No, they just look it up on RUclips
Agreed! I thought that's where this was going, but calling Dad was funnier 😂
how did the writers miss the real joke here?
not as often as you think. I can not count the times that I have used the let me google that for you website to answer people's questions on things.
that's what i did🤣
Ok. The best part of this is how a 2 minute emergency felt like a 20 minute apocalypse.
The lady's facial expressions are priceless and this was too funny!😂
This reminds me of when a baby boomer asks how to rotate a PDF.
Good thing you can rotate a PDF, life saving skills If you ask me. How about building a House, changing Oil and repairing a flat tire? Can you do all of that?
@@ericlaurin1699 Hilariously antiquated notions, all of them. Cars don't even need oil anymore. Get with the times. Furthermore, I have literal life saving skills which may genuinely be useful one day and my computer skills provide me with adequate funds to pay a blue collar worker to do all the antiquated things I need.
@@MaxChipz "Cars don't even need oil anymore." 🤣🤣🤣
@@iansilver4853 yes, EVs exist. I also live in a condo but I guess I should have built it with my own hands.
Shut the water valve off under the toilet.
Canadian toilets don't have that...
No, squeeze squeeze, jiggle.
@paineoftheworld Yeah, they just have holes dug in the snow, right? 🤦♂️
@@paineoftheworldall toilets have a water feed line to them that should have a valve on them. Speaking as a Canadian with 3 toilets, 2 of which I just replaced.
@@gregorbabic7664 , incorrect. Canadian toilets have an on/off switch with a dial for pressure. Set the dial to zero, then power off. Clear the debris. Or preferably throw it into the trash - in fact just set the house on fire.
This is more a Gen Z problem.. Im a Gen Y. 37 years old. Fix commercial buildings for a living. The millenial trope is getting old. Like boomer old.
Congratulations, you fix commercial buildings! Whatever that means.
What is it you fix? Are you a plumber, an electrician, or a carpenter? Do you do concrete work? What?
How about the rest of your living, can you change the tire on your car? Can you change the oil? What about gardening? Can you grow your own food, or do you have to rely on grocery stores?
It's great that you know how to "fix commercial buildings." Can you cook a steak perfectly and make pancakes from scratch without a recipe? Do you know how to hem clothes?
These are all basic knowledge that most young people don't have any clue about. They don't understand that hard work is worth more than a dollar. They would rather pay someone else to do the work for them.
@@northernsnow6982Haven't heard from the kids in a while, eh?
@@northernsnow6982 If everyone did their own labor we'd be back to the barter system. How's my take on that?
@@TheCatherineCC according to your comment, I just heard from one.
@AlfonsoMagona2279 Your take is horrible. Just because you can change a tire and the oil on your car doesn't mean you can fully maintain one or build one in the first place. Nor does one single person have enough time to be able to maintain everything in their lives, plus make everything they need. However, the more you know about basic maintenance, the less you have to rely on others and pay them to do it.
Makes me think of a boomer struggling with minor computer tasks
Look at all this deflection! 😂
I don’t relate to this. Probably more a millennials who work in the entertainment industry thing, most of the people I know fix everything themselves
I can at least relate to calling the old man for more complicated and specific things, but arguing tooth and nail with myself trying to figure out the issue before hand lol. Usually with stuff specific to the house, as he owned it before me.
As a millennial who grew up with Gen-Xers, I think there needs to be a divide for the millennial generation. I can't relate to this skit at all, because I was taught to toughen up and solve the problem ever since I was a kid.
Yeah, older millenials and younger millenials are totally different. we should cut that group in half, and stick us 80s millenials with the Gen Xers, and 90s millenials with Z. One of us played outside, the other didn't. One of us had phones with wires, the other ones didn't. One of us had to use the new-fangled internet to do a research project on "beavers" in the 3rd grade, the other group never had to, as the teachers still remember the time that blew up in their faces. 😆 "Uhhh, Ms. Smith, why are all these websites of naked women on cars? All I did was type "beaver" into Yahoo! See?"
@@Murph709 I remember using the card cabinet to find books for research in the library because the computer wasn't widely used back then. But yeah, we were so free to find out what works and what doesn't by simply being allowed to try different things. A science project getting messy both at home and in class wasn't a big deal back then since we were expected to help with the cleanup afterward. Things like bike chains falling off were an easy fix since either one of the siblings or our parents taught us how to fix it, and we weren't afraid of getting our hands dirty fixing it.
Now you can fix your internet next time you hit a button and don't know why your computer won't turn on yourself.
Yup, they make a great couple, hey CBC! Give them their own show, pronto!
Take care, and all the best.
CBC won't be around anymore if Pete gets his way....this, along with shows like Murdoch Mysteries, will be a thing of the past
This would make a great Father's Day video 😂
😂😂😂
Millennial Tom is AWESOME!
Have they tried unplugging it and plugging it back in? Actually, that might work!
I was waiting for the RUclips burn 😅😂
My Millennial children all know which end of tool to use. They all got the basics.
Love this! What a great parent you are ❤
Trolled by a toilet.
The cleaned up version of Canadian toilet humour.
Who's stress level was skyrocketing as they were watching the bowl reach the point of no return (overflowing)?
This is hilarious. Especially considering that I have been putting a new Fluidmaster in one of our toilets today. Gen X here. Didn't need to call Dad. Wouldn't do any good anymore. He's been dead for a year now. 🤣😂 Don't be offended. My Dad would be laughing.
What? They didn't ask Siri or Alexa???
Call the landlord?
Don’t worry, everything is being built now so that you can’t fix it or get replacement parts.
It's squeeze, jiggle, pull. Duh!
Bro what? Millenials just google that shit and get it done ourselves.
So many times we tell them how.
😂
Why are people replying as if, as if, as if it’s real and not sarcasm? Like giving advice, like shouting out to Luke Skywalker “Be careful he’s gonna cut your hand off!” Jeepers Creepers!!!
Was dad laughing or crying?
float and chain..top water is drinkable
This isn't fair to millenials. I know many gen Xers and baby boomers who don't know what to do either.
Dumpster 🔥 channel
For all the people that want to play white knight so they can improve their sense of self worth. Wilson and McGunnigle are both millennials and they were not offended by this sketch, odds are they had a hand in writing it.
So if you feel offended that says more about you than if the sketch is funny or if it is "unfair". There are times where comedians take the piss out of things and satire is designed to do exactly that. The actors and writers took a moment from their own lives and showed the absurdity of it.
There is nothing wrong here, the problem is that you can not take a joke. I prescribe another 22 minutes of therapy.
Who are you talking to? There are no people here playing the white knight. You're having an imaginary conflict with yourself
@@popurm look for all the people that are "as a gen x this is not right to make fun of millenials" that is white knighting. I am not having an imaginary conflict, thanks for playing.
being the white knight is starting a conflict when there was not one.
Like yourself....... We noted that it's totally not true or relevant to us. It fails as satire. It's comedy for an older generation that is clearly out of touch with the fact that we are the workforce now. There are more millenials here on YT as well. So I gotta ask, who was this really for? Not us. You perhaps, but that's probably because of the very reason I described. YOU'RE OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY. @@hugsandcurses
@@grahammorehouse8552 if you take offense to this, there is a better chance than you think that this is relevant to you. Again, as stated, this was acted by millennials and likely written by millennials. As for your conjecture as to who this is for CBC does cater to the millennial age range as well as those that are older. it succeeds as satire just fine and satire will offend individuals who can not take criticism. if you think that fails as satire you are sadly out of touch with reality. the workforce today is much more than any one generation, so why you think that has nay relevance on the situation I would be interested to hear. Stereotypes hold a hint of truth to them and this plays on a stereotype, not even the most common one regarding millennials
The person out of touch might very well be you, in part because for some reason you think putting it in all caps MAKES YOUR POINT MORE VALID.
🤣🤣🤣🖖😀❤🇨🇦🌍🙏
They look more like GenX actors. Millennials would be all over RUclips looking at tutorials or X'ing their buddies about it.
Ahhh!!! Just turn the stop off! As a plumber, this drives me nuts! 😅
What great Canadian content. I can’t imagine a better use of tax dollars.
Does penny pinching really make for a happier life?
I think it's worth it if it means we have Canadian content, Canadian documentaries, educational content, etc. It's not like 22 minutes is all CBC does.
Tax dollars that make people more happy, and tax dollars that are invested into something that earns its money back and more that can be taxed at a higher rate. I think 22 minutes is a smart fiscal decision.
@@Dudelsackpfeifer Per person... Canadians don't actually spend all that much for public broadcasting. Especially when you consider that they need to make stuff in both English and French.
@@dennisheyes4561 Hey you don't need to convince me - I'm on board for public broadcasting.
Ask a boomer. We know everything.
Absodamlutely.
except how to set the clock on the VCR.
Yup, you guys certainly know how to doom future generations pretty well 😉
Just plunge the damn thing and if it's really bad snake the damn thing.
This is one of their poorer sketches, probably written by boomers. Definitely Boomer Humor vibes.
@@Bein_Ian "Doom future generations." LOL. Hey kid, try standing on you own two feet and stop whining. Now go fix your own damn toilet. You sound weak to me.
except how to open a PDF or how to stop the "12" from flashing on your old VCR.
As a GenX'er even I find this stereotype old and distastful.
as a genX'er i have seen this happen.
I'm also GenX and agree. There are things Millenials and GenZs understand instinctively that I struggle with. If you aren't THAT kind of boomer then it doesn't apply and pass on by. If Millenials are the stereotype then those responsible for it are those who raised them.
I'm gen x and when I'm in the loo, my spouse ain't. It's the only mystery left.
Because it should be a dead trope. It's not satirical. It's barely humour. Millenials are middle aged now.
Your show sucks the big one
