Those are great disks, I never owned one like that but a neighbor had one I pulled a lot.. I worked tobacco ground with it. I think his was a 7' if I remember right.. Keep up the good work... Glasgow, Ky here...
Got a similar disc 10ft that got pulled behind the model A. Seen in John Deere videos earlier versions WW2 era and earlier were rope trip to angle the discs then when power trol was introduced that replaced the rope just after WW2. Don’t remember if the hydraulic lift like this was was introduced around the model A an B were near end of their run or when 50 and 60 took over in early 50’s
Yes, some of the old disk used wooden block bearings were usally made from cottonwood each block had was two pieces cut from one single block with a large hole cut in the middle and two other holes to bolt the two halves together
I have seen some but never in use. Even the horse drawn disk dad used didn't have the wood. I'd like to see one being used. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Very much enjoyed this video. I like the history of equipment and enjoy their stories, which is why I do a lot of that on my channel. I also understand how you wouldn't want to sell this disk. It may need some work, but if it does the job you want it to do, there's nothing better. Thanks for posting this video.
May not be the best disc ever made but it is my favorite one! I remember thinking it was a big disc when I was a Kid! Lol Thanks for stopping by and commenting!!
Man yeah Mr Bill, loved hearig the history on it!! That's so wild you still have it, and Dad bought it new!! Sounds like you have many miles at the helm pulling that disk!! I hope we get to see it in use soon!! All those flex points are amazing, never really gave that or the need of them much thought! Thank you sir, learned yet again!! Thank you sir for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing more of this!! 😁👍
Thanks Nelson! Yeah it's pretty much a family heirloom!! Lol Maybe not the best disc for every occasion but it is great behind a plow. I'll have it in the field soon and show what it will do. Thanks for always being here watching and commenting!! Means a lot!!
That’s a cool old disc! Just because it isn’t new or the like the stuff today doesn’t mean it isn’t a great implement and I’m sure the sentimental value it has to you is incomparable. I would much rather watch someone like you use old equipment than watch videos of big 200000 dollar discs used out west on a track machine. Older stuff is my cup of tea even if it is a Deere 😉
I'm with you. I like the older equipment. It still gets the job done and does it cheaper. I can work on it also. That's a big plus. The disc is staying with me even if someday I don't use it. Thanks for being here watching, commenting and supporting!!
My dad had one just like that one you got there. He pulled it with a 70 diesel. God bless.
I'm not saying it's the best disc ever made but it is my favorite! Thanks for stopping by!!
I enjoyed watching the video on the history of your family’s KBA ! It’s great to have some things from time past that you grew up using! Thanks Bill !
Thanks Cousin Scott! The little disc is something I'll keep even if I don't have a use for it.
Morning Mr Bill, will be back soon my friend!! Looking fwd to this one!!😁
Thanks Nelson!!!

Thank you for being here watching!! Yeah, this disc is something I would hold on to even if I didn't have anything for it to do. Thanks again!!
I have that same disk and I agree with you, I love it. It does everything I need it to do.

I have a BWA disk. Nothing wrong with the one you have. I'm sure it does a good job.
I had a BWA. 12ft. It would be perfect behind the 3020. Thanks for watching!!
I'm thinking if it didn't do a good job it would have been gone long ago. I have a toy kba drag type disk. Looks just like that picture you showed.
For what we use it for it does a great job! Needs a little work but still does the job! Thanks!
Nice old disc.
Thanks! I really like it.
Good story, thanks
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!!
Sorry Mr Bill I'm more concerned about the hopper bottom and the 2024 crop
