In my opinion one of Marvel comics' gems! He's not given enough recognition! For me at a young age, I liked him MORE than Spider-Man, as crazy as that sounds! Plus for a long, LONG time, he endured! Even if he was in the background. Alas...it's sad that Chris Powell's story came to an end....But the Darkhawk series is being relaunched with a new amulet barer. But I would LOVE to see classic Darkhawk possibly brought into the MCU!
Why would you liking Darkhawk more than Spiderman sound crazy? You don't have to like Spiderman or any other hero or villain for that matter, and you are entitled to your preference(s).
I LOVE DARKHAWK!!!!! I am very proud that I have a complete run of his series and all later mini-series. I realize that may impress absolutely no one but me, but I do not care. He is one of my two f.o.a.t. Marvel characters. I just really loved this book. Thank you for this video.
DarkHawk happens to be my favorite special super hero,When I read the comic book I'm dreaming becoming the Dark Hawk super hero,Dark Hero is a cool superb Hero😃😃😃😃😃💪I💗it!
In the 90s I use to collect sleepwalker and dark hawk issues for no reason, to me, they were the weirdest characters from MCU. Along with slapstick. Dark hawk feels like an attempt to be like Guyer + hawk but fighting marvel villains and criminals.
Absolutely freaking love Darkhawk from his 90s debut. Absolutely started strong. Even remained good through the cosmic and evil hawk introduction. Did not like Abnett's retcon nonesense. Looking forward to more Chris Powell. EDIT: Most definitely not a Batman expy.
He was always my favorite hero from dc or marvel. When marvel legends released his figure I was so happy. Glad to see he's getting some recognition, just wish he'd be in some games
The thing about how well a character can translate to live action is really based on how well there powers express in action. Invincibility, easy hit them with a car/truck/airplane. Super Strength, punch something big. Dark Hawk, space iron man. It’s why they changed Ms.Marvel, looked too much like Mr.Fantastic. It’s about how it looks. Not what it is.
Dude some of old school comics that marvel and dc produced were freaking wild bro , they had so many hidden gems like darkhawk and so many others, its sad that most comics don't have the same juice that the old ones had with so many obscure characters with so many cool stories they should bring back some of those obscure characters back in some form , the video games would make it better .
do another 90's character Marvel made called Nightwatch, also DH is not bad thou ##50 is getting up there, short-print and plus not many people buying his comics.
I was a big Darkhawk fan for a while, but it seems like they don't know what to do with him and just giving him occasional appearances to keep the copyright. The retcon did it for me. What he thought was his origin (a space mobster having Darkhawk tech be invented to keep his agents alive) was inventive and unique. Turning it into false memory was wrong on par with "it was only a dream" story arcs. Same with saying his anger issues was due to the amulet. It's OK to give a hero some mental problems.
I still have my original #2nd issue love this guy when I was a kid still do I’m happy we got a marvel legends figure of this guy but hope they do a issue with a little more detail and mold
Seems like those writers at marvel read the Guyver manga in the 1980s and decided to rip it off, the amulet is the guyver unit, he even gets ripped out like the guyver, it comes from an alien race like the guyver unit, found by a teenager like the guyver unit
Darkhawk I always think this character had a connection to a future hero Starhawk there's a similarity in powers and something else the source of they powers are different but Starhawk uses light but with darkness light could not exists and there's one other element involved symbiosis the same as you know who Null and probably another welding magic like Scarlet Witch? Maybe his powers as an alien Android could have a run in with Vemon and Vision and Machine Man Starhawk crossover story set in the future and time travel epic including a story about the true origin of his name and powers source which I think has had connection to the Negative Zone and another alien race the Skrulls to and Dr Spectrum?
I always thought that maybe they should make the amulet just ONE PART of the armor/robot when Chris changes.... That way people QUIT TRYING to jerk it out!!! It's ridicules how often that happens... Nobody tries to rip the glowing circle out of iron man after all.... It really gets dumb and should have been addressed. Also what happened after the sleepwalker event?.. I never saw what happened next... Except Chris is somehow trapped on a ship where he was dying and or died...Sent the amulet to a very boring new individual... That nothing REALLY happens with except he talks to Miles..... (which should have been KINDA impossible given the last issue of the original run)...It was just one HECK of a "left turn"... That wasn't just "not asked for" but also a "WTF" moment... Not a good character anymore. (one could even argue WHICH Chris that was, considering he had a future that was apparently different)
Marvel Batman characters (in one way or another): Iron Man, Black Panther, Moon Knight, the Punisher (yes, I went there), and now Darkhawk (who is also Marvel's Blue Beetle). But still, when Marvel was challenged to make THEIR Batman... he was a "rich" pro-wrestling guy turned crime fighter whose story is like a comic book person made it up on the spot while getting wasted at a bar talking to another comic book person on the same project. Marvel did Batman in one way or another A LOT, as well as Superman, Flash, Aquaman, etc... they are more tropes than actual characters outside of DC. I mean, Wonder Woman, a feminist icon in DC Comics, the best one, is a character originally created by a trio of two ladies and their guy with a bondage fetish that has the guy dominating. Superman as created by Jewish authors, and they ended up envisioning and creating Superman, the above-perfect superhuman, the very vision of WWII master race on steroids, as an alien, as also a native... so, if WWII Nazis and Jews had their perfect baby on top of being godlike. I mean, I love Marvel over DC for the most part, but DC... where it goes first and what it creates, you must marvel over the ground it breaks. Most of it is inspired by non-comic sources like modern tragedies and world mythologies, but they went there first. Keep in mind that DC Comics was originally Detective Comics, and it wasn't the superhero universe it is now. Batman was originally just an odd PI type, and Superman was originally a heavy-gravity world native human. If they never progressed, their Anime and Marvel inspirations would have been far tamer and lamer. Goku (Dragonball) would be just a Monkey King retelling, but with modern/future tech while Darkhawk her might have just been DC's modern Batman but with a Marvel label.
I loved the techno-mystic vibe of the Darkhawk design, but Chris' character was kind of "meh", and the storyline took a long, winding road to any kind of cohesive plot. Really felt like DH was a lot of wasted potential, imo. Which is probably what led to the book being discontinued
But in NO WAY was Darkhawk EVER a "Batman-y" character. NOTHING about DH = Batman. Anyone who says some angsty teen who accidentally found an amulet and basically randomly ran around weilding the superpowers it gave him = the kid who watched his parents get murdered and spent his entire life training his mind and body to become a non-powered hero who was incredibly capable thanks to his ingenious inventions, sharp mind, and hard-earned skills (yet was still vulnerable to injury).... Well, whoever says that loses a lot of respect from me, lol...
Guy finds a magical stone and 30 sec later he’s fighting bad guys. Also didn’t know mob criminals make secret plans in high school locker rooms. Lastly suit can stop bullets but gets hurt by shrapnel. Worst character design ever. Suit looks like a cheap power ranger/bmx biker from the 80’s.
In my opinion one of Marvel comics' gems! He's not given enough recognition! For me at a young age, I liked him MORE than Spider-Man, as crazy as that sounds! Plus for a long, LONG time, he endured! Even if he was in the background.

Nobody is dead in comics until the body is witnessed by at LEAST 25,000 people and it can still be reversed.
Why would you liking Darkhawk more than Spiderman sound crazy? You don't have to like Spiderman or any other hero or villain for that matter, and you are entitled to your preference(s).

Awesome how much to acquire that ? Need it love using him in marvel snap
DarkHawk happens to be my favorite special super hero,When I read the comic book I'm dreaming becoming the Dark Hawk super hero,Dark Hero is a cool superb Hero😃😃😃😃😃💪I💗it!
Imo, Darkhawk is Marvel’s Guyver
you mean marvel ripped off the guyver
Dark hawk vs Iron man,,, the real armor wars
Ok glad someone else said this before I did lol 🤘
That’s a solid comparison.

I’m waiting for him to join the MCU!!! Still one of my favorite characters
I really like him ! He's one of my favorite underrated Marvel superhero !
Darkhawk and the New Warriors. I can’t wait to see them in live action.
I can dig it!!! I was an avid reader of the Darkhawk comic when it debuted, and I stuck with it for over 25 issues...
Darkhawk and New Warriors was my childhood X-Force as well
@@808sirenz9
Yeah, me too. I spent every dollar I could earn on Comics, in those days...
Until it unceremoniously ended.... 😭
If you're interested, I have the action figure MINT ON CARD. Crazy weapons and accessories. Had it for years sealed in a storage container.
@@dethbolt000
I dig it, but I'm not able to afford any collectibles right now. I'm in the midst of some home renovations...
A great flesh out of a unique 90's character. I know you've done Ghost Rider before, but could you do one with the Danny Ketch version?
When he was frist introduced he was a cross of Spider-Man and Wolverine.
Finally someone does a video on darkhawk

Now this is a character I want to see in the MCU.
He looks like if a power ranger from the 80s was in shattered grid

Salute Fam!! Nice and through profile of Dark Hawk!!
When marvel made trading cards, dark hawk was the first card i got. I still have it.
I want a Nova and Darkhawk buddy cop intergalactic movie like yesterday.
Yas. Still have the first issue in the spiderman magazine.
Do one on Shadowhawk
The MCU needs to do something with him, they have took alot of B rated characters an made dem A class contenders.
do another 90's character Marvel made called Nightwatch, also DH is not bad thou ##50 is getting up there, short-print and plus not many people buying his comics.
enjoyed his comics for a good while I agree he is a underrated character. be a good one to put into the Marvel universe hoping they do it right ..
He's been in my top 10 Marvel heroes since the first issue
Super underestimated Friggin' Awesome character
I have the action figure MINT ON CARD. Dude has a wide assortment of weapons and he's soooo dope!!

Please do more darkhawk content!!
How is it that I’ve been a MARVEL comics fan my whole life and never seen or heard of DARKHAWK
Still waiting for a Darkhawk movie
I liked how Darkhawk was done in the 90’s, and I hate how it was re-written.
I really like Darkhawk
I still have my original #2nd issue love this guy when I was a kid still do I’m happy we got a marvel legends figure of this guy but hope they do a issue with a little more detail and mold
I remember the Heart of the Hawk storyline
@7:45, I bought this series as it came out, only now do I realize Darkhawk KILLED a civilian for 'practice' !
@10:13 "Too late."
Give me a suit ill portray DARKHAWK real well!!
Bought that first issue.
He seem to be well based on SilverKawks and sort of like Guyver, and also seem like Blue beetle.
Seems like those writers at marvel read the Guyver manga in the 1980s and decided to rip it off, the amulet is the guyver unit, he even gets ripped out like the guyver, it comes from an alien race like the guyver unit, found by a teenager like the guyver unit
All hail Darkhawk

I’d lose my shit if they added darkhawk to the mcu
This is awesome
I used to collect Darkhawk comics from the beginning up until about Issue 26, and then I think I started dating.
I used that name for years lol on my all my social media lol 😂
YES
🔥🔥🔥

He could Semi fill in Spiderman ,Thor and team Revengers, Halkeye girl, yeah we need new heros.....🤨🤣
I agree with that but who would be the Character.
Who all knew about this guy be honest how long did you know that he existed

Almost like Rom space Knight.
He’s Marvel’s Blue Beetle, not Batman.
Why did i think darkhawk was an angel alter ego
Do a Squirrel Girl video
How Can Chris-DarkHawk Become Hurt Or Injured If he's not in the suit 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
1:03 to be continued tomorrow
👍
Batman he's more like blue beetle
But does he have prep time tho?
Definitely not a Batman character. Definitely closer to a low level cosmic Spiderman
Say his name fast
Hes just a marvel silverhawk
How many batmans does marvel have, i thought moon knight was marvels batman?
"marvel's batman" ?? seriously? couldn't be more far off on that one.
Uhhhh .. wasnt Moon Knight, Marvel's Batman? See, this is what I'm talking about. They cant create new characters!
Neither are Marvel's version of Batman. There really isn't one.
marvels batman? Hes nothing like batman other then color scheme
If anything he's magical Iron Man if you think about it
How is he marvels Batman
