      You jumped 85 and 30, on the link you provided 85 is ground and 30 is fused power? Did you mean to say 30 and 86? Thanks

      This isn't the normal way you would hook up a relay. This is just for the Polaris that has constant power going to the wires and then grounds them to activate things.

    Thanks! I saw another video that basically showed the relay, so this is helpful to see the final install and the relay. Good work.

    Thanks, worked like a charm for putting reverse lights on my 2013 Ranger 900 XP. Wish I would've gotten a waterproof relay, but I'll do my best to heat shrink to protect from elements.

    Just watched your video on the backup lights, AND your backup cam install. Could you also connect your backup camera to activate in reverse using the same relay?

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  5 лет назад

      You can. Sometimes when you hook up LED lights with the same power wire as a backup cam it can cause interferance. You don't get a clear picture. That might not happen if you are using small LED lights. That has happened on my truck but I am using two 18w LED backup lights.

    Mossman, thry using the "HELLA H84989011 5 Terminal Mini Relay Socket - Bracket" when using relays. I like them because they give you a better ability to waterproof and it's easier to replace a blown relay.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад

      I will have to look into that. I know this one isn't sealed all that great but this doesn't see much road time so corrosion isn't that bad on this machine.

    • @rockymtnredneck4888
      @rockymtnredneck4888 7 лет назад

      The sockets I've used aren't waterproof, but they can be sealed with silicone on the back side and dielectric grease at the connection. You can get the sealed ones, too though. I just liked the stackable nature of these brackets. I showed them in my Suburban overview video.

      Thanks, it's not that much wider with the tracks. I don't know exact measurements.

    i had a weird problem with my 20 inch cheap ebay led light bar on my truck. one night while i was inside my house my buddy/neighbor messaged me and said i left my light bar on and that it was really dim then messaged me back that it started flickering on an off, i went out sure enough it was doing that .with out it having the key switch turned on and the toggle switch /relay harness it came with was off. it still puzzles me what the hell was going on with it that day

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад

      It had to of been getting power. I would say moisture in the switch or relay would be my guess.

    Mossmann381! Will this set up work on an 05 Ranger XP? My wires for the reverse are a different color. I’ve got 2 purple and 2 red with white stripe that each run into a crimped single connector.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  5 лет назад

      You can test to see if it has constant power. I think the 05 Rangers are the same as this 16. This should work with any setup that uses a constant power and then a ground to turn something on.

    Hooked everything up the way you have it and the relay buzzes and the lights flicker.

      A 4 prong relay is all you need. Should be able to find one at your local auto parts store. My part # will do you no good. I have no idea how old mine is. I found it in the drawer.

    electrical gremlins gotta love em

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  7 лет назад

      Not really a gremlin. Polaris sends constant power to most of the electrical parts and then grounds them to make them work. It's kind of odd but I think it's getting more common.

    • @MrGiovannix12
      @MrGiovannix12 7 лет назад

      yeah it is getting more common these days

    • @spaguru
      @spaguru 4 года назад

      Polaris does not send constant power to electrical parts then ground them to make them operate. That would be a direct short to ground if they did. They utilize an isolated ground.
      Now, try and install a lighted switch on the light circuit!
