm, but more bitter. He is somehow responsible for Basil's condition, and tirelessly tries to find a cure, but this isn't good enough for Clayface, who doesn't believe Reed will ever find a cure and just wants revenge. The FF and Clayface both have a versatile powerset, so the fights would be very fun, whether it's a 1v1 with one member, or a 4v1 with the whole team.
    *Black Panther vs Black Adam*
    Both have powers based in magic (Black Adam more than Black Panther) and both rule a fictional country in Africa.
    *Punisher vs Catwoman*
    Punisher is known for believing all criminals deserve to die, and Catwoman challenges this mindset, as she's fairly tame by comic book villain standards. A rivalry between these two would blur the line between hero and villain and leave the readers questioning who to root for.
    *X-Men vs The Elite*
    The Elite is a team that fights against Injustice but slides into villain territory for being too ruthless in their pursuit, this is similar to X-Men's main rival team, the "Brotherhood of Mutants", and so would make a fitting rivalry. There's also the fact that both teams are led by a telepath.
    *Guardians of the Galaxy vs Lobo*
    You had Lobo as a contender for a member of DC's version of the Guardians, but he'd work even better as a rival to them. He represents how the Guardians used to operate before they became heroes and would have a similar relationship with them as the Ravagers do.

      Vandal Savage doesn’t necessarily have to be a enemy of Captain America. While they would have likely had run ins with each other during ww2 it is possible that Vandal Savage doesn’t view Cap as a threat to his plans and therefore isn’t interested in becoming an enemy of his.

    If you ever expand this topic you can assign some video games, anime, or movie villains to DC/Marvel and see where they'd fit into the greater universe. Like. Who in the world would Sephiroth be a villain for, for example.

      can you make a Damian justice league? like who would you put on the team?or make a team of heroes from image comics like youngblood, cyber force, former wildstorm characters and others?

    The Parasite and Hulk idea was my favorite idea of the video. I really like that concept and I'd be thrilled to see that come to fruition.

    If Waller was in Marvel, she would work with Kingpin, but the two just hate each other

    Another good villain for Hulk would be atrocitus. Imagine the chaos if he managed to tempt the Hulk into putting on a red lantern ring.

    -White Dragon and Ras Al Ghul for Captain America

    Iron Man-Doctor T.O.Morrow(Rouge inventor that hates Stark.Possibly introduces Red Tornado into Marvel)and KGBeast(Hes sent to hunt Crimson Dynamo who's working now for Tony);
    Captain America-Bane(like Steve someone that took a serum to be strong and fight for his country,)and Captain Nazi(Supersoldier fighting for Hitler);
    Thor-Livewire(electricity absorption) and Thaal Sinestro of the Ultraviolet Lanterns(Making him feel shame and unworthybess);
    Hulk-Doctor Psycho(Brains versus Brawn) and AtrociTous(Fighting rage with your fists);
    Hawkeye-Sportsmaster(Mercenary and rival)and Malcom Merlyn(possible teacher turned enemy of Clint);
    Vision-Doctor Ivo(The creator of the machine.In this universe he, instead of Doctor Morrow created Mister Twister)and Mister Twister(the machine that thinks he's human and is scared of not being human).

    Yes, I want more! Perhaps a fusion of DC and marvel billions based on their similar history. Such as Scarecrow and Mysterio or Penguin and Vulture.

    I like all the pairs,especially Thor and Ares
    Marvel has a Ares, he was a relatively big deal in the early comics, Thor had to team up with Hercules to fight him. Nowadays he's just another super , actually closer to what Ares is in Greeks mythology, while DC Ares still is a legitimate threat to WW and others superheros

    As a lifelong Marvel/DC dork, I've been dreaming up these kinds of cross-company matches since I was a kid. I've even had one adapted into a comic (Darkseid Versus Galactus: the Hunger 1995).
    This was a really fun video!
    Iron Man vs Lex has been waiting to happen since Byrne reinvented him as the evil Tony Stark in 1985.
    However, the ultimate clash would be Lex vs Doom.
    Toy Man sucks, but I bet Grant Morrison could write the hell out of that story! I could also see Toy Man get mixed up in a partnership or rivalry with Marvel's Arcade.
    Thor versus DC Aries would be great! Same with Mongul.
    I'd also like to see Thor have to battle his way through Apokolips and Darkseid. Possibly with the aid of the New Gods.
    KGBeast is a perfect rival for Captain America!
    Deathstroke is no weekender but he would get his ass handed to him by Cap. And not because Cap is a superior tactician. At the end of the day, Cap has heart and indomitable will. In the face of guys like Deathstroke he always rises to the occasion.
    Yes, Cap would have issues with Waller, but in a combined Marvel/DC universe, she would have her hands full dealing with Nick Fury. Likewise, the Suicide Squad would have The Thunderbolts to contend with.
    Hawkeye vs Black Mask would be awesome! But I'd rather see Black Mask take on Daredevil. Or Black Widow. Or Silver Sable.
    Hawkeye vs Deadshot would be awesome. But Deadshot would be screwed if he had to deal with Bullseye. Deadshot vs Punisher would be fun too.
    Hulk vs Parasite would be awesome! I think Parasite could probably take him. Although it also depends on which Hulk he's dealing with. Banner is smarter than Parasite. So, a Hulk with Banner in control prevails.
    Hulk vs Doomsday makes sense since Doomsday is just the Hulk.
    I think Hulk would win based on his experience. But it would be the fight of his life.
    I also think Doomsday would lose to Gladiator from the Shi'ar's Royal Guard. Still, Marvel's heaviest hitter is a deep cut super boxer called The Champion of the Universe.
    He would tear Doomsday up.
    Vision vs Amazo is an awesome matchup! Didn't they fight in the JLA vs Avengers comic? I can't remember it's been like 20 years.
    Amazo is basically the DC version of Marvel's Super Adaptoid. Or more like the other way around since Amazo came first.
    Vision would be a great match for Braniac. As would Silver Surfer or Captain Marvel.
