Press Club get off on the good foot for 2018 with the release of ‘Suburbia’, the third single from the band’s debut album Late Teens.
Conceived in a garage in Brunswick, the band worked the song from the verses up. ‘Suburbia’ was recorded live in one day during the Late Teens sessions at The Aviary Studios in Melbourne. As with all of their work it was completely self-produced by the band and engineered by the band’s guitarist Greg Rietwyk. Bassist Rufio MacRae citing that they “experimented with sounds, and the arrangement of the song to try and bring a vaster dynamic range to the album”.
The single’s artwork features an early 1960’s photograph of MacRae’s family home where the band spent a considerable amount of time refining their songs prior to putting Late Teens to tape.

So i first listend to this song in a really nice underground club in Frankfurt Germany. I just finished my first degree after studying medicin for 6 years. A couple of fellow students and close frtiends where with me this night. we danced our asses of this night and everything is blurry in my memory but when this song came on i immediately stormed to the Dj to ask which song was currently playing. It was this song and it was amazing! thank you for making this special night even more precious!
I saw these guys at Download Festival last week, the first band I saw of the entire weekend. Hadn't heard of them before I started listening to the festival lineup and was immediately hooked on Suburbia.
By the time I arrived at the stage Friday morning, I caught the end of their set and they were absolutely incredible! They ended with this song and it just felt so magic, especially with their interaction with the crowd. Really set the tone for the weekend for me and was a real high point to start my first festival in 3 years. Sound of the summer, what a tune

This was the first track I ever heard of this band just before Download Festival 2022. Within 15 seconds I knew I would be watching them open the festival on the Friday 🤘
I saw them at the Hackney Oslo too in November. Great gig and it inspired me to do a reaction video to Suburbia the next day! Love this band and latest album, Endless Motion, is ace. All of them are to be fair. Cracking band.
