The supreme has ruled cops have no obligation to protect anyone. They no longer protect and serve they people. Their main responsibility is to generate revenue for the state. Protect yourself and your family because the government could care less about the people they are supposed to serve

The police needs to look at that teachers phone or laptop to see if the teacher knew ( by reading the shooters Facebook) or calibrated with him. It does seem a little weird. I do agree.

Why was the SRO driving back to the school? The teacher who heared the shots and called 911 should have alerted everyone and the school go into immediate lock down. The SRO should have been checking entrances to make sure they were locked. So many failures.

Not really. Cops have proven time and again how cowardly they truly are. This isn’t the first mass shooting they hid outside instead of protecting children. They are brave enough to shoot unarmed citizens but not protect children.
The problem is that police act like a private army for unworthy political elites, and ignore the oath to protect and serve the community. We are a police state that has no respect for the Constitution and the responsible in society. Cops are conditioned to be yes men when violating the Bill of Rights and demonstrate abject failure when called upon to protect the innocent. This is a fiasco, this is shameful and it is yet another demonstration why the Democat Party's gun grabbing is not in the best interest of the citizens of the United States of America.

The person that said the schools should have gone on lockdown when the call by the grandmother was made to 911 was absolutely correct. THAT should have triggered a stat notice to all to lock down. Not only to schools but to all public services. I live in a rural area but that is exactly what happens here. I work in a local hospital and have been in many lockdowns due to public violence.

This was put in place since the last school incident 10 years ago. When you drive past a school look for a n police car. This is the reason their there.

They think everyone is acting under their own autonomy, when in reality they are being given commands on what to do just like a fire chief determines what firefighters do at a fire. Where have you observed this pattern in use?
There is a pattern of cowardice established by policy. "Hero" should not be given to anyone that is acting within the parameters of their job description. It's a special word that shouldn't lose it's potency, reserved for acts outside the scope of what's expected of an employee. This will change the general attitudes of first responders...perhaps their pay scale as well.

Deploy 40,000 National Guard troops (4 per school). That police force, and probably others, aren't prepared for that level of confrontation. Military weapons require a military response. America is stuck with guns guns guns forever.

Edit: Parents who have a concealed carry permit and have taken a certified training/qualifying course should be allowed to serves as volunteer security at their children's school. Just the fact that they are present on the campus would be a deterrent, and I'm pretty sure they would not stand around "waiting for orders" in a shooter on campus situation like the official's did here.
