Thank you so much for your support in watching this video - even though sewing tutorials might not be your thing! I have now added Chapters to help any watching and following along, and to make sure you don't miss the ending! Watch from 13:54 to see what the girls think of their new beds and Callie's super slow mo popcorning! Hope you enjoy! 😍😄 Etsy pattern link: etsy.me/3JqDFrg Much love from Sarah, Phoebe, Roxy and Callie! xxxx
@@Kelari313 Thank you Chris, been a bit hectic here, but should be new video at the weekend and a vlog at some point to catch up on all the goings on! 😀
My wife has a Janome Sewing Machine ! And we named one of our Guinea Pigs Janome, another one was called Singer ! Looks a great video - will get my wife to take a look.
Please make more sewing pattern videos. I am learning to sew and love to creat stuff for my piggies but I can't seem to create my own patterns and them come out well. I love your channel and your piggies. You have helped me so much with my guinea pigs and how to care for them! -Me and my piggies!! (Twinkie and Skittles)
I made two today for my piggies, they turned out great, thank you so much. I didn’t have boning I used encased pipe cleaners about 10 of them. Worked great 👍
I wish I could leave pictures here as I have made 2 already!! Plus I found guinea fairy fabric that is SO adorable!!! Love her patterns!! I've actually made all her patterns so far and I couldn't be happier with the thorough tutorials and instructions!!
Thank you for all of your videos! You have helped simplify and demystify having pet Guinea Pigs. I thought I was prepared, oh, I was wrong. I have worked in the vet field for a long time. I know how to recognize, care for illnesses/injuries to GPs, and provide a proper diet, provide supportive care and the benefit of working for a vet who can help if something goes wrong. (Thank you for talking about vet care needs ❤ and not shying away from the hard stuff) I didn’t even realize how much everyday care there was. Your tips and tricks for GP care have really helped me and my daughters enjoy their care and them feeling more comfortable with us! I enjoy working in my GPs care now and in return they are bonding with my daughters (who we got them for 😅) and me 🥹 Also, I have totally made reusable liners from watching your videos! I love them for under drippy water bottles!!!
I'm excited to try this! I am fairly novice with sewing. I made my own pee pads and some of them were terrible! Haha I didn't follow a pattern I just did it myself with scrap fleece and scrap Terry cloth.
Callie pop corning is just too cute she seems to have really settled in also she's so big now but still probably not nearly as chonky as Roxy that girl is so chunky and so cute I love when you get face close footage because Roxy's face is absolutely precious she's always seem curious and confused like why is there a camera In my face and not food hooman love you and your piggies 😊have a good day!
I did one of these today! My piggie seems to really like it so far. It isn't nearly as neatly sewn as yours but it does what it needs to do perfectly well still. Maybe I'll try making more in the future and see if I can get them look little prettier.
Wow!!! That is so smart!! Great job! I have lots of fleece from making liners and now I have something to do with it. Thank you so much for the clear ready to follow directions. I always enjoy your videos!
Thank you for this video Sarah, it's going to be very helpful! I tend to not be patient enough for sewing, but I do have a sewing machine so Im going to give it a try! 😁👍
Yay!🎉🎉 Like I said on Instagram, I got a new kitten (named Milo) and I will be ordering 1! Im not the best at DIY stuff, but I will give it a go! 😂 I guess my mom can help. Need to quickly go buy before its sold out! Hope you have a great weekend! ~Beatrise
Thank you Beatrice, and they won't sell out they are digital downloads so you just get to download the pattern and start looking at the instructions or using it right away! 😊 Milo is a lovely name btw 💖
Thanks so much for doing this video.❤ I love doing your diys especially because I can't find as many snuggly items in Australia and my mum doesn't always want to pay for any of them.
So clean looking! Not so,ething ide be able to do very good and clean looking but I definitely prefer the one entrance bc it’s more closed for your piggies
Another brilliant pattern and tutorial! ( FYI the hidey hut I made following your pattern is my 7 year old sow's favourite thing in the whole world, you have helped make her retirement extremely comfy). Will there be a tutorial/pattern for the slipper snugs in the future? Every time I see them in your vids I fall a little bit more in love with them but my pattern drafting skills are too weak to try and retroactively figure them out. I would much rather learn from the master! ❤
So I have all your patterns on etsy so far 😂 I'm a crazy guinea pig lady. I am desperate to get my hands on you hooded hide and slipper hide patterns 😅. Also, what sewing machine do you use? I have a cheap argos one. It struggles to do thicker items 😢. Being on the Isle of Wight, I have nowhere to get it serviced, so I am looking for a new machin.
Can u try and do another collab with kavee like you did about a year ago where u made a 4x2 because I am watching it over and over again as I love that type of vid so much if u can it would be much appreciated. Great content loving the how to make... Sort of "series"
hi and congratulations for your channel! Can I ask you for some advice regarding the bottom of the house? I was thinking about purchasing those matts hich have a cotton side and a polystirene one, buy a few of them and just change them/wash them when needed. I see you are using somehing different, is that a fleece carpet of some kind? Thanks!
Hello! I'm planning on getting guinea pigs in the near future and have been researching like crazy when I came across your channel! I love your academics on guinea pigs and I could watch and take notes for hours! Though I was wondering what cage you use or where you got it because I love the set up. If you can get back to me that would help so much.
We're diligently preparing our cage for my son to get two piggies for his 9th birthday. As a sewists I was so excited to see I can make them cute things!! One question for you - I have lots of leftover (cute) flannel from pajama sewing, would that work as the outer layer instead of quilting cotton? Or could that make it too hot for them?
aww look at those pops from Callie 😍, very cute! My 2 chunky boars seem to pee a lot on every bed or hidey pad i put in - have you used cotton wadding ever? i've used zorb for cage liners and some pads but i've not been overly impressed really with the absorbency (especially considering the cost)...
May I ask another question, I am planning on getting four pre bonded rescue boars and I'm going to get a kavee 6x2 c&c cage with a loft if that is too small can u tell me what c&c size I should use
Hi I absolutely love your videos and learnt so much from them, I’m getting 2 Guinea pigs in 2 weeks and I am building the same cage that you have. I am only worried that my pigs will find out how to escape. Is that behavior to usually expect from Guinea pigs or is there anything to do for preventing them from escaping? thank you so much for all the help from your videos and I’m probably going to watch every last one of them. Thank you!
do u have any hay recommendations other than timothy hay? i live in australia and timothy hay is extremely expensive and ive been trying to save up my own money to buy some but my parents would not allow me to spend $20 aud for 450 grams of hay
Hi Sarah, my sewing machine keeps jamming when I try to sew through the 4 layers (wadding, fleece, fleece, wadding) - do you have any tips? I have a Janome machine. I will keep searching online for help with this too. Thanks, Zoe x
Hi sorry for the slow reply - if jamming and the thread knotting up, trying manually putting the needle down and pulling the threads a bit from the back before you start sewing, and push the layers through a bit to help it along, use a larger stitch width as well if it struggles with the thickness. Another problem could be a blunt needle or unequal thread tension.
I know you asked her and not me but I hope I can be helpful if they drew blood they can not be put back together but if they are just fighting over dominance there is still hope I've heard as a last hope/chance is if you bathe both guinea pigs that could help putting them back to together but I've never done that so I don't know how good it works also are they fighting over toys and food because if so maybe they need two of most things and maybe if you make their cage bigger it could help sometimes that's all it is piggies just want more space also from my experience when was still learning guinea pig care I had my single aggressive piggy go from an amazon midwest to a 4 by 3 c and c cage and omg the zoomies and popcorns just by getting a larger cage was so amazing it made her much happier
Thank you! It's tough when they fight, but if it's bad and they are injuring each other they do need to be separated or a divider used in the cage. Depending on the circumstances you can try reintroducing, or you may have to add another friend for the lonely one or find a new home for him. I talked a bit about introducing pigs on my recent Q&A and also I have a video titled when guinea pigs fights which might help 😊
That would probably be ok. As long as they don't chew on it too much! The hamster I had wasn't a big chewer so I used fabric houses for her, my mice on the other hand almost ate the whole house!😅😂
