if you know the shi the protag went though, then you'd support him regardless of the actions he took, so long as the people he's harming were those involved in what happened to him. which... they just about always are. tbh, fully knowing what this guy is capable of, i'd trust him enough to sleep in the same dorm room as him. he doesn't go after people who haven't gone after him; his revenge is very clearly limited to the people responsible for his torment.

They did explain how he traveled back in time and kept his memories, did they not? You even say that he took the demon lord's power and used it to travel back in time. So, that's how that happened. Pretty sure more was said about it in the show as well. Did you lose the plot? Flare was an absolutely terrible person, and you even mention and show the terrible things that not only she did, but her colleagues did to him as well. The defense for his actions is literally that they tortured, R worded him, drugged him, and used him for his powers and nothing else. It wasn't just some power fantasy show, it was literally a revenge plot, like you said. But then you go about saying that people were supposed to feel sorry for Flare? Excuse me? Norn wasn't supposed to be worse than the protagonist, she was supposed to be worse than her sister. Yeah, the severe torture the main character went through... you reduced to... "they were mean to him"............... just.... just that. Wow...
After further review, this video creator is insane and manipulative. He actively went out of the way to leave out important details as to why the MC was doing these terrible things to these characters. He wanted to make it seem like the MC is the actual villain, and these other characters were just friendly people that were maybe mean to him once. No, these characters are messed up. For example: Blade. At 13:10, he just said that she was "poking a lot of the women in this village because that's what commanders do, I guess", but it was WAY more than that. She was actively Bill Cosbying and R wording these girls. This is how the MC caught onto her plan and made his own plan to get captured by her in order to get her alone and turn the whole thing around. Let's not forget to mention that she was one of those companions from the past. She beat him every single day they were adventuring together, and even R worded him then as well. The big burly dude that traveled with them? He R worded him as well. Flare? When they weren't adventuring she kept him chained up in the dungeon and kept him drugged up. All the while inviting people down to have their way with him at any time they please. She also had her way with him. And all of them basically beat the shit out of him whenever they pleased as well. Convenient to leave all of that out and make them seem more like victims in this whole thing. But that also coming from this video creator, who apparently, unironically, uses the "think about the children" defense as to why he doesn't like this show being viewed online. "none of this stuff belongs in an anime". Who do you think you are? The arbiter of anime? Can H anime not have plot bro?
@@WhimsicalFancyMan Well, why not this anime? Whether or not I like it, I feel that art, no matter how grotesque, should be allowed to be shown. Perhaps regulated to certain places, sure, but shown regardless. As for the content of the show, it's ecchi and violence. Both things that we have plenty of in other shows and media, perhaps even worse in those other cases. The show itself is not as bad as this video states, which brings up the topic as to why I'm truly here: the video creator straight up lies about the show. That is what really pushed me to do this. If this were just an opinion piece, then that's well and good. But straight up lying to others is completely disingenuous. I'm not just going to remain silent when lies are being told and I (and others) know the truth.
Yeah sure, but the entire show is disgusting. I enjoy the battle scenes and shi but like everything else is outrageous. They all did horrible things, it doesn't matter if they were doing it for revenge or not, it's just disturbing..
@@WilliamWizer Yeah IMO most of them met their ends way too quickly for the cruelty they inflicted not only on Keyaru but on the entire world they ruled over
Well granted his victims weren't exactly paragons of virtue and is probably worse than the protagonist. In a world as brutal as this, his actions though reprehensible is just returning the favour.
Yeah, it's not a story about a hero seeking to make things rights; he became a villain himself and goes against other villains, that's all there is. Of course it's gonna be edgy and whatnot, we're not following a hero, even the others only have this title in name considering their behavior. If they happen to save the world it's more to feed their powertrip than anything at this point. It's often alluded to in questionable VNs but for once shown, how much of a disturbing mess it would be to have bad people somehow inherit the "brave" role in such a setting. Still, that guy SUCKS at being a healer! His definition of healing is so twisted it circle back to reverse-heal (aka damaging things) which is disturbing on its own but for all the BS he make happen he let so many die (sometimes even on purpose) it's even worst than if it was just incompetence. But again it's the story of someone who lost his way so it isn't that surprizing I guess...
Aoi Bungaku is a collection of some of the worst stories possible. One is about a dude who was schmeolested by servants as a kid forming a self-yeeting pact with some chick and surviving. Another story about a person assumedly being paid for being a writer, though in reality it was about him being paid for his wife sleeping with the editor-in-chief or sth. Midori Shoujo Tsubaki is probably the darkest anime you can easily find. I recall it had to be self-animated because the studios refused to do it. It is a collection of loosely related scenes. One of them involves a girl getting greapped by an amputated dude... and she just takes it.
5:10 Yep, after years of being abused and raped by both women and men alike while being forced to use his healing power, which make him relive the target's pain, this is where things reaaaaally cross the line.
im just saying people wouldn't find it nearly as disgusting if it was a woman taking revenge on a bunch of men if you swap the genders and its becomes less disgusting you got a problem worse than the fans of the show
I don't think it's because he's a man. It's because some people don't see him as attractive. Most anime fans don't care about how horrible a character is because they are attractive so it's not really a gender thing. Syakesan from Wadanohara rapes the MC but lots of people including myself still love him because he'a pretty hot and he's a good villain. Believe it or not, but this anime is quite popular with straight women in Japan. I'm not straight, but I can see why a lot of female readers would like Keyaru. He's pretty handsome and he has this "psychotic bad boy" appeal to him.

To be honest: Compared to other weird anime out there, Redo of Healer was quite harmless. At least you could understand what's going on and why he does it. But when you watch/read truly disturbing pieces of media like "The Island Of Giant Insects" or "Euphoria"... honestly, Redo of healer was nothing. I'd watch Redo of healer any day before I watch one of this ridiculously disgusting "anime" or whatever you might call it...
From my memory of reading some, I quit after a little while, his healing ability reverts things to their original or at least an earlier state. In order to do this for a human the process involves him reading their memories so that he can recreate their missing arm, etc... the way it was intended to be. Doing that requires a lot of information on how it looked, felt, operated etc... and as such he has to know how it functioned prior to the loss, thus memory reading with skill absorption and feeling the pain they did as a side effect. Healing the world was similar, he turned it back to a previous state. How he survived that info dump into his brain of all the world for the past several years is beyond me. His "juice" is in demand because of the healing powers he has imbued in him and the status he gains makes leveling easier, my memory here is hazy as it was a long time ago and a disgusting/disturbing part of the story (in my defense I thought it would get better), so anyone who takes in parts of his body (like fluids) will find it easier to grow stronger. As such he is sexually abused in order for the soldiers to get stronger as they are sacrificing one person to create a coterie of soldiers who are stronger than others. Due to the physical and sexual abuse, the drug addiction to deaden his pain from healing (he felt the other persons pain when they were injured and it was excruciating) etc... He is not just angry but bloody insane as well.
One of the reasons people like keyaru is because when compared to everybody else of importance, they are WORSE than keyaru. So watching keyaru get revenge on them is very satisfying. Keyaru is liked because he is "evil" due to revenge while everybody else is naturally evil. The reason people want season 2 is to show the non-readers that keyaru is actually nice when compared to everybody else. The readers of redo of healer wanted a season 2 to show the non-readers that the entire world of redo of healer is already awful without keyaru. Don't forget keyaru only became what he was because of the people he interacted with in world he was in. The people who read redo of healer knows that keyaru would NEVER become what he did if he was in ANY other fantasy world.
Yup, it's a good old fashion revenge story, the anime take on the classic rape and revenge grindhouse classics but gender reversed and in a fantasy setting. The reason sympathy always remains with Keyaru despite the horrible shit he does is because we know that not only are the people he does it to even worse but also because he is specifically targetting them because they did the same or worse to him and his punishments are often fitting karma.
@@Tomeroche I don't understand why Keyaru punished Blade so harshly compared to the others, but then gave Flare what was essentially a system reset when she put him through the most pain. She literally put collar on his neck and treated him like a little bitch. Not to mention that she allowed Blade, Bullet and many other men and women to use him. Most of the pain he went through was all her fault and yet her punishment was much less painful. All he did was snap her fingers, rape her, and then erase her memories. Her punishment doesn't even mean anything to her because she doesn't remember any of it and he treats her with kindness afterwards. He literally just broke her, erased any trauma she could have felt, and fixed her by making her a better version of herself. To be honest, he ended up making her life even better because she has no trauma or memory of being tortured and she's a good person now. She can even use her fire magic properly.
@@StarBoxz Because her continuing to live was useful to his other plans. So he got his vengeance as best he could focusing on humiliating her and breaking her spirit before just mind wiping her and effectively killing her while still having what he needed to help get vengeance on others. it was also a fitting punishment because it basically mirrored what she did personally as well, which was drugging him to the point of insanity and humiliating him.
@@Tomeroche Okay I think I get it now. She killed the good Keyaru and made him evil, so he killed the evil Flare and made her good (Freiya) in return. That's actually a pretty clever punishment. (Whatever below is just me yapping, so you don't have to read it) Anyway If his other plans were just to use her then why does he frequently have sex with her? Maybe he's just hypersexual? It seems like he genuinely cares about Freiya in his own twisted way. He even gets pissed when someone tries to hurt her. Flare never suffers again after her memories are erased. She doesn't have any trauma of what he did to her either. It's like taking someone's arm off then rewinding time so it's completely healed and they don't remember that pain. He basically tortured her for a what was probably a few hours and then ended her suffering when she made him suffer for much longer. If anything he's torturing himself by living with someone who looks like Flare. Then again she has a different face and name so it probably doesn't affect him.
so it's disturbing and too far when it happens to flare but it's just unlucky when much much worse happens to keyaru at the beginning? holy double standards batman. also crazy how you save all the brutal descriptions for all his "victims" but brush over what happened to keyaru. he was the most justified in his actions out of any character in the show and was never supposed to be a good guy. best way to describe it is chaotic neutral in dnd. He used to be a good person and so he still helps people as long as he can use it to suit his needs. If you're going to review something maybe you should actually watch what you are reviewing first.

Redo of Healer is easily one of the most insane, unfiltered anime out there. The story is twisted in all the right ways, and it’s not afraid to dive deep into the darker, more mature themes that most other shows shy away from. It’s like the anime world decided to throw subtlety out the window and go all-in on the 18+ vibes. The characters aren’t your usual ‘goody two-shoes’ heroes-they're deeply flawed, and the revenge plot? Absolutely wild. Honestly, it's a shame we don’t get more anime like this anymore, where it’s not afraid to push boundaries and make you think, ‘Did they really just do that?
The lesson to be learned is to be mindful, humble, & show compassion, & humility towards others. If selfish, abusive, & arrogant, you may just find yourself on the recipient of what you have sown. At such a time, you deserve everything that karma sends your way. Be accountable, & responsible for yourself. Don’t act like the princess of this anime, if you do not wish to experience her fate for yourself. She earned her fate of his revenge.

Something worth bringing up, this came out after the first season of Rising of the Shield Hero. For anyone who forgot, people got made because the premise of Shield Hero is about a princess who framed the hero for SA by blatantly lying about it. i legit want more Redo of healer. seriously, it was a banger. i love these kinds of Revenge Stories! they are my favorite! take what once thought it owned you and ruined you, and ruin it, break it, and then shape it into something YOU want. LOVE those stories!!
I think the explanation of the story is simple: MC has been abused into becoming a psychopath, then after he escapes he takes revenge on everyone. But I think I have an idea bout how his healing works: it's actually time manipulation. He reverts the time around a person to a point where the injury didn't happen yet, but he has to absorb the trauma from said injury. SO at the beginning him reverting the entire world while keeping his memories kinda makes sense. I was probably thinking about this too much. Definitely more than the writer did, that's for sure, and this isn't even my own logic, I just stole it from Accel World!
The moment I lost my shit with this anime was when they referenced the painting "The Third of May 1808". Looking back now, they probably just used to save time actually creating the scene.

Well granted his victims weren't exactly paragons of virtue and is probably worse than the protagonist. In a world as brutal as this, his actions though reprehensible is just returning the favour.
if the world decides to be cruel, then there's no shame in treating it the same way.

Midori Shoujo Tsubaki is probably the darkest anime you can easily find. I recall it had to be self-animated because the studios refused to do it. It is a collection of loosely related scenes. One of them involves a girl getting greapped by an amputated dude... and she just takes it.

im just saying people wouldn't find it nearly as disgusting if it was a woman taking revenge on a bunch of men if you swap the genders and its becomes less disgusting you got a problem worse than the fans of the show
I don't think it's because he's a man. It's because some people don't see him as attractive. Most anime fans don't care about how horrible a character is because they are attractive so it's not really a gender thing. Syakesan from Wadanohara rapes the MC but lots of people including myself still love him because he'a pretty hot and he's a good villain.
This guy said there is no plot points but he just ignored every single plot point in the story.
(Whatever below is just me yapping, so you don't have to read it)
Anyway If his other plans were just to use her then why does he frequently have sex with her?
0:21 I thought it was an hent@i
This is the TRUE power of a healer
so it's disturbing and too far when it happens to flare but it's just unlucky when much much worse happens to keyaru at the beginning? holy double standards batman. also crazy how you save all the brutal descriptions for all his "victims" but brush over what happened to keyaru. he was the most justified in his actions out of any character in the show and was never supposed to be a good guy. best way to describe it is chaotic neutral in dnd. Redo of Healer is easily one of the most insane, unfiltered anime out there. The story is twisted in all the right ways, and it’s not afraid to dive deep into the darker, more mature themes that most other shows shy away from. i legit want more Redo of healer. seriously, it was a banger.
i love these kinds of Revenge Stories! they are my favorite! take what once thought it owned you and ruined you, and ruin it, break it, and then shape it into something YOU want. LOVE those stories!!
I mean we all knew what we were getting into
This is defo one of those anime where you just turn off your brain and never question anything that happens lol
Give us a season 2
This anime broke me... I don't know if I can handle season 2. Too much PTSD...
What? Redo of healer is one of the best echi anime ever
Jesus, I thought this short was just a few seconds long, and now I realized I sat here for 17 minutes about redo of healer. good short, though.
Now I have to go rewatch it , thanks 😐
Name pls
It's called Native Isekai. It's a great genre that includes Frieren
Tou watch this for the h***ai
I watched this from this vid and questioned my life choices, we are not the same
I think the explanation of the story is simple: MC has been abused into becoming a psychopath, then after he escapes he takes revenge on everyone.
6:47 the bottom left 💀💀💀
The moment I lost my shit with this anime was when they referenced the painting "The Third of May 1808". Looking back now, they probably just used to save time actually creating the scene.
Bro got violated by men and women and he really said it’s for the mission 💀
You know what I learned from Denji of Chainsaw man?
A world without Bad Movies would be awful. This anime is part of those "bad pieces of art" that you need to have contrast with the good ones.
9anime still alive
yep it was a different thing going under the same name fyi
Domain?
aniwave isnt tho
@@anapple6912 Yea, OP is misleading ppl.
If they cared to notice at all, theyd know that the original 9anime changed their name before it got taken down.
If it was that bad then why make an entire video essay that amplifies the message to millions. Damn.
Even if it too fantasy i still prefer this more then then normal harem where the main character not even lie his hand on girls around him
AHHH NO, it's redo: of a healer, I TRIED TO SUPPRESS THIS FROM MY MIND FOREVER. No! You can't do this to me!!
It didn't ruin an generation, but you burned every terribad moment into my brain again, FUCKING THANKS, I HATE IT!
1:33 also, why are avocados bad? They require %50 more water than any crop. People at farms are mass-farming avacados, and this is actually hurting the environment in a lot of places, turning tillable soil into dust. NOW you know why avacados make people sad.
Fr we need a season 2
I guess you could say thats," The wrong way of using healing magic."
What did the wolf girl do she didn’t torture him she was a slave
he saw a kindred spirit in her torured and wanting revenge like him...he buys her from a slaver dying from poison, heals her and keeps her with him saying he will spoil her till the day he dies
@@longdragon7067and does horrendous acts to her. It’s a display of libido tainting the show.
shes with him willingly
watching that anime as 'introduction to anime world' was surely the worst thing happened to me as of now
Kearu is pure evil, it all comes to light at the end, when he kill himself to remove all the evil.
Blatent misinformation
He's still alive
@@kazuyakanbara1395 He's talking about Kearu.
Dunno what manga/anime he's from though
@@hassathunter2464 Isn't that just a misspelling of Keyaru?
5:00 Wait what? What he did to any of his victims was way more kind than what they did to him. Like the show is bad, but not for _that_ reason.
he tortured and killed them. yea thats actually worse than what they did to him, even if we consider the details of it.
@@HungrySquid-z9j He only tortured and killed them and somehow this is worse than what they put him through? You're nuts. They tortured him _and kept him alive to torture him some more._
I remember hearing about a controversy over this when it came out, and of course for me, I find that when a show has a controversy, 9 out of 10 times it is GOOD.
So I... kind of pushed myself to watch the season to the end, and when it was over, i thought.... well why the hell did I do that? 😆
Because... it's good?
@hassathunter2464 honestly I can't say I thought it was "good", it was a rather spectacular train wreck actually. It gets points for being unique i suppose, would I ever rewatch it? HELL no...
