    Colourful shoes! I'd watch a one hour episode of Kyde showing us thrift shops (edit: and flea markets) around the Tokyo area. Not just her own haul, but an insight on the quirky second-hand things that are sold and bought there. And maybe find a classy sports jacket for Eric to wear over his band shirts and match babe-Kyde 😉😇
    Note to self: get a get-well-cupcake instead of meds when sick.

    Kyde did a great job filming on her own. I don't know about etiquette re: eating outside, but was told eating on your own is 'not done' in most Korean restaurants. This kind of kept me from going there for a while since I travel alone. Eventually got around it by joining a food tour in Seoul and meeting a Korean American there who then took me to various places. Anyway... I can imagine there being all kinds of rules around food consumption 😂

    • @kydeanderic
      @kydeanderic  Год назад +2

      Oh didn't know eating alone was odd, wonder if that applies to all styles of restaurants or not. In Japan is really normal and OK to eat alone, I like that it's normalized here. -E

    29:43 That's a kind of leek that is popular in Asian cooking, in North America it's called "garlic chives" despite the fact they're not closely related to the real "chives." It's good, it gives whatever it is in a nice flavour.

    Bit late but, regarding the part where Kyde is talking about the female bathroom is always further away than the male bathroom. My partner told me this is done for safety reasons so there is no reason for men to go any further than where the male bathroom is/slip into the female bathroom when walking towards the mens. This would make sense but there does seem to be exceptions to this like you said Kyde 1/20 times.

    First .. lots of vendors learn Japanese and Chinese. With experience they can read and know the customer and he might have come from. So I guess she totally got “ a tourist living in Japan” from you!.
    Second.. Koreans don’t use cabbage for salads like in Japan. Only for looking or making kimchi. That’s why you didn’t find ready cut cabbage.

    Funny to hear your comment about masks. In the US I've gotten used to not wearing them again. I had a dentist visit the other day and their text said the usual "you have to wear a mask" so I brought one but nobody was wearing them except the dentist herself. I've had several other doctor appointments in recent months and they didn't wear one.
