We have been selling Fort Lauderdale real estate for 8 years and Miami Real Estate for over 12 years. We often find ourselves in dialogue with buyers over where they should settle: “Which is going to be best for me?” We weigh up the pro’s and con’s, and sometimes Fort Lauderdale comes out on top and sometimes it’s Miami. With relocations being a huge driving factor of our business through 2019 and now more than ever in 2020 we felt that the Fort Lauderdale report deserved a section where we are comparing Fort Lauderdale Real Estate to Miami Real Estate. We cover schools, traffic and transportation, the single-family homes market, the waterfront market and the luxury condo market. How have these markets both behaved in the last 6 months?

Any discussion of real estate should start out and emphasize the problem of rising seas and how each place will be affected. I want so much to NOT believe that flooding will increase because I want to buy a place in Miami Beach. Even many realtors are honest enough to admit there is a huge problem. The cities themselves admit it. Honesty over greed please.
I prefer the quality of life in Fort Lauderdale. You have almost the same or more without the daily madness in Miami. Additionally, you can now access the South or North in a new comfortable 30 minutes train ride. Ft Lauderdale has more room to grow in my opinion.

Great video! It got served up to me as a ad and I watched the whole thing! Something that was not talked about in this video is the growth of Fort Lauderdale international airport and how close that is to the most desired neighborhoods of Fort Lauderdale! The Miami International airport is a pain to fly in and out of and commuting to and from. Fort Lauderdale for the WIN!!!
I am really looking forward to buying a forever home in Miami after I retire from the military. Should I be concerned with the receding coast line or are enough measures being taken to combat the sea level rise?

It all depends on the neighborhood because even with in Miami and Fort Lauderdale there are different kinds of areas that you may be interested in.
