I picked up a few of the elf primers also, they really should just make it permanent. I think you're doing great with your purchases and you use up way more than you buy. I can't imagine getting my inventory as manageable as yours
I love that you got to pick up a few of the Jelly Pop primers! I think they need to make it permanent also. I would use that as my primer from now on if they did. I just did a refresh on my inventory spreadsheet and I’m so excited about my numbers for the end of the year! It’s taken a while to get my collection to a place that I’m comfortable with and where I can use up things before they go bad.

I use the Niacinamide, Matrixyl, Granactive Retinoid, and the AHA BHA treatment. Love them. I have not yet purchased from Paula's Choice but the Skin Perfecting BHA is on my list to watch out for Black Friday. I will have to subscribe to emails and watch out for sales. Thanks for the tip! I do love that you do empties and purchases in one video! Side note ...I was all set to buy the MAC blushes this morning from the 21 Days. I had them in my cart and ended up not buying. I thought about getting one of those too, but I have enough cream blush with my Franken products, that I don’t need to bring in another that I wouldn’t use for over a year. Ulta saved me some money too because I was waiting to see what the secret Viktor&Rolf product was going to be, and it’s one of the scents that I don’t like. If it was the whole brand, I would have picked up a perfume for sure! I have not bought anything from the 21 days of beauty and I’m a dumb dumb thinking that the VIB sale was in Sept but it’s in late Oct/early Nov so I have to wait a little longer to get my items from Sephora, but I’m totally ok with that. I am so happy to get the ELF primers and might pick up more when they do another batch. I can’t use The Ordinary AHA/BHA, it’s too strong for me, even leaving it on for 3 minutes. I do love the Paula’s Choice products and they run sales ALL THE TIME! They also do free gifts which is how I got my current AHA/BHA peel. I’m going to a dermatologist in a few weeks for the first time. My skin has been freaking out lately and I’m tired of the acne. 😩

I have 3 perfumes 😆 I tried Scentbox for about a year and a half and out of all of those months, I liked maybe 5. And I chose all of them but I realized that I have a very narrow window of scents that I like 😆😆 Good for you for not splurging during the 21 Days. I ended up with 2 lipsticks and a serum. Not bad, actually. 🤷🏻♀️ I am waiting for the VIB for a foundation. I have $55 in Sephora store credit and I want to try a high end foundation. I torn between the Nars and the Haus. We'll see which has a shade that matches me the best!

I had really severe asthma growing up and Viktor&Rolf was the first brand that I was able to wear without having a reaction. Sephora usually does a foundation sale at the beginning of Sept, but I think this year they only had select foundations on sale. I had the Nars Light Reflecting on my wish list, but I don’t think it would work for my skin type, but I’ve heard the Haus one does well with oily skin. I thought about getting the sample kit from the Haus website to try it out and try to color match. If you have a hard time color matching, you might want to look into that. Since I’ve been saving up my budget for upcoming sales…I keep looking at the balance and wanting to buy stuff now, but I’m begrudgingly holding strong with my impulse control. 😅
Erin, I love your byes & buys videos. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to grab the Jelly Pop primer. I know you have oily skin, what do you like about this primer? I have many primers, always look to see what will keep my oils at bay, but so far none have worked. I'm using them since I paid for them, some didn't work at all or just straight out didn't like them and decluttered to my sister & friends. You are doing so well with using up your skincare/makeup. It'll be years before I will be at the point that I will have one in use and one waiting in the wings to be used. I'm hopeful, but most likely some will go to waste with them expiring. Hey Sylvia! I really hope that ELF comes out with the primer again so you can try it out. I have stopped using matte primers long ago. And I also have stopped trying to avoid or control my oils. I think the main thing about oily skin is not to add to it, so all my skin care sinks in and doesn’t leave a greasy layer on top of the skin. I love the Jelly Pop primer because it smells like watermelon, it gives a nice tacky base, and I just love the overall experience of using it. I think that using a more matte foundation and then powdering down everything is my key to keep my base on through the day. I have to blot and powder a few times during the day too. I have just accepted that about my skin and the climate I live in. I want to encourage you to keep going and know that it took me years to get to this point with my collection, usage, and spending. There have been plenty of ups and downs. If you have a moisturizing primers that you don’t like on your face, use it on your neck,chest, and arms as a lotion. You might find other ways to use the products so you don’t feel they go to waste. ❤️
After project panning for 2 years I’m finally reaching some desired numbers in my makeup inventory. I’m using the last face primer, foundation and concealer, my goal is have a max of 3 concealers and 0 in the other two categories. And I reached my goal of just one cream bronzer and 0 powder bronzers. Sadly I had to toss more lipsticks as they went bad (I bought quite a ton on 2018 and 2019), but at least I’m learning about my tastes in colour and formula
Wow!! Congrats on getting your makeup inventory down to your desired numbers! With you wanting no foundations, do you just use concealer where you need it? That is sad about your lipsticks. I did a hard push on lip products in 2020 and 2021 and now I’m at the point that I’m going to need to buy some more lip products before the end of the year to have something fun to use next year. I also had to explore some formulas and colors before I found the ones that work best for me.
@@erintaylorwrites that’s right, my face is looking quite better after my winter peeling treatments so I’m not needing much coverage anymore, just a bit of concealer where I need is enough, so I’m currently considering the foundation application an unnecessary step. And I’m seriously considering not repurchasing my cream bronzer once I finish it, not because I don’t enjoy the formula, but lately I’m applying just blush most of times and forget the bronzer step. So we’ll see… 🤔

I'm sure ELF will ship to the UK but they had a one primer per order limit, so it wouldn't be worth it for the shipping. And Ulta doesn't ship to the UK, right? With a spreadsheet, just start with one category and see how it goes. Mine has evolved over the years.

And I have done that with almost every category and items.

So my fall/Winter goals is to use two of the colours I don’t use as much as I can. But since we had so nice weather the last couple weeks and me having had an allergic reaction to one of my mascaras there was not much makeup involved these past two weeks 😂

Ulta makes a banana flavored lip balm. Maybe a tad thicker than pillow balm but will give you that banana fix.

The ELF font and labels are TERRIBLE. So small and very hard to read.
Yes! I mean...I'm 39, but I should be able to read the shade of something. 😂
