I tutored this young lady in her high school calculus class more than 20 years ago. To this day, she is still my favorite student I've ever had. She's got an absolute caring, tender heart. It was my honor to know her.
Absolutely agree. Way too much of Chris talking about himself and not enough of sister. I also got almost no tips about what to do in silence. I've tried to do it before and just found myself thinking about everything but God. Would have been nice to hear how she went from secular to spending time in silence and that beauty that she spoke about that she found.
@@MariaSilva-yd5nz with love, i tell you that she is the teacher in this conversation, but the young man keeps interrupting the teacher. God gave us two ears and one mouth.
I don't mean to be rude but twice she brought up St. Therese, and I was getting so excited to hear what she was going to say and you interrupted her both times. I was afraid after the first interruption that we were not going to get to hear what she had to say about her experience with St. Therese. Please be mindful about letting the person finish what they are saying. Thank you!
I've spent my life working in rough conditions with rough men and lived a rough life. I started driving OTR about 5 years ago and I really believe the solitude has saved me. I've returned to the Traditional Catholic teachings (TLM) and I basically pray all day. My life is developed into a bigger mess than I ever imagined but I have more peace than I have ever experienced. The messes in my life are the fruits of my past and I'm keenly aware of the damage I've caused. The Blessed Virgin Mary has helped me tremendously, and I (we all) must put our troubles in Her loving hands. She will make you clean and lead you to Her Divine Son.
Oh wow. What a testimony. Thank you. Keep on doing what you’re doing! How awesome it will be when you (and every living being) are at the Last Judgement going to see the movie of your life and all the miracles of grace that have come about. Our Lady has held out Her hand and you have followed, led directly to Him who called you, knew you and wanted you before He laid the foundations of the earth. (Eph 1:4) God and His victory be with you always with Our Lady and all the saints and angels to surround you!
This Sister’s message was interrupted so many times by the self-absorbed host. However, I heard enough to make me want to explore St. Terese and Benedictine spirituality more- grateful for this nun.
So sad that the entire interview was interrupted over and over. Sister was barely able to start talking before she was interrupted and then moved onto another subject. Very frustrating. I wanted to hear HER speak and tell us more about her story and life.
I really like Chris Stefanick's shows but I have to agree with you. I really wanted to hear what she had to say so many times but felt Chris kept telling her what she meant! Please have her back and let us see and hear her develop her own thoughts.
I truly do make time for silence. I have a designated prayer space in my home...I'm often there...not bragging, I'm there because I NEED to be there...it's where I renew my spirit, revive my energy & renounce Satan, all through the power of prayer & praying the Rosary ¡Viva Christo Rey! Ave Maria 💙 !
Please let her talk without interruption - beautiful interview but it could have been more profound, deeper … if you would just let her talk and develop, share her ideas …. Funny the title of the interview is “the art of silence”. Thank you 🙏🏼
Chris, please read how many comments there are about your interruptions. We really wanted to hear what she had to say in-depth as you were talking about. It's rare to get to listen to a sister talk. Maybe you could bring her back and let her talk seriously about her life without all the joking interruptions.
I am trying to grasp what the guest is telling but for some reason I am losing my focus and so I read the comments and there I found my answer, haha. Love this channel though. Keep spreading the word of God. God bless!
Thank you for this very relatable video. My mother was a devout Catholic that died in childbirth when i was two years old. I've heard very negative things about the Catholic church throughout my life but their conversation fills me with joy
Praise God for all those who have entered the contemplative life and are praying for us. I would echo comments made earlier and add that Chris was too focused on the points he wanted to make and not letting Sister speak. For a program that was supposed to be about mastering the art of silence, this program had a frenetic pace from start to finish. I think Sister had a lot more wisdom she could have imparted given the chance.
Hi Chris, I really like your show, the content and the people that you bring in. One suggestion if you may please, I think it will be good if you can have an hour long or more for each episode with each people. I feel like it's cut too short when it gets so good. Like today, I wanted to hear more from Sister, but I feel like I only got a spoonful and I am left wanting. Maybe it's good to have one long series, and then it can be cut short for the viewers who prefer 30mins or less.
Chris...wish you would let your guests talk more. If you time your show...you overtalk all of your guests and it really hurts our ability to get THEIR story and message. Please talk less and listen more. God Bless
I would love to see a follow-up video on “pro-tips on prayer from a master,” as I don’t think sister was able to talk about this topic enough. Too many interruptions!
Thank you for this wonderful show. It has been so helpful. And I love your spirit, and your responsiveness to your guests. Because of your enthusiasm, you talk a lot (sometimes even putting words in the guest's mouth); could you give the guests a more open road - without red lights and stop signs - to do their thing? But even if you keep your style, I will continue listening, because your show is so helpful. Thank you!
Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a devotion with the brown scapular. It has the eight hours, but much shorter and easier for the lay person.
The nuns were deliberately showing her how to do things to teach her humility but she is not told that because it would defeat their plan. They all went through it themselves. I remember a young nun that was allowed to come out to the local church fair with myself and a friend. I gave her a little money and she bought a cake for the sisters. She said later that they had all had some cake but there was none left for her. It was deliberate by the nuns to train her. My friend who was with us had been in a convent for 3 years so she knew. We gave the game away. I hope sister went on to taker her final vows after 7 years and that she is happily bearing fruit for the Lord now and probably training new recruits using the same methods.
You did bring up points that most people think of…… that was helpful……..WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ANOTHER INTERVIEW WITH THIS NUN…..PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊
Has anyone ever had the same experience that there’s no way you can refuse a nun anything she asks for? No matter how much you want to? That aside, God bless this sunshine of a sister, her joy is palpable even through the screen!
2:35 especially because most of religious people who are trying to call others into it, are doing a better job of annoying/scaring people away. I'm not religious but I'm constantly putting my effort into silent prayer. I'll subscribe to the channel
I have to agree with the others, this isn't an interview it's a conversation with Chris doing most of the talking. You seem like a great guy and this isn't a personal attack. Nobody is perfect. Perhaps you could take some advice from other comments on here who are saying the same thing?
I suspect Chris was nervous and worried that Sister would be too quiet, so he was overcompensating with humor and the frequent interjections. He should take some lessons from Raymond Arroyo's interviews on his "The World Over" show on EWTN. Raymond is the best interviewer I've ever seen. He asks deep, probing questions that really reveal the mind and heart of his guests, he lets them do most of the talking, and he avoids making the interview about himself. We hardly got to hear any tips from the sweet sister, due to the almost constant interruptions. 😢
I can’t finish watching. It is so upsetting that he only lets her ever get a partial sentence out, and then he interrupts. It’s all about him. I wanted to hear from her. Ironic that it’s about mastering Silence.
Chris needs to do another interview with Sister and let her develop the spiritual nuggets which she only got a chance to touch upon. This interview was like reading a relatively developed table of contents in a book. While there is much intriguing content of the book’s depths present there, it is nevertheless ONLY the Table of Contents. You want to get into the book itself, and you really want to read all the chapters at once, but of course that isn’t possible. Suddenly the hour is up, but this book has to remain in the library-it cannot be checked out. Please let Sister Rachel come back and develop at least some of the areas that the two of you could only touch on today! We look forward to getting past the Table of Contents!

Mr. Chris Stefanick, I was taught by and grew up in the Faith with nuns that were so very approachable, friendly and happy, so that's why it was torture to hear so little from Sister Imaculata's words and have her recollections constantly interrupted, edited, editorialized and eliminated very quickly to jump to something else, again and again and again. The nuns taught me a very Catholic piece of wisdom: "The difference between is a virtue and a vice is that the vice is a virtue taken to the very extreme." Mr. Stefanick, your friendliness virtue did become a smothering, suffocating vice in this video. We expect better from you next time.
Classic case of someone controlled by his ego, Great energy but no self-restraint, talks and interrupts way too much as noted by many others. This isn't about YOU, Chris, it's about the guest and viewers.
I didn't know nuns laugh . . .. lol! Just kidding. What a great interview. Sister Immaculata has a joyful, appealing personality. Which convent does she serve?
I started to get annoyed that the interviewer constantly interrupted the lovely nun. He just wouldn't let her get started. No offence meant just advice- it's obvious that your a nice guy.
To be fair, he is the host and maybe isn’t aware of his interruptions as he may feel anxious about this interview and certainly she may have noticed, so nuns pray for us all! Chris, I really wanted to hear more about Sister’s life. We already know you are smart and gifted with gab, but I don’t think you know the first rule of being a good host……Listen twice as much as you talk. That’s why you have 2 ears and one mouth. You were too annoying for me to continue to watch the whole interview. God love you and may God bless Sister Immaculata.
Chris, you did not allow Sister to speak without interrupting her constantly and bringing most of the attention to yourself. Please stop constantly breaking in when a person is attempting to answer your questions. Aside from that, the Sister must be a very nervous person because she exercised absolutely no control over her continuous laughter. This comes as quite surprise for a contemplative religious.
