@@jackdaone6469I think what’s actually gonna happen is that Kuai Liang is going to be killed by Bi Han and he’s gonna become Noob Saibot while Hanzo becomes Scorpion again, seeking vengeance instead for his predecessor and honoring him as he carries on his legacy. I feel that would be the direction the creators would go since if Bi Han became Noob Saibot again that would leave us without a Sub Zero and Kuai Liang being Noob Saibot would lead to very interesting opportunities for storytelling
The Kitana bio was so beautiful 😢💕 I always believed that she hated being forced to lead. The fact that Liu Kang had to give up on being her one true love in order to give her a happy life is bittersweet.
Liu Kang had good heart for trying to help all the heroes and depowering as much as possible the villains. This may yet be the better timeline for the Netherrealm MK games.
As much as thus understandable, Couldnt have liu kang given the villans good lives so that it would be harder for them to end up as themselves from prior timelines?

Still holding out on the theory that the changes to Sareena are a set up for her to be the one to redeem Bi-Han. A inverse of the classic idea.
Then again Geras says in a intro Bi-Han’s destiny has been fundamentally damage by the actions of Shang Tsung and by extension Titan Shang so maybe hearing what the long term plans for certain characters were prior to Titan Shang’s meddling would be insightful.
I think both are true, due to Shang Tsung’s machinations, NOW it be the case that Sareena will redeem Bi-Han as it was never in Liu Kang’s original plan to have her do that but instead someone else like Kuai Liang or something.
Basically, Shang Tsung is The4thSnake in Disguise.
Bro if sareena doesn’t redeem bi Han it’ll be one of the biggest missed opportunities ever we finally have a chance for them to be happy together and an amazing reversal of the original timeline
To be honest, it seems from a few intros that Bi-Han wasn't always like this. What Bi-Han needs in this timeline is an actually interesting explanation for his motives. If it was me, I would write his betrayal of Earthrealm to be a culmination of the failures that happen in the story making Bi-Han lose faith in Liu Kang & his father's teachings.
What if Bi Han has an epiphany and sees the error in his ways. He sees some potential for good in Sereena and brings about redemption for _both_ of them?
On a completely unrelated note, why does Scorpion always get the mind-blowing powers? Dude straight up melted steel weapons before they even scratched his face, and he didn't even flinch. Meanwhile Subzero can barely chill your drink. Okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but not too far off. Is it because he's Ed Boon's favorite?
@@Zaire_39 It's been hinted at that Bi-Han resents the fact that despite their roles as Protectors of Earthrealm for generations they barely have anything in return to show for it.
Add in the fact that on top of not getting what he believes the Lin Kuei deserves (and to be clear he wants to be given it by force rather than him needing to ask for it), the Lin Kuei are also almost completely unknown by Earthrealm by large.
A sentiment which Shao Kahn echoes as Earthrealm is deliberately it seems kept in the dark about the higher events at play like the fact there are other Realms and otherworldly creatures (which is really stupid and boring), hopefully they go fully in on Johnny Cage's Ending and he really is the bridge that connects Earthrealm directly with the other Realms.
Imagine that? Humans finding an alliance to live peacefully with Shokan, Naknadans and so on? Perhaps even Tarkatans if it's revealed that Earthrealm Humans are immune to Tarkat? There's so much potential there.

I like the idea of souls being timeless and defining characters, thereby explaining why characters exist even when the random chance of genetics should make their presence nigh impossible. That said, Kronika herself being stated to be impossible to return doesn't jive with that, and if these souls are singular then they wouldn't be split by the timeline, but if they aren't then it brings up to question of whether or not souls can be duplicated without the separation of timelines. Such a thing would have potential applications for both good and evil.
My thought is that mortals exist as part of the one being and thus cannot be erased as that would be erasing some of the essence of the universe, Kronika and the Elder gods however can be erased as they exist outside of the one being.
I think you could bypass the issue by saying (original, natural) titans don't have souls.
@@VekktorYT Kronika being dead is just them desperately trying to write her off now that they've stole her reset button Cause its a plot point you can't kill a God 'Raiden literally blew himself the fuck up,' Reiko's original concept was Shao reborn as a human cause he died in Earthrealm. That and they don't even commit since one of the Geras interactions has Kronika as the winner of the Hourglass.

no i think it does make sense. raiden in mk11 disappeared when his past self was brought back. so I think its the same with titan's. fire god lui kang is the keeper of time in his timeline so kronika can't exist because of there already is a keeper of time. and even if she does exist it would be as mortal that fire god lui kang can just influence.
Certainly wish this type of Bios were in the game instead of the ones from the official site. This does a great job at examining character previous's story as well as introduce the changes, and the best part... It doesn't spoils much of what happens in the story
They could have included both. Have basic in-timeline bios that are available at the start of the game, and have Liu Kang's thoughts unlocked after some kind of relevant milestone; maybe completing Arcade Mode with the character or meeting them in Story Mode.
That was pretty cool.
Lui Kang is also the one who believes in choices. Some people unfortunately make bad ones and not even Lui Kang can always stop it.

Your love for this franchise is unparrelled. Saying this as someone who's favorite game is Deadly Alliance (Deception is objectively better but DA was the first MK game I bought).
I understand this is supposed to be from Liu Kang's perspective, but Shang Tsung being "the greatest threat" damages me emotionally in so many ways.

He was on Earth Realm I believe but Damashi took him to Outworld where he was able to developed his magic.

You did an amazing job with these bios. They helped push the story a bit more that I wanted from the base game, cleaned up some of the messy writing with Liu Kang thought processes and hinted that Shang Tsung may have affected things more than we know. Keep up the good work.

the one bio i think could be changed a bit is smoke's if nothing else to acknowledge one of the intros he has with Liu Kang where its very heavily implied Liu Kang intended for him to be orphaned in order for him to join the lin kuei, yknow the one that goes
Smoke: "Did you intend for me to be orphaned?!"
Liu Kang: "Some threads must be cut to weave time's fabric..."
As cool as Shaolin Raiden was, I feel like Shaolin Shang Tsung would have been far more interesting.
What better way to keep Shang Tsung out of trouble than with the discipline of the Shaolin?
Plus he could have the genuine potential of being a good guy this time around.
My one gripe is the whole “souls must exist” thing with Shang, when Liu pretty explicitly states he brought him back out of mercy
These remind of the old Armageddon Bios and I absolutely love it.

I'm not sure if M1K did this already, but it is an interesting idea for the question of whether Liu Kang is in the right to change the villains to such a degree and what the knowledge of it could revert the ones that are on the good side back. Like if Shao is informed of his past lives, would he try to gain power or stay on this more dutible path.
I wish they had done this to explain the thought process of Liu Kang. Thank you for doing this, Snake. :)
Theres a contradiction with smokes bio.
The bio says that liu kang didn't forsee his family being killed. But in one of smoke and liu kangs dialogue before the fight, Smoke question liu kang about his decison about having his family killed to which he replied that he purposely had his family killed to "weave time's fabric."
Those bios are really good! Love that there are some for the kameos too

I wish the narrative wasn't so insistent on Liu Kang being flawless because there was a great story buried here about how he was unconsciously spiteful enough to not care that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi's new lives sucked, how he was blinded by arrogant imperialism in putting separate people under his preferred ruler's banner, and how it wasn't a great idea to eliminate TWO different entire species of sapient individuals by rolling them into another demographic. Also, as funny as Kenshi's is, it absolutely should have been followed up in some way in the game beyond a quick joke, because him being blinded again is so improbable that there has to be big cosmic implications that Liu Kang evidentlly does not give a fuck about. I mean, for God's sake, Kuai Liang got the EXACT SAME SCAR!
The only indication that their lives sucked was them, the egotistical sorcerers who think they're too good for peasant work, complaining that their lives sucked. Shang chose to be a conman instead of doing honest work and then suffered the consequences. Quan Chi cried that he had to do manual labor.
i think some of the intro refer that the interference of titan shang has altered the timeline so much from what liu kang originally made

i think the idea of souls being timeless and requiring a place in the timeline is interesting, but the infinite timeline thing kind-of ruins it since the souls will almost guarantee that a certain person will act a certain way because it's their nature, and yet the infinite timelines show characters that are acting way out-of-line relative to what their nature is. like that cutthroat sonya in the pyramid scene.

Great video Snake! Although I wanted to ask if it was possible to share with you an idea I had for MK1 Dairou/Havik, Darrius and Hotaru.
It was an idea that would lend itself well in making Seido a perpetual cycle of misery.
For scorpion , it was exactly what I thought. Kuai Liang was always more calm and level-headed than Hanzo by a mile and that's why liu liu changed the guy representing scorpion. That's my headcanon anyway. Great video and would absolutely love to see more

Hanzo just wanted revenge essentially. Probably wouldn't be that level headed if your family and clan was murdered. Liu could have changed that. He changed Hanzo's age after all. He even somehow got rid of Shinnok even though he said everyone must exist in some form like Shang and Quan Chi
There are heroic versions of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. In timelines Liu Kang has no control over, either.

I assume/hope there will be more bios for the DLCs and such.
Side note: A fun headcanon I like to think of lately is that the Shang Tsung present in the Order of Light in the game's finale (not the playable one but the one that helps you reach the top only to get destroyed by Titan Shang) is probably from a world where Shang became champion of the realms much like Raiden currently is and how Liu Kang previously was.
As a mk fan the game really needed this Ty for making this

So I guess this means Johnny's not ready to be meeting Sonya just yet, as both he and her need to work things out & develop themselves more before meeting if they're gonna be a true match and later bring out Cassie after them.
Honestly if we get a dlc similar to mk11 aftermath, I’d like to see characters like sonya, Kano & jax or even some more 3D era characters or any nrs era characters like erron black not having his immortality.

Honestly, I think Mortal Kombat has some events that will always happend no matter what, so if Shang Tsung is erased, someone will appear and take his role, dont forgget even Liu Kang got surprised when he saw that Kenshi is blind, why Bi Han and Kuai Liang are scorpion and sub zero? I think it was a way to fiddle with the fate so Bi Han wont become Noob Saibot
