    One of the best dance tracks of the '90s.
    Could be _the_ best, however it's up against (INO):
    - Prodigy - No Good (Start the Dance)
    - Candi Staton Ft The Source - You got the Love
    - Faithless - Insomnia
    - Felix - Don't you want me.
    amongst others,, including Moby's own Move & Feeling so Real

    Good info, and very appropriate use of background music! Works so well. The strings and the "angel sound", perhaps something else as well, comes from Yamaha SY22 or TG33 (it has exactly the same "engine"). It's the heart of Moby's blue strings. Many known artists have used (and still use, I hope) the synth, either one of the models. Check out Dave Angel - Life's little pleasures, there's a good example of heavy use. Or Pet Shop Boys - Home And Dry, where they use a single "string" from the beginning. The PSB probably uses TG33, as it's the non-keyboard version and fits better (and I've seen it on their video), but I don't think the keyboard is a problem for Moby. His apartment with the many keyboards hidden in drawers, all ready to be played is fantastic! But the Yamaha strings from SY22/TG33, there is something. Not trying to be that accurate real strings replica, but more usable in synth music. As a previous owner of SY22 and owner of TG33, it's always interesting to hear them used. Finally, Angelo Badalamenti! He's also a common denominator: he's arranged orchestration for Pet Shop Boys as well. Just my random thoughts on Twin Peaks theme, Moby, Yamaha and how they play around in my mind. Cheers!

      Thanks Sami! I couldn't find much info about the equipment, but my previous vlog (Hans Weekhout interview) has quite some info for gearheads ;-) Thanks for the comment! :)

    • @SamiJumppanen
      @SamiJumppanen 6 лет назад

      muzikxpress and to comment your video, I think it was very well balanced. I think it has no room for gear info. But I don't know any other artist who has raised Yamaha SY22 melancholic, low resolution blue strings into such highlight. True? For example the ambient tracks found on Everything is wrong (dj mix double).

    The track Go from Moby became also very popular because of the Twin Peaks series were on the local TV with the track Go in ihe beginning of each serie. My parents were seeing Twin Peaks at the TV and because of this track in the beginning I saw this series with them. I found this track immediately amazing and recorded it with my casette player. It was so different and mysterious at the time. The best trance number of Moby ever is my opinion.
