hii , I've been revising for dystopia (ocr) and I was wondering if you had any predictions for section B :)) hope you have a great weekend. I'll let you know how the exam goes! (The texts I'm doing are hmt&1984)

Hello again - well done and keep going! The good news is that you'll have a choice of all 3 questions for Section B, since you've done two set texts, so you should find one among the three that will allow you to demonstrate your ideas and engage with the Q. (AO1), AO3 and AO5. In terms of ideas, the other good news, for Dystopian texts, options are quite limited - there are only a certain number of themes. Truth and lies/use of propaganda (2022) Pessimism or optimism/hope (2022) Use of torture (2021)? Utopian ideas that fail (2021)? What hasn't come up yet? Love and its challenges in dystopian worlds? Feminism and women's roles in dystopias? Masculinity? Look forward to hearing how you get on. Best of luck!

@bossingenglishwithmrf hi!!! Update : the exam went okay, unseen section was great it was Severance By ling ma (2018) I kind of talked about how it's a post apocalyptic society , it had dystopia elements of memory & the past , identity , mass production because it had a lot of references to global companies and i kinda compared that to brave new world + fordism & ownership and control + cultural imperialism idk if that was a good point I hope i waffled my way through it ) but also idk if that's right but since it was written in 2018 and it was based on a society with incurable diseases I kinda said it could be speculative fiction and kinda linked it to covid 19 n scifi idk i talked a bout other stuff too that now i dont really remember 😭 but anyway, section B was okay but my essay didn't feel complete :/ I feel like could've written more. I chose the 'fear' q. Also once again, thank you for your videos. I'll miss this channel . End of English lit!!

@@ang333ls. Thanks for your message. It's great to hear how your exam went and what the questions were. It seems to me that you've answered well and hit the AOs for Section A, especially A03 with Fordism and BNW. I'm sure you've done better than you think on Section B - we are often our own severest critics. I hope you continue to engage with literature and have some fun reading planned for the summer break. All the best for your future studies, Mr F!
