Persian rugs look amazing on wood floors, they have a lot if colors and patterns, but they are the real deal and of course they can be expensive.
I love the rings on the table to your right. The deep lush pewter-ish color is fantastic.
Valentina, I would love for you to do a video with specific steps to discover our personal styles... and how to decorate, highlighting our cherished items. Thank you!
This type of video is how I found you in the first place after searching on RUclips for ways to make your home look more expensive. My home is now looking more polished and more sophisticated all because of you, so thank you.
That's so awesome Melissa!
H&M pillows are underrated, i like them more than ikea ones for the same money.
I truly appreciate your advice on interior design. I love accessories as well. My problem is finding storage when changing/ switching out items and not forgetting about what I have in my closet full of decor. These are not "seasonal items" so I'm struggling with finding a use again and/or where to repurpose.
This type of video!!! I miss these types of videos :) This is how I found Valentina’s channel and never turned back since!
I like Ruggables. I like your outfit.👍🏼 Great video- Thank you!
Yes, I agree about the glitter!
I'd love to see you focus on smaller businesses and artists that offer unique pieces online. Yes, I buy from Amazon, Home Depot, Target, Pottery Barn, et. al. Many times I go into someone's home and can tell exactly what decorator they follow simply from where they buy their decor. Ease is great. But unique is better.
We mix the two in our home. We collect unique pieces as we travel and explore but we also bring in pieces from other businesses. We also try and make design more democratic, allowing people access to more options. So we try to balance budget, availability and style so that more people can access good design.
Oftentimes, I use Valentina's suggestions as jumping-off points for looking for similar but uniquely sourced items. However, before I found Valentina, Pottery Barn was my favorite place to dream of future spaces. I just happened to find her when I could finally afford to buy from there. 😄
I like your hair colour at the moment Valentina, it does suit you 😍 great tips, thank you 🙏🏻🇬🇧xxxx
Bedding for Spring and Summer would be a great video. Items that transition well to colder months.
Your zebra rug in your sunroom was the best look
You are always so inspiring Valentina. We can never get complacent around the home, with Valentina in our lives😉😁 x
I love my blue and beige persian rug as it is an original and very unique and high quality. ☺️ But it can be quite loud so I use it in front of the piano and keep the rest of the area as quiet and minimal as possible so it doesn’t feel „too much“. 😃
Agreed about IKEA sofas. You can wash the sofa covers too, or change them out for another color pretty easily. I love that.
Have you made a video on the staircase? Stair treads or stair runner? What's the best?
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing your ideas!
I'm SO with you on the glitter Valentina!!! Love you videos and tips!!💙💙💙🏴🏴🏴
Another place you can find art is at sidewalk art fairs. You many art schools have student art sales where you can get many thing for not much. Also you’ll be helping local artists and you not find the next Picasso.
Very insightful on this topic, love it V!!
My girl! Love that I'm sticking with you in 2023! Been a subbie for 2 years now 😁
You're the best!
Hello Valentina. Thank you for sharing your home and tips with all of us. Blessing's to all.
Thanks for all the great tips!
❤hi I'm rewatching, trying to tweak my home, sharpen it up.. I Love your pants!!! & shirt! Ty😊
Valentina thanks so much for this video. This is exactly why I love to watch you. You know I steam iron my sheets. It’s something I do weekly after washing -never thought about steaming. I like to do it to keep mattress fresh too. Love to hear about your projects. By the way you look absolutely fabulous in that outfit.
If you have smaller pieces of art you love and don't want to replace them with larger generic decor, use neutral colored mattes to create more visual impact.
That's a really good suggestion and tip! Love that!
Omg - great idea!!! Going to try this!
Another wonderful video... and more inspiration !!!
Thank you for another great video. ❤
Love your videos. You are always changing up your decor - where do you store everything that you aren’t currently using?
Even though I like the country style, I found that your suggestions and ideas (exemple : your home) helps me to upgrade my cottage home. Merci !
You were right!!!!!! I ordered 4 new 20" pillows with 22" down inserts from your suggestion on one of your previous videos. Wow, love them. Thanks
I’m definitely inspired, thank you 😀🤍💯
SUCH a fantastic video-- it's informative and I love the visual examples that you provide. I subscribe to several interior design channels, and many of your recommendations are ones that I've heard for the first time. This is all so helpful. I've followed previous recommendations that you've made and LOVE the impact they've made. My home has since received compliments from every single person who has visited. Planning to purchase vases similar to what you've shown.
Love this video, you always give great advice and get my creative juices flowing lol! It would be fun to do a series where people tag you in the spaces they’ve created and you and hubby judge the design.
Thank you for the enjoyable visit! You always inspire! I'm in the midst of organizing, and I'm so ready to start restyling every room with a nod toward spring. Mostly due to you, I have all the elements, so I just have to put them in place...once the organization chaos is gone!
That sounds great Cynthia! The organization part isn't as much fun but definitely makes the decorating a bit easier.
Thank you Valentina as always getting so much inspiration from your videos. My home looks amazing, that’s the compliment I get whenever I have a visitor. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. ❤
Yay, thank you!
Swear we do not deserve you! Omg you give us the best tips and I absolutely love everything lol
Thank you so much!!
great video. I suggest too, when looking to get a good sofa, check out your local thrift stores, used furniture, etc. Chances are you will find an older qualify made sofa, that you can re-upholster, and you can get a better made sofa than what is made today.
Love love your channel.
Very video of yours is perfection!!! Thanks for your amazing content. I am so inspired and every home decision I make I think “what would Valentina do” lol
Can you do a video on lighting? We’ve lived in our house for more than a year now, but we still have those ugly construction light bulbs hanging from the ceiling in the living room and in our bedroom because we’re really struggling with finding lamps that fit the space, have a certain design look to them and aren’t horrendously expensive… Help!
I’m having this exact issue right now, would love a video on lighting!
you always make me laugh. so nice!!
I always enjoy your videos V!
Thank you so much!
It would be so fun if you did a canvas painting tutorial!
Btw, do you have tips for tiny houses?
Thanks so much!
Thank you for your inspiration
White shag rugs elevate my space. Love them! I have washable ones from Amazon.
Thank you for sharing this tips
Any time!
I have improved our house so much by using your videos. Thank you so much🇨🇦
That's great!
Hello Valentina, I would like to let you know something about the sofas of West Elm. The sofas of them have plastic legs the vast majority. It is very sad that a sofa with the prices they have have such cheap legs. They should have them made of wood 😝
Thanks Valentina
Great Tips
The mood boards are always very helpful. Thanks! And can you please link your coffee mugs in your videos? They’re always so nice, especially the brown zebra print one. 😊
Love your vid, thanks again
Thank you too!
Pet owners, please research your scented products if you have cats or dogs. Some fumes cause respiratory problems, some are poisonous, even more so if your pet has asthma. This includes candles, potpourri, sprays, plug-ins etc. I LOVE scented candles but my cat goes into sneeze attacks when I use, so I just put some oranges etc in water on stove on low and let the scent fill that side of the house.
Haverty's and Ashley's have nice sofa's that are affordable, as well!
I'm in the process of getting our home built. And thanks to you, I have so many great ideas to make my home look luxurious. You have really inspired me a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. Keep them coming!!
I’m sure your home will be absolutely beautiful 🦋
@Tammy Brennan Awww Thank you so much for your lovely wishes 😊. I truly appreciate it.

Love your channel. Would you please link the black bowl. Thank you 😀
To get those pricier brands like Pottery Barn,West Elm, Restoration Hardware,etc...I like to go to estate/yard sales & thrift stores in nicer neighborhoods. I even check the better neighborhoods on FB marketplace. I have so many high end pieces for a fraction of the cost.
That's a great idea!
@@HouseofValentina thanks😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ just found you two weeks ago while I’m visiting from California my bf that lives in London and was searching ideas how to elevate his apartment decor. Absolutely love your channel and so does my bf. Thank you ❤
That's so awesome! Welcome to the channel!
With spring comming near I can't wait to get out and. Look for some. Up scale looking home decor. Thanknyou for your direction. Do you have a favorite. Candlefish. Scent? Iam not a fan of patchouli though. Do. Love vanilla. Type soft scent. Thank u
I found brass (they look golden) cylinder doorstops with brown leather handles at Target. I thought of you and I was like “Valentina would like these. They look like something from one of her videos.”I actually bought two. I never just buy decor on the spot but it was so beautiful and perfect. Here is the exact name of the doorstop of anyone wants to check them out: Accented Metal & Leather Doorstopper Brass Finish - Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia
Thanks Heather. I'll look those up!
Thank you!
Very good video. I watch you all the time. Do you have any recommendations for a ceiling fan in a master bedroom. I live in Texas and our master bedroom gets hot so we need a ceiling fan but I have a hard tube finding one that is sophisticated. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful home and lifestyle idea. I'd like to suggest that purchasing original art from art students would also be a choice and would help the emerging artists.
Great tips! Can you share the source for the white hobnail textured planter behind you in the video? I love white pieces with texture. Thanks!
This is some of my favorite content. Straight forward information and examples. Love it.
Hi Valentina! I absolutely love your channel! Pure inspiration and class! I have a question that I know you’ll have the answer to. I recently bought RH bedroom set (St. James) as I see in your videos you have one of their pieces. I’m conflicted, however since I bought two nightstands- one open and one closed like they have in their showrooms. I don’t know if I should have went with two open for symmetry. If you can let me know your thoughts I’d SO GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!! 😊
Just a suggestion regarding sofa replacement. If sofa style is not terribly dated I would suggest slip covers. Very inexpensive compared to a new sofa!
Love it! Off topic question- who makes your shirt? I love that too! 😂
Lulu candles, I also make my own, yatra and nag champa incense, bundle your own sage too is nice,
Hi Valentina! Thanks for this. I hope you can reply if you have time- I am looking for a new rug for our bedroom and family rooms, and I thought a wool persian rug would be amazing (we have a mostly Parisian style in our home). But it makes sense that a monochromatic rug would be less busy and more sophisticated. How do you know whether an oriental rug or monochromatic rug is best?
Dear Valentina, could you advice some light for an outdoor dining table in a patio or terrace?
I agree with you about glitter, especially with silk flowers. But what's your opinion on metallic accents? Sometimes they can be used to bring a bit of pop to an artwork.
We'd bought a new living room set recently after 26 years. We always go for natural colors, even 26 years ago. That's how we managed to keep them "instyle." Anyway, I think if buying a new sofa is not in the budget, getting a sofa cover is not a bad idea, just a thought.
Hi Valentina. I love your channel and your modern classic design style.
Getting my bathroom done now and the tile I picked is not having the impact that I wanted. It's a faux marble Carrara statuario. Basically white with minimal charcoal veining. This is the shower wall and floor tile for the ensuite. Now I'm confused as to how to style the rest of the bathroom. I really don't want an all white bathroom. I just ordered a black oak vanity and all my faucets are chrome. What are some good options for wall color that will add a wow factor? This tile is not doing it unfortunately 😕 . I appreciate any help with this.
Good Advice
I just got the pinched black vase from west elm on clearance!
Love❤
Valentina, I love your videos . My wish would be to share a picture of my living room space so you can tell me what kind of sofa to buy( color, lenght..). I’m ready to buy but dont know what yo buy 🤷♀️
Quick question: Does the Bissell Carpet Cleaner come with a long hose? I’m asking because I need something to clean carpet on steep stairs! Thanks.
I know it's not the point, but I love your outfit!
what is the brand do you recoment for steamming the beadding?
I agree with you that the arts with glitter is ugly OMG. Neutral rugs I also love especially when your living room or dining spaces are small. Thanks for the tips on RH outlets.
I loved the Ring sculptures in your video but at 231.00 that's a bit pricey for me. I wish some you could show something comparable to those at a lower price point.
I like a linen duvet cover heavy starched before it gets on the bed
No glitter for me! Look to local artist for your artwork. There are a lot of great artists. If they sell prints they can be economical as well. I do my own watercolors and photography.
I agree. I buy from local artists and create my own artwork. I love to work with acrylics and sometimes oils. I love thrifting and re-finishing furniture I find at garage sales, thrift stores. I have found some beautiful handmade kiln fired ceramics, vintage solid wood furniture, etc. This way... More personal than from stores that mass produce. Still I sometimes need to get rugs, furniture from stores... It is a necessity at times. So seeing products from stores does help at times. 😉
We do a mix of all of it. We still shop estate sales, some flea markets and antique stores as well.
@@HouseofValentina Awesome!
For the guest room, I always iron my pillowcases with perfect creases left in. To me, that immediately signals clean, fresh sheets to the guests. Not necessarily recommending, just sharing a weird thing I do.
I iron the hand towels in the my bathroom so they lay completely flat and crisp so I totally understand that. My mother in law irons her pillow cases too.
@@r-e_mii My grandmother and great-grandmother used to sprinkle with water and roll the pillowcases, and put them in a bag in the refrigerator. She would then iron them. Apparently it made them smell fresh off the line like a spring day, or something. It was decades ago and I can’t exactly remember. I will say I haven’t thought about that in years.🥲
@@mikam8801 I believe they did the sprinkling and rolling of clothes was because there weren't many steam irons years ago. The wrinkles were easier to get out that way. My mother always did that also.
@@carolbaratta3663 Thanks. That makes sense. I swear I have a memory about the smell though, although memory is known to be flawed or conflated. Maybe it was “crisp” instead.
Can you steam bedding if you have a memory foam or latex mattress? I would be concerned about the heat
Valentina, I have quite a few different shape vases that I purchased when we renovated, do you think I could get a paint and spray paint them to the colour I’m wanting, some are very pretty shapes and I don’t see the value in replacing them with new ones. Thank you for sharing great tips on Your channel. Of course I’m wanting to spray paint them into a lovely black…🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🥰🥰🇦🇺
Nellie, that's a great idea and I've done the same before. I always like a mate paint and you could also explore some options that would add a bit of texture to them.
Would you like to know what I do when I want to make my house smell good.I usually make a pot roast make the house smell very good.
❤❤❤
I so agree with having a neutral area rug to define a sitting area or around the bed. Ive opted for a wool Nortic Knots rug, and love the look and feel as I step out of bed each morning. The books I display (near my collection on mid century vases) are 100 year old fiction with gorgeous illustrations and filigree chapter numbering. Thank you for your tip about steaming. I try to get the sheets out of the dryer and right on the bed, but my hand steamer would do the trick, too!
Wow, it sounds like you have some amazing pieces around your home!
Can you paint over the glitter to give it texture especially if the rest of it is painted textured?
is your living room mirror above the fireplace aged brass or vintage brass
❤️
Valentina i love your darker hair 💕💋very chic
Could anyone please tell me where to look for those metal circles sitting to her left? I appreciate it.
Get your art from the artist. Yes, it costs money, but it's worth it. Support artists!
