Hi guys. I see some of you are having trouble hearing me, may I know where are you viewing the video: on your mobile device or your computer? I ask because it's much lower on a mobile device than on a computer. I have now added subtitles to aid in the comprehension of what I'm saying, even though the video is self explanatory but I hope it helps a bit. Thanks for your patience.
PC Laptop, Windows 10, Chrome, Volume cranked and you are so quiet as to be barely audible, until 2:07 when the volume suddenly increases, but the sound is only coming out of the left. When you edited/tested the sound for yourself, were you wearing headphones? Did you accidently save with mono audio>? Please check your settings. If so many people are having problems, the cause must be on your end. You've made a lovely video and it would be nice to hear you clearly.
I love your work and how you explain everything your doing and why your doing it as well. Could you please do another video of your mermaid jar, it's the number 3 of your 3 in one videos. Thank you I love your work.
My favourite is the middle one, it's beautiful! But they are all really pretty and the last one is really imaginative! I love the effect of sea creatures having grown on it over time!
what can i say 😍😍😍 each jar is absolutely astonishing. such tedious work done so lovingly!! they are so magical looking. i may have to try with a smaller jar I'm a resin artist and not so good with clay but now and then i default to clay for a resin break. 😘
LOVE these projects! The shimmery effects are wonderful. How were you able to handle the jars after putting on the liquid clay? Thank you SO much for sharing, loved the vid.
I apply FIMO Liquid as I need to so I can still hold it. Maybe bake the top half first (especially with the first two jars) and then carry on with the bottom half. With the third one I was a bit more careful for I did all the barnacles at once.
The barnacles I found sliced my ankle up haha. 10 years ago or more so. Side note, just recently started using micas. Do some experiments to find the best techniques
I'm doing an ocean theme for my bathroom. I think using a combination of these ideas for my bathroom mirror frame would be epic! Any tips or ideas on how to make it sturdy? Also can you use another type of bonding agent for the clay?
If you're using polymer clay and baking the pieces directly on the frame, then make sure the frame is real wood and not MDF with veneers, because it will lift. I know from experience. If you're using air dry clay, then you're OK using MDF, I don't see why it should lift or react in any way. As for bonding agents, I don't use anything else apart from liquid polymer clays, because they are compatible with polymer clay and they were designed for it, but I've heard some people used PVA glue with similar results. I can't tell you if this works or not, because I've never used it myself, but you could try on a small piece of clay and find out.
If I use a beer bottle will it also not shatter or should I only use things that specify oven safe? Are these that you used advertised as oven safe? Also do you use a special oven? Thank you. I loved your video.
No, none of the jars I use say they are oven safe because they are simply sauce jars that I like to recycle. I never had a problem with them because I first put the jars in the oven and then turn the oven on so that they warm up together and the glass doesn't suffer a temperature shock. I had other "oven safe" dishes crack in the oven but not these. Also the temperature at which polymer clay cures is relatively low. Another thing that helps is covering the jar with a big enough saucepan or dome made of tin foil to protect the jar further. No, no special oven is needed to bake polymer clay. Some people use toaster ovens, but I've heard a lot of complaints due to the temperature fluctuating a lot in this kind of ovens and sometimes burning the clay. If you are worried about the jar cracking, you can use air-dry clay or oven safe or Mason jars. I don't see anything wrong with using a beer bottle, as long as you place it in the oven when it's cool and then turn it on. Also, when you're done baking your clay, turn the oven off and let the bottle cool down in the oven, or let it cool there a little before getting out. If it doesn't have a wide/stable base, I'd suggest letting it cool down completely or almost completely before you take it out of the oven. And always remove the tray on which it's sitting, never the bottle/jar on its own. Polymer clay is not strong while is still warm and of course, you don't want to risk burning yourself either ^_^ Whether you use a jar or not, never exceed 130 degrees Celsius or the clay will burn. Really hope this helps :)
Thanks. I have more marine animals on my "to do" list. I'm not sure what kind of piece you mean...something flat to hang on a wall? I do have a seahorse pendant tutorial, if you're interested :)
Also I just thought of this...do you put the glass in there when you start the oven and let it cool before removing? I used to paint glass with bake on enamel and if cold air hit the not glass of would shatter
Noah Murphy I would have put the jar in a cold oven to get up to temperature, then bake for the required time, then let it cool completely. just because I feel like it might be safer.
Was that on your mobile device? For some reason RUclips videos play at a much lower volume on mobile phones than they do on a computer. It's not something I can help I'm afraid.
Thanks for this tutorial. They're all lovely but my favourite is the coral and barnacles, so clever. Blessings btw I turned on my subtitles to follow you, the sound almost non-existent.
Hi, thanks. If you were watching on a mobile device, the sound tends to be much lower than on a computer. In fact, is very loud on my laptop but not on my mobile phone. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi Maive. Your voice-over is normally v quiet as you have a lovely soft voice, but today the sound is particularly low. Even on full sound, I can barely hear you. Think you may have some tech issues to investigate, hun. x
Ho Joanne. Are you watching the video on your mobile device? Because for some reason, videos are much lower in volume on mobile phones than a computer (It is on mine). But unfortunately it's not something I can help. Sorry.
Thanks so much for replying Maive, - No I don't do mobile, I'm on a laptop & all other videos are playing fine (& they're extremely loud when played before & after this one), but I do notice now that quite a few other people have commented having the same prob on this vid, so something's not right somewhere. I used the auto closed captions, so I'm fine - I just didn't want your views to suffer on such a great video esp when you've put so much work into it; knowing how people are, they won't share a vid that they can't hear even if it does have closed captions. Hope it works out x
the volume is so low in your video I cant hear you even if I turn the volume very high Edit: ok it s just the first jar... everything else is loud and clear. beautiful work by the way
Hi there, I am sorry for the inconvenience. I know there's a difference in the sound...Basically, I used a microphone to record the voice over but after a few minutes of using it Adobe Premiere Elements wouldn't recognize the microphone anymore and I had to use the one on the laptop, that's why the sound is different. However, I set the volume to be the same throughout, but I think Adobe plays with the levels of the voice over automatically and I don't know how to control it. I am still learning how to use this new editing software, I am no expert! ^_^

Hello Danielle. I know some people can't hear this video so I reuploaded it straight after this one, you can find it on my channel. I have left a note in the description with a link to it as well. Hope you can enjoy that one.

So love the jars. Could u make a piece big enough to hang on the wall for like a bathroom?? Id love to see octopi 🐙 and seahorses
Thanks. I have more marine animals on my "to do" list. I'm not sure what kind of piece you mean...something flat to hang on a wall? I do have a seahorse pendant tutorial, if you're interested :)
I love the 3rd jar! Did you pre bake the 3rd jar after adding the coral around the top?
Noah Murphy this is my question also.
Yeah it is much safer. I learned that lesson the hard way.
Noah Murphy *cringes*
❤
I thought the same thing so I clicked on another video and nearly blew my ears off lol.
Was that on your mobile device? For some reason RUclips videos play at a much lower volume on mobile phones than they do on a computer. It's not something I can help I'm afraid.
Maybe, but it fixed itself when you started the second jar. Beautiful work!
for once youtube recommendations didnt let me down
Awww..thank you Rachel, much appreciated :)
Thanks for this tutorial. They're all lovely but my favourite is the coral and barnacles, so clever. Blessings btw I turned on my subtitles to follow you, the sound almost non-existent.
There is a problem with your sound. I still watched and love the project
Hi, thanks. If you were watching on a mobile device, the sound tends to be much lower than on a computer. In fact, is very loud on my laptop but not on my mobile phone. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm watching on computer but can't really hear anything. But I watch anyway. :D
No, I'm on my laptop and hear basically nothing with sound at 100%.
Kerri Dent same!
that'd because she didn't say much
Can you make these with air dry clay ?
I don't see why not ;)
Helloo... I have one confusion.. U do not bake this clay.. no need for baking ??
Yes, polymer clay needs to be baked.
Maive Ferrando -- But in this video she is not baking ..She makes directly shapes and desgin on the jar... it means this is not polymer clay..
I CANT HEAR A WORD YOU'RE SAYING! LOL
I reuploaded this video straight after with better sound, you can find it on my channel.
Very cool. Don'tcha love using tools for other than their original purpose?
Thanks! You mean the crochet hook? YAAAAS!
Qual é o tipo de massa que você usa é massa de biscuit Qual o nome da massa por favor

I also noticed that is much lower on a mobile device than it is on a computer. I did some research and this seems to be the case on all androids.
Whats with the sound?

My laptop, not mobile. And the despicable me commercial right before it loads is perfectly fine.
I really liked your video, but your sound is I coincided.
