      @@ArttuTheCat Interesting.. Rising Sun never showed up on my radar and for a moment even mistakenly thought it was about Rise of the Dragon.
      The list of great games is too large to list, but loved almost every minute of it.

      @@ArttuTheCat - I almost played Lords of the Rising Sun for the Medieval Banquet Introduction video, and had it on my list, but like Canton and so many other games, I felt it was set in the right time period but not Medieval enough to include them. I think including Chinese/Japanese games would have been a bit too much to cover for the intro video.
      I reviewed Rise of the Dragon quite a while ago, and last year I included Rise of the Triad in the RTG specials. Hopefully, no plans to cover Rise of the Robots.

    The graphics in this game blew my tiny mind when this was first released. There’s a good segment talking about how this game was made in the movie From Bedrooms To Billions: The Amiga Story.

      Yes, The Amiga Years is an excellent documentary, and I helped them by recording at least half of the games footage for it. The team recently ran a kickstarter for a sequel entitled The A500 Story, so I hope you are a backer and ready for the next instalment. :)

    Feels like your campaign army got parked into the last castle you took over.

    • @LemonTubeAmiga

      I dont know what happened there. My army just disappeared. I was thinking I must have got killed in the assault.

    • @JasonRainforest
      @JasonRainforest 2 года назад

      Yeah I think there's a bug in the game, but never have your campaign army at your castle if it's going to get attacked. The bug can work in your favour too: If someone attacks your home castle while your campaign army is in another territory, somehow the home army becomes the size of the campaign army, and you get to literally double your army size. Without watching the whole video, but seeing how big that enemy's campaign army is in the end, I'd say someone attacked that enemy's home castle while their army was out, and they got real big real fast.

    Always bugged me, Geoffrey Longsword image definitely looks like a 1970's American actor. Just can't think of which one

    • @LemonTubeAmiga
      @LemonTubeAmiga  2 года назад

      That's a difficult one. They probably took the images from some kind of popular book or movie. It reminds me of Richard Widmark mixed with Warren Beatty.

  • @justsurfin5013
    @justsurfin5013 Год назад

    I FINALLY figured out where the image of Geoffrey Longsword comes from. This is Warren Beatty from the 70's. Simply look at his IMDB page and you will instantly see the resemblance.

      @@LemonTubeAmiga Yeah, been off/on obsessing over it for years. Just accidentally got a RUclips recommendation for an old movie and it hit like lightning :). But image wise, face is definitely his and the hair may have been simply cropped (although it does resemble his basic hair style)

  • @JasonRainforest
    @JasonRainforest 2 года назад

    You started at the perfect castle. From there, build your campaign army by 1 soldier, send him into the territory to the southeast, then take the two to your west (with 1 soldier each time). You'll bring all of the civilians in those territories into your army, and also get the income. From there you'll have a much bigger army to go taking the other territories.

    Why you never asked Robin for help ? He provides you with soldiers and knights. You can do this twice per playthrough....also, the saxon kings will never lay siege to your castle, so you are save from them, so go for the normans first...

    • @LemonTubeAmiga
      @LemonTubeAmiga  Год назад

      Thanks for commenting. I was going to ask Robin but the location on the map was quickly taken over by the enemy so I didn't get much chance. I didn't know the home castle was safe. This isn't the case with any other game of this type, so had me fooled.

    I destroyed so many mice buttons by slamming it has hard and as fast as I could during raids, that my father finally banned me form playing on it his A1000.

    • @LemonTubeAmiga

      Thats a good story. Of course pressing hard does not mean much in this game. Pressing fast and backing away seems to work on the steps, but perhaps best to turn the mouse on its side, and press the button ultra quick, like trembling rather than hammering. But I think with this game, it doesn't register another click until the sword hits, so perhaps this speed is not necessary after all.
