I don't see why you felt the need to drag other acapella groups into this only to dismiss their talents, but I do agree that Pentatonix sounded very good on this mashup and it's a great arrangement!
This was the first video to feature Matt as a full-time member (he had previously appeared in the Christmas video Deck The Halls, even though he was still a "special guest" at that point). They shot this in New York when Kirstie was starring on Broadway in Kinky Boots. I've heard a rumor that this was the apartment that the producers of the play provided for her when she was doing the show. If that's true, I probably would have signed a long-term deal to stay in that show! That's one hell of a view! Kevin was actually the one who came up with this mashup. He was planning on doing it as a KOver, but apparently Scott talked him into giving it to the group.
Fun fact: Kirstie's co-lead when she was in KB was the winner of another popular singing show: David Cook, who won Season 7 of American Idol. I would love to see you react to some of David's videos someday too. But with Christmas coming up you've still got a LOT of PTX to go!
This is definitely in my top 5 favorite PTX videos. Everything about it was fire!! And honestly this was the 1 that made me fall in love with Matt the back and forth with him and Kevin was so epic.
